Welcome to Beautiful Northern New Mexico
AND DISCOVER WHY SO MANY NEW MEXICANS TRUST THEIR HOMES TO WANDA LUCERO
For a moment there, I had my doubts that warm weather would ever arrive. But arrive it did, and so did the budding trees, greening grasses and chirping birds. As nature once again designs itself in a striking array of colors and shapes, it makes sense that we should give you the Design Issue of Enchanted Homes. On page 58, Rafael and Clementina Diaz of Casa del Sol share their secrets for creating a virtual botanic garden in your own yard. Sylvia Petree, of Petree’s Nursery, talks fountains while Char Austin, of El Camino Imports, adds insight on wooden statues. ©Chad Lewis

On page 54, landscape designer Peter Ziminski answers our Nine Questions. On page 50, home designer Vishu Magee takes us through the do’s, don’ts and cautions that come with designing a remodeling project. The featured home of this issue belongs to Steve and Gail Nash who, beginning on page 22, take us on a tour of their home that was designed for comfort and energy efficiency in Ranchos de Taos. This issue also has Ted Dimond on FICO ratings; brokers Peter Lora and Joel Schantz on why to buy now; broker Evan Blish on how he got to Taos; and, a profile on Dee and Mike Kendall of Mariposa Realty. So, find a spot in the warming sun, pour a cool beverage and enjoy a leisurely read of this design issue of Enchanted Homes. It’s all part of embracing the changing seasons here in Taos.
