This year, the Tanglin Lions proudly took two teams to the incredible Dubai 7s. Both teams competed in the Open Youth Competition, facing exceptionally strong opposition from South Africa, Australia, the United Kingdom, UAE representative squads, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi. The standard of play was outstanding, with many of our netballers stepping up to compete one or even two years above their age group. Our players rose to the challenge with skill, determination, and unwavering team spirit.
The tournament, held from Friday 28 November to Sunday 30 November, began with our Lions facing tough match-ups in the Open Youth category—the highest level available for their age group. On the opening day, the teams showcased resilience and composure, securing several impressive wins alongside a few hardfought losses against strong opponents.
Day two delivered another round of intense fixtures. The Lions continued their spirited performances, adding two more wins to their tally. Their consistency and grit saw both teams earn places in the quarter-finals.

Dubai Netball 2025
Quarter-finals day brought two fiercely contested matches. Both Tanglin Lions teams took to the court at the same time, starting strongly and holding their opponents at bay through halftime. Tanglin Lions 1 put up a determined fight against Dubai English Speaking School, but the opposition’s sharp shooting and towering defensive unit ultimately shifted the momentum in their favour.
On the neighbouring court, Tanglin Lions 2 faced Manchester Thunder UAE B—a team they had met earlier in the tournament. Lions 2 came out battling, playing disciplined netball with excellent defensive pressure. They held the score level at halftime, and for much of the second half, it looked as though the game might head to extra time. Unfortunately, two late unforced errors allowed their opponents to convert and edge ahead. Despite the result, both Lions teams bowed out of the tournament with pride, having competed courageously against a highly competitive field.
Congratulations, Lions! Your hard work, adaptability, and passion have set a high standard for future teams. Here’s to many more milestones ahead!

FOBISIA Rugby
Our aspiring rugby stars delivered an outstanding performance at the highly competitive FOBISIA Rugby Tournament, hosted by Marlborough College, Malaysia last weekend.
Our school was proudly represented in both the U11 and U13 categories, competing against top teams, including some local Malaysian powerhouses.
The U11 team was the tournament's standout story for our school, demonstrating exceptional teamwork and determination throughout the day. The boys powered through the group stage and topped their group. Advancing to the Cup semi final, the level of competition intensified, but our team rose to the challenge, giving absolutely everything and achieving a brilliant overall finish of 4th place! This was a superb achievement and a testament to their dedication in training and phenomenal spirit on the pitch.
Our U13 team faced a major challenge, our squad - made up of U12 players, courageously competed in the higher age category. Our team showed tremendous grit and bravery in every match and their commitment to playing hard until the final whistle was excellent to watch.

Tanglin Badminton Club - Term 2
We are delighted to announce that the Tanglin Badminton Club will continue into Term 2, following a highly successful launch in Term 1. It has been wonderful to witness the enthusiasm, progress, and commitment from all players, and we look forward to building on this strong momentum in the new term.
Term 2 Schedule
All sessions will continue in Berrick Sports Hall. Fees are calculated at $35 per session. Sessions will begin in Week 1 of Term 2
Y4–6
Saturdays: 2:30pm–4:00pm (8 sessions · $280)
Y7–13
Mondays: 7:00pm–8:30pm (10 sessions · $350)
Thursdays: 6:30pm–8:00pm (10 sessions · $350)
