We have spent the past few years building a herd of Charolais cattle that stem from female purchases from Baker Farms, Prairie Cove Charolais and Stevenson Show Stock. We have selected a ‘type’ and have begun breeding cattle that have structural soundness, maternal excellence and good performance. We have brought two daughters sired by the popular Cedardale Zeal bull; we feel these heifers have the look, maternal ability and performance to be an integral part of any herd. Both have been shown all summer and fall as 4-H projects and are very docile. Foxy and Girls Bestfriend have both received the Grand Champion slap on several occasions on the show road this summer. Zeal has been siring cattle with eye appeal, calving ease and performance. We have been very pleased with the calves he has given us at our farm. The bred heifer is off of a Gerrard Montezuma daughter that is good uddered and has lots of milk, Foxy is following in those footsteps setting down a nice udder! The heifer calf is a mirror image of her mother whom consistently raises well-muscled and high performance calves year after year. She is moderate for the times, longspined and deep ribbed.
