MARILYN AND MORGAN DAVIES The dynamic mother-daughter duo of TCU Trustee Marilyn Davies and Morgan Davies, Ed.D., have had a monumental impact on Texas Christian University, Harris College of Nursing & Health Sciences and the Davies School of

Communication Sciences & Disorders. Their

commitment to these institutions has touched

many lives — not only those of our faculty, staff

and students but also those who benefit from the care, service and research of the Davies School.

With their extraordinary gift of $5 million to name

the Marilyn and Morgan Davies Endowed Dean of Harris College of Nursing &

Health Sciences, of which Dr. Christopher Watts is the inaugural holder, the Davies

family’s generosity will continue in perpetuity. This will allow the Davies School and Harris College to grow in prominence and better serve their vision of preparing graduates to be service-minded, ethical leaders, scholars and global citizens.

Trustee Davies earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Texas Tech

University in 1970. Following graduation, she spent a decade in the tech industry before entering the oil and gas industry. She is the CEO of Bailey Banks Seismic, L.P. and has been a member of the Society of Exploration Geophysicists for 30

years. In addition to her service on the TCU Board of Trustees, Trustee Davies is a Founder of the Addison & Randolph Clark Society and a member of the Board of Visitors for Harris College.

Dr. Morgan Davies is a 2012 graduate of the Habilitation of the Deaf & Hard of

Hearing program at Harris College and TCU, earned a master’s in deaf education from Columbia and completed her doctorate in educational leadership with a

focus on health care at the University of Houston. She has worked as an audiology assistant since 2014.

The Davies family, including Trustee Davies’s son and Dr. Davies’s brother, Taylor, reside in Houston.
