Tanglin Trust School British-based Learning with an International Perspective Established in 1925, Tanglin has 90 years’ experience of providing a British-based education to the international community in Singapore.

Tanglin is a non-profit company limited by guarantee and is registered as an educational charity. It is dependent on school-fee income and all revenue is devoted to the provision of education.

Tanglin is a vibrant co-educational school of over 2,800 students aged from 3 to 18 years, representing over 50 different nationalities. The school is split into the Infant School (3-7 years), Junior School (7-11 years) and Senior School (11-18 years), which includes Sixth Form.

Learning is based on the English National Curriculum, which is enriched to reflect the school’s location in Asia.

A Commitment to High Standards

Whilst Tanglin’s academic traditions and approach to teaching are firmly grounded in an enhanced and rigorous English National Curriculum, there are many aspects of school life that have a global focus which is contextualised to the school’s location in South East Asia. Tanglin is unique amongst international schools in Singapore in offering both A Levels and the International Baccalaureate in Sixth Form, both of which yield consistently outstanding academic results to complement the school’s excellent results at I/GCSE.

Tanglin is inspected every year within the British Schools Overseas (BSO) framework, recognised

by Ofsted. All three schools have been awarded ‘Outstanding’, the highest possible grade, in their latest inspections (2013, 2014 and 2015).

Tanglin students are also encouraged to contribute actively to the local community, support service projects and participate in a wide variety of extra curricular pursuits.

Pastoral care is a key strength of the school and, along with high standards and achievement, this has been consistently recognised in recent school inspections.

Location and Facilities Tanglin is located in an attractive rural setting to the west of the city. The Infant School, the Junior School, the Senior School and the Sixth Form Centre are all housed in purpose designed accommodation each of which is a showpiece of South-East Asia. All classroom areas are well resourced and air conditioned. A swimming pool complex (a 25-metre pool, and a learner pool), a large multi-purpose all weather surface, a Performance Hall and Indoor Sports facility plus playing fields make up the four hectare site.

The new Circle Line (opened in October 2011) provides the most convenient link to the school with a station at one-north. A short 10 minutes walk brings you to the school.

Remuneration Package Successful candidates will receive a competitive salary paid in Singapore Dollars on the school’s salary scale. Benefits include an end-of-contract gratuity and medical insurance, and additionally for overseas recruited staff, rent-free pre-assigned accommodation of a high standard, flights at the beginning and end of contract, and subsidised education for children (where applicable).
