High-impact Giving Areas Frog Family Crisis Fund Support the fund that provides immediate aid to students facing emergency or catastrophic situations that impair their ability to continue in school.

As new challenges related to COVID-19 arise, there’s opportunity to support students – who may be struggling to cover the basic resources – by contributing to the Frog Family Crisis Fund. If you would like to provide immediate aid to students facing emergency or catastrophic situations that impair their ability to continue in school, designate your gift to the “Frog Family Crisis Fund”.

Inclusive Excellence Initiatives Fund Help strengthen existing and future initiatives regarding diversity, equity and inclusion on campus and support TCU’s strategic priority to build an inclusive university for all.

MULTIPLE PROVISIONS IN THE CARES ACT OFFER SUBSTANTIAL TAX BREAKS FOR GIFTS For those who take the standard deduction: The CARES Act allows non-itemizing taxpayers to take an "above-the-line" charitable deduction of up to $300. For instance, if you make a gift up to $300 in cash to a qualified organization like TCU, AGI will be reduced by up to $300—and you can still claim the standard deduction.

For those who itemize: The new law allows for cash contributions to TCU to be deducted up to 100% of adjusted gross income (AGI); an increase from 60% in previous years.

Moreover, any unused deduction may be carried forward on the next 5 years of taxes. This provision only applies to cash gifts that go to a public charity; it does not apply to contributions to a donor advised fund or non-operating private foundations.
