Why did you decide to get into real estate?

Real estate has always been an interest of mine. Since purchasing my first property at 21 right after graduating from undergraduate school, I seemed to be moving or building a house every year or so until I decided to help other people buy, sell and build — and to settle my family in one spot. Since becoming an agent, I have only purchased one property and built another. I really love real estate!

What does success mean to you?

To me, success in real estate is building a well-balanced business where family time is a top priority. I do not measure my success in units or gross commissions but rather in the relationships I nurture and grow throughout the year.

What do you do to stay grounded/ centered/sane?

Is work a good answer for that? I have three children, three stepchildren, a busy husband and a crazy Goldendoodle. I find solace in going to work every day!

How did your challenges shape who you are today?

My biggest challenge in life has been finding balance at work and home. I’ve found ways to delegate to make everyone, including myself, happy.

What drives or motivates you?

Hands down, the answer to this is my children. I want them to have the absolute best childhood and life that I am able to provide for them. I love that they see their mom as someone who is out working very hard for them, both at work and at home.

Who has helped you get where you are today?

My husband is one heck of a role model. He is the hardest working, most generous person I have ever met. Without his love, support and guidance, I would not have the career that I do today.

As a 2021 Best-in-Class honoree, what are your words of wisdom for the next generation of real estate agents?

Never put limitations on yourself. You can have it all. You do not have to sacrifice homelife for worklife or vice versa. Balance is the key to success.
