PRECONSTRUCTION

Adam Hinson Superintendent

T. A. Loving Company takes a proactive approach to preconstruction. Our teams commit to open communication and cooperative teamwork, which facilitates the solving of complex challenges during the preconstruction phase of projects.
Our in-house VDC department maximizes project value by ensuring efficiency and coordination in the design, which increases the accuracy of our estimates and efficiency in construction.
Our approach to HUB/MWBE is streamlined and thorough. Our trade partners find us easy to work with and our results are consistently above the established goal. Our ultimate goal is to help our trade partners gain experience and grow their companies.
CONSTRUCTION

We believe that the construction phase is all about execution. The plan, developed during preconstruction, is executed by our operations team, utilizing our best-in-class people, processes, and resources. T. A. Loving does not believe in a project turnover from preconstruction to operations. Instead, we provide a single point of contact involved in all project phases to ensure consistency throughout the life of the project.

T. A. Loving Company is a leading construction company known for construction excellence and client advocacy.
DETENTION CENTERS
The inspection requirements for detention centers surpass those of local building permits.
Key inspections of note:
Designer Security Inspections: Internal review requires full shut down of the project to test every security and detention device throughout the facility as if the jail was fully operational.
Third-Party Special Inspections: Fire and Smoke Safety Inspections. This is a requirement by the State of North Carolina (DHSR) to proceed with state inspections.
DHSR Inspections: Final round of inspections to fully take acceptance of the building for its intended use by the owner. Inspections must be scheduled well in advance and after the Security Inspections and Third-Party Inspections have passed. A strong CM will manage inspections so there is no disruption to the final DHSR inspection.
MEDICAL EXAMINER FACILITIES

ECU Health Medical Examiners Complex will include space for 80+ bodies, dedicated decomposition holding, three autopsy rooms, one BSL-3 containment suite, autopsy viewing gallery, imaging services to include radiology and future CT, enclosed transportation facilities, office space for five pathologists, six autopsy assistants, two fellows, and death investigators and counselors. This new facility will support existing demand from 29 counties for space, staff, and law enforcement agency requirements.
Roper Hall at UNC Chapel Hill has 9,300 SF of lab space, including a large area with 30 cadaver tables and cold storage. The lab features slip-resistant epoxy flooring for safety and easy cleaning. It also has six simulation labs with control rooms, 24 clinical exam rooms for practice, and a 700 SF microbiology prep area with refrigerators, an autoclave, medical freezers, and a biosafety cabinet.
The Jerry M. Wallace School of Osteopathic Medicine at Campbell University includes an anatomy lab with 27 cadaver tables, a storage cooler, a fresh tissue lab, and equipment storage.
Steve Troxler Agricultural Sciences Center co-locates five existing NC state laboratories into one new facility. The building includes large animal necropsy. The necropsy lab plays a critical role in supporting animal health, research, education, and agricultural productivity. Scientists use this lab to advance animal health, facilitate groundbreaking research, enrich educational experiences, and ensure the sustainability and resilience of agricultural practices.
