This weekend our U19A Boys and Girls represented Tanglin Trust School at the annual SEASAC Football Championships, hosted by Harrow International School, Bangkok.
It was an absolute pleasure to spend the weekend with our student-athletes on tour. With Thailand still in a state of mourning following the passing of the Queen Mother, our students conducted themselves with the utmost respect and professionalism, representing both Tanglin and Singapore with aplomb.
As much as I love free-flowing attacking football, our boys were magnificent in the less glamorous side of the game – showing superb organisation, grit, and resilience. They navigated the group stage unbeaten and top of their pool, showing real maturity in and out of possession. Despite creating plenty of h d d h f l b h d l f

Singapore National Swimming Championships 2025
The Merlions put on a sensational display at the Singapore National Swimming Championships (Short Course), held from November 7–9, with 20 swimmers representing Tanglin Trust in an open-level field stacked with Singapore’s finest, including majority of the Olympic and World Championship team.
Despite the elite competition, every Merlion swimmer delivered personal best performances, with many exceeding expectations and showing remarkable improvement. In total, the team captured 8 medals, an outstanding achievement at this level.
Friday night kicked off in emphatic fashion as our girls’ 4x50m Medley Relay team of Casha , Eloise , Chloe , and Nathalie , stormed home to win gold in a new School Record time of 1:56.11. They followed it up with a silver medal in the 4x50m Freestyle Relay, again lowering the school record to 1:45.83.
Eloise became National Champion, taking gold in the 50m Breaststroke (32.31) — a world-class time for her age and a stunning finish in a final where just 0.3 seconds separated the top five swimmers. The second youngest in the field, Eloise showed poise under pressure and let her ultracompetitiveness shine through to win.

Nathalie displayed versatility and grit, earning three silver medals and one bronze across the freestyle events, all while managing a quad strain. Her new school records of 25.66, 55.32, 1:59.41, and 4:18.63 across the 50m–400m freestyle have her highly ranked in Australia's world leading age group competitions.
Chloe claimed silver in the 50m Butterfly (27.28), her first national medal and a massive 0.8-second personal best. After two years without a personal best in this event, her commitment to swimming and her strength and power training programme paid off, reclaiming the School Record in style.

ACSIS Middle and High School Cross Country
Middle School
The ACSIS Middle School Cross Country Championships took place at Pasir Ris Park on a, thankfully, cloudy morning which proved ideal for fast times and close competition over the 3k course. The event saw strong participation from Tanglin, with a large contingent of runners who were excited to show their best. Start lines were notably busy compared to previous years reflecting a real depth of competition.
Among the standout performances for Tanglin was Maya E, who claimed victory in the U14 Girls’ individual category with a commanding run. Her achievement was backed up by the Girls' U14 team, who, through stacking positions in the top 10, won a gold medal in their division.
Top 5 performances were also achieved by Sophie J and Annie N in their respective U12 and U14 categories with Toby G achieving a fine 3 place in the very competitive U14 category. rd
The overall turnout and results reflect a promising future for our Cross Country program, with many athletes showing the dedication and capability to excel at higher levels of competition in the years ahead.

ACSIS Middle and High School Cross Country
High School
The ACSIS High School Cross Country Championships featured a challenging 5-kilometre course comprising a full circuit of Bedok Reservoir plus an additional 800 metres. Despite an early morning start the building heat of the day made for challenging climatic conditions which our runners dealt with admirably. The event drew a competitive field across all age categories, with Tanglin runners delivering commendable performances throughout.
In the U16 Boys’ category, Connor ON narrowly missed a top 10 finish, while Chloe T secured an impressive 8th place in a highly competitive girls’ field. The U19 boys' team demonstrated strong cohesion and endurance, with all members finishing in the top half of a 60-runner field.
In the U19 Girls' category, Nitya M achieved a notable top 10 placement, underscoring her consistency and determination.
Looking ahead, select runners are eagerly anticipating the SEASAC Cross Country Championships, set to take place at the scenic Kanchanaburi National Park in Thailand. This event marks the culmination of the cross country season and offers an exciting opportunity for our athletes to further compete at a high level.
