Authentic

Welcome A journey through Italian excellence

Italy’s culinary heritage is more than food — it’s a living expression of culture, place, and people. It’s the story of generations of farmers, artisans, and chefs who turn simple ingredients into unforgettable experiences.

At Sysco Ireland, our Authentic Italian range brings together the finest ingredients from across the peninsula, sourced directly from producers who embody the spirit and traditions of their regions. Every product in these pages is Made in Italy, sourced with care from regional artisans who believe, like us, that great food is born of time, passion, and a touch of stubborn dedication.

Whether you’re a chef crafting a new menu or a buyer selecting your next best-seller, here you’ll find more than just ingredients. You’ll find heritage, simplicity and above all, flavour with soul

From the rolling hills of Emilia-Romagna to the sun-kissed coastlines of Sicily, every product in this catalogue tells a story. A story of time-honoured craftsmanship, generations, bold regional flavours, and a deep love for doing things the right way — not the quick way. This is more than a collection of Italian goods. It’s an invitation to discover the essence of Italy, one plate at a time.

We’re proud to present this curated selection — developed in collaboration with the Italian Trade Agency — to support chefs and buyers in Ireland in creating authentic, elevated dishes that leave a lasting impression.

Because in Italy, food is never just food. It’s identity. It’s joy. It’s home.

the team

Stefano Zini

Italian Sales Specialist – Based in Dublin Originally from Sardinia

Stefano lights up when talking about Italian food — and glows even brighter when the subject turns to the sea. Hailing from Sardinia, he’s a true ambassador for the island’s rich Mediterranean flavours: think pecorino, fregola, and seafood that tastes like summer. But Stefano is no regional purist. He’ll passionately defend Liguria’s pesto, Sicily’s cannoli, and Bologna’s tortellini as if they were all his own. With encyclopaedic knowledge and years of experience in the Irish market, he’s not just a salesman — he’s a culinary guide. Ask him about any product in our range and you’ll get a story, a recommendation, and probably a recipe too.

Emanuele Ferri

Italian Sales Specialist – Based in Galway Born in Rome, raised in kitchens

Emanuele comes from a long line of chefs — and it shows. Trained as a chef and hospitality technician, he’s earned accolades in both Italy and Ireland, from Junior Chef of the Year finalist to Gold Medalist in Ireland’s Hotel & Catering Review. His heart? Firmly in Roman cuisine. Talk to him about carbonara, gricia, or amatriciana and you’ll get not just the dish, but the emotion behind it. With a career that’s taken him across Italy and abroad, Emanuele brings an unmatched knowledge of regional traditions, cooking methods, and how to translate them authentically onto Irish menus. Off duty, you’ll find him cheering for Italy in football or rugby — and likely planning his next food-inspired trip.

Clara McKinney

Italian Sales Specialist – Based in Belfast From Sorrento to the North Coast

Clara grew up just outside Naples, in the scenic town of Sorrento — home of lemons, limoncello, and the original pizza. Food was always at the centre of family life, and she’s carried that love into a lifelong career in hospitality. Her expertise is matched only by her enthusiasm. Clara has a natural ability to connect with customers and bring Italian food to life through stories, tastings, and practical insight. Whether you’re looking for the perfect pasta or a little slice of the Amalfi coast, Clara is your go-to. And when she’s not working, she’s likely off exploring new places and cuisines — always learning, always sharing.

Gabriele Tolino

Italian Sales Specialist – Based in Cork Born in Turin, citizen of the world

Gabriele’s journey began in Piedmont — a land of white truffles, toasted hazelnuts, and deep, bold Barolo. A trained hospitality professional, he built his career in fine dining as a maître d’, where precision and passion go hand in hand. He knows what it takes to run a restaurant — front and back — and uses that insight to help chefs and buyers choose the right products for memorable dining experiences. His heart stays true to the classics: Vitello Tonnato, Tajarin al Tartufo, and the refined flavours of northern Italy. But his career has taken him across Europe and the Middle East, adding international flair to his deep-rooted Italian identity. In his spare time, he’s a dedicated cyclist, a tennis fan, and a firm believer that the best meals begin with great company and better ingredients.

Mariano Massaro

Italian Sales Specialist – Based in Kildare From Campania, passionate by nature

Mariano was born in Solopaca, a small town in Campania known for bold wines and rich flavours. He grew up surrounded by food — the kind that simmers slowly, tells stories, and brings people together. As a trained chef who’s worked across Ireland and Spain, Mariano has developed a sharp palate and a talent for helping others discover the depth of Italian and Mediterranean food culture. He champions Campania’s icons like mozzarella di bufala and cured meats, but his love for Italian food runs from Alpine valleys to island kitchens. To Mariano, Italian cuisine is a living legacy — one he’s proud to share with customers every day, dish by dish, region by region.
