Principal’s Welcome

Dear parents

We have always understood the importance of working in partnership with our parents, and so it is my privilege to share our 2023 – 2024 “Parents in Partnership” program with you.

This program is designed to strengthen our home-school links; to help cement the relationship between staff and parents; and to ensure that we keep our parent body as well informed as possible.

This brochure is designed to help you navigate through the different types of Parents in Partnership events we offer.

The dates and times provided here are correct as of September 2023. It may occasionally become necessary to alter something, due to circumstances beyond our control. We will send you an updated copy of our school calendar at the beginning of each month. Please check this to confirm upcoming dates and times. Parents in Partnership events will always begin with PIP on our school calendar so that it is easy for parents to see which things they are invited to.

We look forward to welcoming you into school for as many of the following events as you feel will help you and us to work together in unity, in strength and in the best interest of your child(ren).

24/7 Access to the latest information

If you have children in Grades 6 to 12, one of the best ways you can work in partnership with the school is to regularly log onto Schoology and epraise. These two platforms give you instant access to the latest academic and pastoral data on your daughter By logging on and discussing your child’s progress with her, you are showing your daughter that you are invested in her success and want to help and support her as best you can.

Here are the links to download the apps for Epraise and Schoology:

Download the Schoology app on the Apple App Store

Download the Schoology app on the Google Play Store.

Download the epraise app on the Apple App Store.

Download the epraise app on the Google Play Store

Application Details: Schoology

Schoology is a platform that allows you to view the courses that your daughter is enrolled in, view her overall grades, and see the weekly work that has been assigned to your daughter From Schoology, you can easily support your daughter in managing her time, prioritizing her assignments, and reviewing her weekly content as necessary.

Please click here to find a video with instructions for how to get the most out of Schoology as a parent, including instructions for how to log in and add your daughter to your account, receive a weekly report of your child’s grades and submissions, and notifications for any deadlines your children have missed. However, you must log in on the Schoology website and follow the instructions on the video to update the notifications to receive this

Epraise

Epraise is a platform that allows you to track your daughters’ points and overall well-being at school Epraise gives you an overview of each of your daughters, showing you the number of positive points, the number of demerits, and why she has received the demerits

Please see this video for a quick introduction to Epraise and how to navigate it. As mentioned in the video, to log into Epraise, you need to use the email you have received directly from Epraise; in it you will find a link to log in and set up your password. We recommend using the Epraise app to easily keep track of your daughter’s achievements and behavior in school. You will now have access to all information regarding your daughter’s well-being and any concerns that we have

Another way you can use Epraise to support your daughter is to get involved in Parent-teacher Conferences. To make an appointment for Parent Teacher Conferences during the allocated times, log on to Epraise and make an appointment as outlined in the video. Please watch this short video to show you how to easily schedule an appointment for Parents’ Afternoon via the Epraise app

Epraise is also used to book your daughter’s ECAs, the extracurricular activities offered at the school To attend an ECA, you must sign up via Epraise so that we know your daughter has permission to attend the ECA They can be signed up through the parent account. Following the steps below:

Epraise Steps

• Go to the ‘More’ menu

• Under ‘Community' , choose ‘Activities’

• Choose the ECA your daughter wants to sign up to

• Register for the ECA

• Your daughter will now see this listed under her ‘My Activities’ menu ( under ‘Community’)

At Home Support

We also ask that you support your daughter(s) at home by encouraging them to get enough sleep at night as the school day can be demanding. A good night sleep helps ensure that your child(ren) will be focused on their academic subjects. Provision of a balanced diet can also help improve their overall performance.

Please help support your daughter by providing her with a quiet place to study and complete her homework. Ensure that she has access to wifi, so that she can complete her work and her study effectively. Please help to ensure that your daughter maintains her iPad and devices and seeks repairs when needed. It really supports your daughter if you can check your emails regularly and act upon any needful school correspondence.
