In the Art Town, you can experience the diversity of different art forms. The current exhibitions of the Serlachius Museums include Lorna Simpson’s first exhibition in the Nordic countries. Simpson is considered one of the most influential contemporary artists in the United States. Mänttä Art Festival celebrates the diversity of contemporary art, and the Mänttä Music Festival highlights the best of the piano world. The Kuvataiteen valtakunta (‘Realm of Fine Arts’) exhibition showcasing graduating artists is also worth checking out. This summer, a completely new exhibition concept, ‘Mäntän äärellä’ (By Mänttä) combines homes for sale and art. The lovers of choral singing are sure to enjoy the Art Town’s Song Festival, and literary art flourishes at poetry and literature events.
