1. Event Title, Date & Venue
The Event will be known as the 2025 Winton Festival of Speed, and be held at Winton Motor Raceway, Winton, Victoria on August 1st to 3rd 2025.
2. Organisation & Status The Event will be conducted under the FIA International Sporting Code including Appendices, the National Competition Rules (NCR) and the Circuit Race Standing Regulations (“CRSR”) of Motorsport Australia, Regularity Trial Standing Regulations, Supersprint Standing Regulations and the Regulations for 5th Category – Historic Cars published by Motorsport Australia, these Supplementary Regulations, any Further Supplementary Regulations and Bulletins issued by the Organiser for the Event and any Driver Briefing Notes and instructions issued by the Clerk of the Course.
The Event will be a National (Historic) Circuit Event including Club Level Super Sprints and Club Level Regularity. There may be a number of Parades in accordance with the NCR.

All persons are reminded that Motor Racing is dangerous and accidents can and do happen. All care is taken to protect you but you are warned that there is a possibility of an accident causing injuries, death or property damage. By your admission to Winton Motor Raceway you hereby acknowledge that the entry to the racing has a degree of danger and the promoter, clubs, corporations, organisations and persons having any connections with the promoting, organising or conduct of the event shall have no liability to you except in regard to any rights you may have arising under the Trade Practice Act 1974.

The Victorian Historic Racing Register was established in 1976 to celebrate historic cars and continue the spirit of historic racing in the world of today.
THE VHRR ALSO OFFERS A JUNIOR PROGRAM that is unrivalled by any other organisation, providing the younger members of our club with the opportunity to thrive in a tight knit motorsport community, offering incredible benefits for ages 21 and under such as:
FREE Membership and Admission to all VHRR events
FREE Event Entry to all VHRR run race weekends, INCLUDING Private Practice
FREE Garage/Carport hire at all VHRR events
New members will be assisted for the 1st 12 months at races with assistance in preparation of cars & contacts for spare parts

Racing is a sport is explicitly referred to as one of the more expensive ones to involve yourself with, but with the VHRR, thanks to the aforementioned inclusions of a JUNIOR MEMBERSHIP, those first steps are a lot more affordable to take.
Joining a new club or environment is always a daunting prospect, but the VHRR’s members are always on hand to help those new to the sport, or trying to find their feet in a new club. These opportunities to gain a further understanding into the world of historic racing are always available, and always welcome!
The accessibility at events run by the Victorian Historic Racing Register is also incomparable, with doors wide open at all times to get up close with ex Formula One cars, Touring Cars, Australian Specials, alongside cars that helped carve the way for legends of today, and so much more!

Logged booked in 1988 and this will be it’s 78 th meeting. Competition venues include Bathurst, Phillip Island, Sandown, Winton, Mallala, The Bend SA, Adelaide International Raceway and the Adelaide Grand Prix Circut. Engine by Larner Engines engineered to Group N 1300-1600 NB class specifications producing approximately 155hp. Datsun L16 steel crank, JE forged pistons, Steel conrods, HSD ported head, Kerford (NZ) camshaft, twin 45mm Webber carburettors running on unleaded 98. Close ratio 4 speed gearbox by Ken Zinner, Formula Ford clutch plate, limited slip diff (ratios changed to suit circuit). Smooth Suspension coil over adjustable front struts, Koni shocks with 2.5 Eibach inch springs, Koni adjustable rear shocks. Front brake rotors 244mm dia., with GT callipers and Winmax pads, rear GT drum brakes by BGT. Custom built Watts linkage and track rods. Currently running Nankang tyres.
Driver
~ Don Knight
Started running Sprints and obtained a full CAMS competition licence in 1995. Competed in a 1964 in a Ford Cortina GT Mk1 4 door, a 1972 Ford Escort Twin Cam and a 1964 Ford Cortina GT Mk 1 2 door. Competed at the Australian Grand Prix 2002 and 2004, Bathurst 1999, 2003, 2004,2022, Phillip Island, Sandown, Winton, Mallala and The Bend SA. Class championship winner 2001,2006,2019, 2024 and second and third championship placings over numerous years. Best finish in the overall club championship was second in 2024. Served on the HTCAV committee and was Club President 2000-2002. Proud member of the Historic Touring Car Association of Victoria for 28 years and was awarded the Ken Raper Memorial trophy in 2003 and 2023 which recognises the member who best displays the spirit of Historic Touring Car Racing.
