WHITEHALL STANDS THE TEST OF TIME It has often been said that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. If that’s true, Whitehall Professional Property Management has plenty to be proud of these days. Over 20 years ago, Croom Construction Company had the foresight to open a preventive maintenance division to maintain their clients’ newly built or remodeled homes. In 1997, this was a new concept for Vero Beach. It had never been attempted, but it certainly made sense. After all, if your home remains in optimal working condition, it retains its aesthetic and monetary value. Like cars, homes need constant care. Fast-forward 22 years, and the success is clear: Whitehall literally wrote the book on preventive home maintenance and property management, and our systematic approach is considered best practice and unique for the industry. Today, our goal remains the same — to simplify your home maintenance and property management concerns.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, DAVID LYONS! For 33 years, David has managed all pre-construction activities at Croom Construction Company while working closely with owners, architects and engineers during the design and planning stages for each project. Since 1986, he has been responsible for more than $500 million in sales of residential, commercial and renovation projects. As a trained mechanical engineer, he brings a deep understanding of the complex systems that go into a project. David earned his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University and is a recipient of the Associated General Contractor of America (AGC) President’s Award for Outstanding Committee Chairman. Outside of work, he volunteers his time with local youth sports and is currently coaching middle school basketball. He and his wife have two grown children and beautiful grandchildren who all live in Vero Beach. From all of us at Croom and Whitehall, happy 33rd anniversary!

SMART PLANNING STARTS EARLY The official start of storm season began June 1st and continues through November 30th. Whitehall’s storm preparations are underway. For our seasonal clients, we began closing their homes and installing hurricane shutters in May. For our year-round clients, storm measures are initiated when the forecast by the National Weather Service states that Indian River County is in the projected path of a severe storm. Preparation begins five days before the storm’s projected landfall. Beginning early ensures that we
securely button up our clients’ homes as well as our staffs’ homes, allowing their families to safely evacuate. Post-storm communication is critical, as we know our clients are anxious about their home and property. Whitehall works closely with the Sheriff’s Department and the Vero Beach Police Department to ensure our staff has immediate access to your home after a storm.
