MWEN – My Village/My Country Haitian Creole - English Poetic Translation
Peyi mwen gen anpil mòn, Dèyè mòn toujou gen mòn, Gen anpil ti sous kape koule, Ti zwazo kape chante.
Si peyi mwen pa plante, Anba lavil pap jwenn manje Toupatou, renmen tout peyizan Se yo menm ki sous la vi.
Dèyè mòn, dèyè mòn gen anpil mòn, Dèyè mòn solèy leve kouche.
Se dèyè mòn listwa peyi’m kache. Se dèyè mòn ki gen anpil save.
Peyi mwen gen anpil mòn, Pyebwa yo prèske finn chòv, Pou mòn yo kapab ilimine Fò nou plante anpil pyebwa.
Lè sa ma jwenn bon frechè, Anba tout ti kay an pay, Ma fete, fete ak tout peyizan, Kap riske chak jou la vi yo.
Dèyè mòn, dèyè mòn gen anpil mòn, Se nèg nan mòn ki gen pi bon lizay.
Se nan tèt mòn listwa peyi’m kanpe.
Se dèyè mòn ki gen anpil travay.
Pa gen anyen ‘pou fè’m bliye ti peyi’m nan.
My village has many mountains, Behind the mountains, there are always more mountains, There are many little waterfalls, And many little birds chirping.
If my village does not plant, The city will not find food. Everyone, love the farmers. They are the source of our lives.
