I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change is on stage now through March 4 at the Music and Arts Community Center in Fort Myers. Jimmy Buffett’s Escape to Margaritaville is playing now through April 2 at the Broadway Palm Theatre in Fort Myers. Into the Breeches is on stage through March 5 at the Florida Repertory Theatre’s Arcade Theatre in Fort Myers. That will be followed by Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story which runs March 15 through April 13. In Cape Coral, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee is on stage through March 6 at Cultural Park Theater. Next up on stage is The Savannah Sipping Society from March 24 to April 3. Avenue Q opened Feb. 25 at Laboratory Theater of Florida in downtown Fort Myers. That show runs through March 27. In the Off Broadway Palm Theatre, Greater Tuna will keep audiences laughing from March 10 through April 30. In Naples, TheatreZone is staging Camelot March 10 - 20 at the G & L Theatre. A Doll’s House, Part 2 is at the Florida Rep ArtStage Studio Feb. 25 through March 27. The Naples Players give us Mary Poppins on stage March 2 through April 3. New Phoenix Theatre in Fort Myers is back open in March. They will present The Tale of The Allergist’s Wife March 10 - 27. Gulf Coast Symphony will present Cabaret March 25 and 26 at Barbara B. Mann Performing Arts Hall at FSW. The Babylon Line is on stage March 18 - 27 at the Performing Arts Center, Moe Auditorium in Bonita Springs.

Outdoor art fests
In March, Southwest Florida art lovers have many choices again to buy art from local and national artists during some outdoor events. The next Art in the Park will be March 5 in Cambier Park in Naples. The third and final Bonita Springs National Art Festival of the season takes place March 5 and 6 at Riverside Park. The Naples Artcrafters fine art and craft show moves to Fleischmann Park on March 12. The new Paradise Concours festival is March 11 - 13 at Paradise Coast Sports Complex in Naples and will feature a large outdoor art show. The Peace River National Art Festival is set for March 19 and 20 in Laishley Park in downtown Punta Gorda. The Naples Downtown Art Show will be March 19 and 20 on 5th Avenue South. Hot Works will host its Naples Fine Art Show March 26 and 27 at the Naples Italian-American Foundation. In April, Seminole Casino Hotel in Immokalee will debut a new event. The ArtFlo Music and Arts Festival is planned for April 9.

Avenue Q at Laboratory Theater The Southwest Florida premiere of Avenue Q by Jeff Whitty, Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx is on stage at The Laboratory Theater of Florida Feb. 25 through March 27. Winner of the 2004 “Triple Crown” of Tonys for Best Book, Best Score and Best Musical and featuring puppets and human actors, this is a laugh-out-loud musical that tells the story of recent college graduate Princeton as he struggles to find his purpose. Though inspired by Sesame Street, these are RRated puppets with warnings for adult language and situations. Director Carmen Crussard says, ”If Avenue Q were a book, it would be called Adulting for Dummies. It grapples with some very real and serious issues, like sex, racism, money, and the

discovery that hey, maybe I'm not as important as my younger self thought I was. But presenting all that through puppets makes it all a little more palatable. I think this show is hilarious because we see so much of ourselves in these characters. Sure, we all deal with all kinds of problems as adults, but as long as we can still laugh at ourselves, I think we will all be okay, even if we still haven't found our purpose.” The cast features Steven Michael Kennedy (Princeton), Ruthgena Faraco (Kate Monster), Robert Barner (Gary Coleman), Todd Lyman (Nicky), Ken Johnson (Rod), Mark King (Trekkie Monster), Gabrielle Lansden (Lucy), Amanda Collins (Bad Idea Bear 1), Sharon True (Bad Idea Bear 2), Javen Fischer (Brian), Liz Mora (Christmas Eve) and Tracy Weaver (Mrs.T). Music direction by Earl Sparrow. This play contains adult language and discussions on sexual situations, drinking, and internet pornography. It is recommended for ages 13 and older. Performance dates are Feb. 25, 26 and March 3, 4, 5, 10, 11, 12, 17, 18, 19, 24, 25, 26 at 8 p.m. and Feb. 27, March 6, 13, 20, 27 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $37 each or $15 for students with valid student IDs. By Joy Ursillo Cultural Park Theater opened The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee on Feb. 24. This classic production follows an eclectic group of six midpubescents as they vie for the spelling championship of a lifetime. While candidly disclosing hilarious and touching stories from their Joy Ursillo home lives, the tweens spell their way through a series of (potentially made up) words, hoping to never hear the soulcrushing, pout-inducing, lifeunaffirming “ding” of the bell that signals a spelling mistake. Six spellers enter; one speller leaves. At least the losers get a juice box. Performances run through March 6, with shows Thursdays and Fridays at 7 p.m., Saturdays and Sundays at 3 p.m. On March 11, 12 and 13, we welcome David Morin back to the Cultural Park Theater stage with his “Elvis and the Legends” concert. And Jinx - a spunky ball of fire who offers her services as a much-needed life coach. Over the course of six months filled with laughter, hilarious misadventures, and liquid refreshment, these middle-aged women successfully bond and find the confidence to jump-start their new lives. A Doll’s House, Part 2 THEATRE
reimagined at Florida Repertory Theatre
Florida Repertory Theatre’s 20212022 season continues with a reimagined remounting of its 2020 production of A Doll's House, Part 2 by Lucas Hnath. One of the hottest new comedies in America, the play was set to open in March 2020 but was shut down just one day before seeing its first live audience. The 2022 staging reimagines the production for the ArtStage Studio Theatre and runs from Feb. 25 to March 27. When the pandemic closed the production in 2020, Florida Rep offered a professionally filmed version for online streaming. The virtual production caught the attention of the late drama critic, Terry Teachout, who counted Florida Rep "among the finest" regional theatres in the country, and said its staging of the play "rises where the original Broadway production stumbled." Florida Rep welcomes back many of the same creative team and cast as the 2020 production including ensemble director Chris Clavelli, whose work in 2020 received high praise from Teachout. "Chris Clavelli has wisely staged ['A Doll's House, Part 2'] less as a major political statement than as a domestic comedy with feminist overtones...Mr. Clavelli, a 20-year member of the company’s ensemble, long ago proved himself to be as sterling a director as he is an actor.” The Tony-nominated play is a contemporary sequel to Henrik Ibsen's now-classic work of modern drama, A Doll's House, and picks up 15 years after Nora Helmer closed the door on her marriage and family. What happened to the iconic heroine next? This bitingly comic sequel imagines her knocking on the door she so famously

slammed more than a decade earlier. Now a successful writer and independent woman, a skeleton from her past has her returning home seeking help from her ex-husband. In this smart and sophisticated new play, Nora finds that the family she left behind, including her longsuffering maid, has some choice words on her unexpected return. "It was a heartbreaking decision to close A Doll's House, Part 2 in 2020, but we knew we would one day revisit the production - and we're so excited that the day has come nearly 2 full years later," said artistic director Greg Longenhagen. "Chris, the design team, and the cast put a tremendous amount of work into making this a unique and one-of-akind experience for a live audience, and while we were so happy to be able to offer the play as a streaming event, this piece was meant to be experienced live. The new staging in the ArtStage is even more exciting than the original, and we have new designers and new cast members joining the process who are bringing new life and energy into the process. Boyle is a longtime ensemble member whose work at Florida Rep includes Outside Mullingar, Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike and many others. Pembroke makes her Florida Rep debut again with the reimagined A Doll's House, Part 2. Joining the production as Nora and Torvald Helmer are Suzanne O'Donnell and ensemble member David Breitbarth. O'Donnell is a long-time company member at Orlando Shakespeare Theatre, where she played the role in 2019. Breitbarth is a company member at Asolo Rep in Sarasota, where he also played the role in 2019. He returns to Florida Rep's stage after appearances in this season's West Side Story and previous productions of A Fox on the Fairway, Lend Me a Tenor and many others. Also returning to the design team are set designer Bert Scott, costume Designer Jacquelyn Loy, and sound designer Katie Lowe. Mary Poppins at The Naples Players THEATRE
It’s time to escape daily life and see some real, live magic at The Naples Players. That’s right, your favorite nanny, Mary Poppins (played by Elizabeth Marcantonio), steps out of the silver screen and onto Blackburn Hall’s stage from March 2 - April 3. Join young Jane and Michael Banks (Olivia LaChance and Aiden Thayer) on a journey into glittering worlds and you may just find yourself levitating out of your seat to dance with Bert (Bret Poulter) in “Step in Time!” With all the nostalgia of the 1964 film, Mary Poppins says “Practically perfect people never permit sentiment to muddle their feelings,” but adults will find the show irresistibly full of reminiscences. It’s not every nanny who can fly with an umbrella and explore magical worlds filled with surprises and songs that capture our soaring imagination. To Mary Poppins, this is nothing out of the ordinary and it’s with a “Spoonful of Sugar” that she uplifts the spirits of the audience and the staunch George and Winifred Banks (James Little and Tina Moroni) household. The Naples Players (TNP) is working closely with ZFX, a complete provider for all flying effects, to ensure that this magic transports us to another world. Flying two of the volunteer actors 20 feet high is certainly a tall order. There will be two to three trained staff manning this flight process to ensure that the actors are safe. TNP’s director of production Trevor Long says the responsibility is, “mentally taxing. You’re constantly thinking, ‘I know I checked it but…I better do it again,’ and you’re more aware of everything than with a normal backstage responsibility. Chase (Lilienthal, technical director) will be intimately involved with the installation and rehearsals.”

Lerner & Loewe’s Camelot THEATRE

The glorious music of Lerner & Loewe’s Camelot has stirred audiences’ souls since its first theatrical production in 1960, followed by the 1967 Oscarwinning movie starring Richard Harris and Vanessa Redgrave. The original songs are at the heart of Naples’ TheatreZone’s production of the musical, but the script is thoroughly fresh and innovative. TheatreZone’s production of the show will be staged March 10 through March 20, with matinees and evening performances. TheatreZone’s presentation of the edgier, modern version of the Camelot legend reimagines the script. Just eight cast members – seven men and one woman – relate the story to the audience as they perform and don costumes as the show unfolds. “It’s a show-within-a-show,” said TheatreZone’s founding artistic director Mark Danni. The talented group of actors create the story of Arthur in front of audience’s eyes while bringing to life the glamour and seduction of the Camelot era. The familiar story follows the love triangle of King Arthur, Guinevere and Sir Lancelot. An idealistic Arthur hope to create a kingdom built on honor and dignity, embodied by his Knights of the Round Table. His ideals, however, are tested when his lovely queen, Guinevere, falls in love with Lancelot, and the fate of the kingdom hangs in the balance. Actor Robert Koutras, who recently

starred in TheatreZone’s production of Bright Star, stars as King Arthur. Guinevere is played by Whitney Winfield, who starred as Fiona on the national tour of Shrek. Originally from Naples, the homegrown talent is familiar to TheatreZone audiences from her roles in Tonya & Nancy: The Rock Opera, Brooklyn … the Music, The Mystery of Edwin Drood and No No Nanette. The production’s score boasts such gems as “If Ever I Would Leave You,” “I Loved You Once in Silence,” “The Lusty Month of May” and the showstopper “Camelot.” Music director is Keith Thompson, who creates a rich orchestral sound with two woodwind players, violin, bassoon, piano, percussion and French horn. Alan Jay Lerner wrote the book and lyrics for Camelot and Frederick Loewe wrote the music and was based on the book “The Once and Future King” by T.H. White.

The Babylon Line on stage in Bonita Springs March 18 - 27
The Babylon Line will be staged in March at the Performing Arts Center in Bonita Springs. This is a beguiling and unpredictable play by Richard Greenburg (Take Me Out, The Violet Hour, Three Days of Rain) set in Levittown, New York, 1967. The Tale of the Allergist’s Wife playing at New Phoenix Theatre In March, The Tale of the Allergist’s Wife will be on stage at New Phoenix Theatre in Fort Myers. Directed by Tony Saracino, it will be presented March 10 – 27. Marjorie Taub, a middle-aged Upper West Side Doctor's wife, is devoted to mornings at the Whitney, afternoons at the MOMA and evenings at BAM. Greater Tuna opens March 10 at Off Broadway Palm Theatre
The Off Broadway Palm Theatre presents the laugh-a-minute comedy Greater Tuna playing March 10 through April 30. The New York Posts said, “The audience all but exploded the theatre with laughter.” The Washington Post said it’s, “Hilarious, a tribute to the art of acting.” Greater Tuna is a comic satire that launches into side-splitting amusement when the residents of the fictional south Texas town of Tuna come hysterically to life. Just two actors portray 20 men and women (and a dog) in a tour de farce of quick-change artistry and the audience is taken through all the quirks, foibles, and downright insanities of the citizens of Tuna. Buddy Holly Story at Florida Rep Florida Repertory Theatre’s 2021-2022 season continues with the rock ‘n’ roll sensation, Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story by Alan Janes. Obsessive Ruminations, exhibiting in the Grand Atrium, ties together the works of artists Alvaro Labanino and Miguel Saludes, brought together by bonds of friendship and comradery that take them back to their adolescence, when they first met. Upstairs in the Capital Gallery, artist Winnie Purple’s show, Effervescence, delivers a surreal, sparkling world where our ancestors’ tales come to life as intricate images, inviting viewers to immerse themselves in a colorful, dream-like experience. Their link is further bolstered by a common passion for the medium of painting which they both practice, as well as an appreciation for its rich history. Winnie Purple was born and raised in Guadalajara, Jalisco Mexico. She studied art at Artes Plasticas University of Guadalajara, music with maestro Eduardo Garciapena, and dance at Escuela de Danzas Polinesias. Arriving in Southwest Florida in 2001, Winnie immediately started work as a singer and percussionist with maestro Steve Uscher and his Tropical Jazz Group. In the month of March, DAAS Co-Op Art Gallery & Gifts is showcasing two guest exhibitions simultaneously. Arnold Plasencia is a visually impaired artist, suffering from a rare disease called Stargardts. Pushing through the limitations, he is a dedicated painter bringing awareness to this degenerative condition. The Lee Art Education Association (LAEA) is composed of art teachers from private and public institutions in Lee County. The group will be displaying recent works in a variety of mediums. The dual opening reception is scheduled for Friday, March 4 from 6 to 9:30 p.m. in conjunction with the monthly Fort Myers Art Walk. The exhibition will be on display through March 27. Arnold Plasencia’s condition began in his childhood, and it went misdiagnosed for several years. “The [Stargardts] disease is a form of macular degeneration which causes cells in the macula to die off causing loss of central vision and in some cases, like in mine, color blindness,” explains the artist. “Due to the lack of good medical insurance, I was never properly diagnosed until three years ago, at the age of 35. By that point my vision loss acuity was 20/500 and I had lost full central vision and most color,” adds Plasencia, who struggled with the diagnosis and was declared permanently disabled. With the help and support of loved ones, Plasencia started using art as away to cope with his depressive state of mind. The first piece painted after his diagnosis was a portrait of his recently passed grandmother. “A dear friend told me to not focus on what I could no longer do, but rather focus on what I could still do, and to simply change the way I did things. Those words resonated with me,” adds Plasencia. For this exhibition, Plasencia is focused on his life while living with Stargardts disease. His inten-

tion is to portray an artistic view of how he sees the world. His hopes are to inspire everyone with this collection, especially those with any forms of disability. “I want [people] to realize that our disabilities are not death sentences. The human body is amazing and the way it adapts is nothing less than incredible. We can do amazing things despite our disabilities.” – concludes the artist. The LAEA celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2021. These talented artists and educators are excited to share some of their personal and professional artworks with the community. A wide variety of mediums and subject matters will be represented in this show, but the common theme will be the love and passion of educating and inspiring our local youth to take pride in the arts.
Art teachers Scott Guelcher and Angel Elza are two of the participating members. Guelcher has been teacher for 15 years and spent his last 12 years as the 2D art teacher and Art Department Head at Island Coast High School. Elza has also been teaching elementary art at River Hall Elementary in Alva since 2019 and is very passionate about spreading her love of art to her over one thousand students there. Since moving to SW Florida in 2014, her artwork has been on display in several shows at HOWL Gallery and the Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center. ZimSculpt is on display throughout the Peace River Botanical and Sculpture Gardens now through April 18. Art Walks the Runway returns March 18 - 19
The Art Walks the Runway fashion show returns March 18 and 19 and will feature the hottest looks in local boutiques and couture fashion. Produced and organized by Melissa Tschari DeHaven for the past 10 years, this two-day starstudded event will present runway shows from Gerro Couture, Ahmad Couture, Forema Boutique, Ocean View & 7th, and Apricot Lane Boutique. Plus, see additional performances by contortionist Katarina Danks, and a body painted runway performance show by artist Adriana Gomez with Elements of Body Art. Pat Collins exhibit at FGCU ArtLab
Area artists, students of art, and art enthusiasts, and local activists will be treated to a solo exhibition of Fort Myers artist Patricia Collins work this spring at the Florida Gulf Coast University’s ArtLab. Action, Reaction and Interaction exhibit runs March 4 – April 7 with an opening reception and artist talk March 3 at 5 p.m. Collins was born in Massachusetts, got her degree from the Pratt Institute, and lived and worked as an artist in New York prior to a move that brought her to Fort Myers many years ago. Since that time, she has been active in tri-county schools teaching art, shown at such honored institutions as the Ringling Museum, the Florida Museum for Women Artists, Scope Miami,

and the Morean Arts Center. Her limitededition artist book, “Urban Anxieties” is in the MoMA Queens Artists’ Books collection. Collins’ murals can be seen at Habitat for Humanity in North Fort Myers and the Kappa Development Foundation in Fort Myers. She also serves on the City of Fort Myers Public Art Committee. Collins’ work reflects on the challenges of communication in daily life and the myriad of emotions triggered while navigating the landscape of issues, images and events encountered along the way. Sanibel Music Festival
features concerts throughout March
Sanibel Music Festival announces the return of acclaimed artists plus new innovations in March 2022. “This season marks our 35th anniversary,” said Jana Stone, president of Sanibel Music Festival. “The evening concert series this year will celebrate outstanding, long-established artists and Festival favorites.” Sanibel Music Festival is a volunteer organization focused on bringing chamber music, piano recital, and vocal ensemble of the highest caliber to Southwest Florida. “The seven-concert season has become a highlight for classical music lovers every March,” said Gloria Garrett, festival board member. “In addition, we will continue the popular new Emerging Artist Series this spring.” The Emerging Artist Series features the Bower School of Music string ensembles under the direction of Dr. Kyle Szabo. The series received enthusiastic reviews when introduced in 2021. The concert schedule includes Jon Nakamatsu (piano) on March 5, American Chamber Players on March 8, The Boston Trio on March 12, The

Juilliard String Quartet on March 15, Ken Broberg (piano) on March 19, Opera Theater of Connecticut on March 22 and Emerson String Quartet on March 26. On March 5, the first concert features Jon Nakamatsu, American Pianist and Gold Medalist at the Tenth Van Cliburn International Piano Competition. Since winning the Cliburn Gold Medal in 1997, Nakamatsu has toured yearround with today’s leading conductors and orchestras and in recitals and chamber music world-wide. His recording of Gershwin’s Concerto in F and Rhapsody in Blue topped Billboard’s charts for six months. He and renowned clarinetist Jon Manasse tour regularly as the Manasse-Nakamatsu Duo. The two also serve as Artistic Directors of the Cape Cod Chamber Music Festival. Nakamatsu is now Artist-in-Residence of the Chautauqua Piano Program. On March 8, the American Chamber Players perform. “They have established standards of chamber music performance equal to any in the world,” to quote The Washington Post. ACP’s Founder and Artistic Director, longtime NPR music commentator Miles Hoffman, is known for creating programs with a delightful mix of instrumental combinations. Cellist Stephen Balderston is a former assistant principal cello of the Chicago
Symphony. Joanna Maurer is an associate 1st violinist of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra. Pianist Anna Stoytcheva won the prestigious Ettore Pozzoli International Piano Competition at seventeen. Sara Stern is solo flutist of the 21st Century Consort at the Smithsonian Institution. The Boston Trio performs on March 12. “Whenever this trio plays, drop everything and go hear them” hailed The Boston Globe. Pianist Heng-Jin Park, who made her solo debut with the Boston Pops at age 15, is the trio’s founding member and artistic director of Halcyon Music Festival. Cellist Jonah Ellsworth has performed as soloist with the Boston Symphony and Boston Philharmonic, among others. Violinist Grace Park is winner of the 2018 Naumberg International Violin competition and is a member of the Lincoln Center Chamber Music Society. Performing March 15, the Juilliard String Quartet is celebrating its 75th anniversary with concerts around the world. The Boston Globe hailed The Juilliard String Quartet as “the most important American quartet in history.” The quartet is in residence at Juilliard, and its members are all sought-after teachers in the String and Chamber music faculties. During the summer, the JSQ works on string quartet repertoire with students at the Tanglewood Music Center. Its discography on Sony Classical and Sony Masterworks includes both classical and contemporary works. On March 19, American pianist Ken Broberg performs. Broberg’s most recent honor was winning first prize in the 2021 American Pianists Awards. On March 22, Opera Theater of Connecticut performs “Singing Andrew Lloyd Webber- Superstar of Song and Stage” at 2 and 7:30 p.m. Andrew Lloyd Webber is best known for stage and film adaptations of his musicals Jesus Christ Superstar, Cats, Evita, and the Phantom of the Opera. Bonita Blues Fest returning March 11 & 12
After a long break due to the pandemic, the Bonita Blues Festival is returning in March. The long-time annual event will take place Friday, March 11 and Saturday, March 12 in Riverside Park on Old 41 Road in Bonita Springs. Headliners this year are The Nighthawks on March 11 and Shaun Murphy on March 12. Inspired by Shakespeare’s timeless love story, the Gulfshore Opera Gala begins at 4 p.m. on March 6 with a multifaceted musical presentation in the superb acoustics of the 1800 seat Bonita Presbyterian Sanctuary. Featured artists are tenor Glenn Seven Allen as Romeo/Tony and “sparkling” young soprano Kyaunnee Richardson as Juliet/Maria. They will perform scenes from Gounod’s beautiG.S. The Bonita Springs Concert Band will present its next outdoor concert on Sunday, March 20 at 2 p.m. at Riverside Park in Downtown Old Bonita Springs. The band will open with “The Purple Carnival.” It will also perform “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly,” “Can you Feel the Love Tonight,” selections from Chicago and “Joyride.” Popular vocalist CJ Greer will sing “They Can’t Take That Away from Me.”. one-woman show. CJ was drum majorette for Conductor Gary Smith when he was at the University of Illinois. Band members are under the direction of Gary Smith who retired after 24 years as conductor of the University of Illinois Marching Illini Band and Symphonic Band. Concert Band plays March 13
The Southwest Florida Concert Band will perform a concert Swinging Into Spring featuring music from Glen Miller to Michael Bublé on Sunday March 13, at 2 p.m. at South Fort Myers High School, 14020 Plantation Road, Fort Myers. The 45-member community band will open the concert with an upbeat arrangement called “Jump Swing Fever” where you will want to get up and dance in the aisle. Hear “In A Miller Mood” which features many of Glenn Miller’s favorite melodies to swing along to, and a Tribute to Sammy Davis which will bring back memories of the songs you grew up with. The band will also perform a swing band arrangement of Duke Ellington music. “Crooner’s Serenade” are hit songs brought back to popularity by Michael Bublé including “I’ve Got You Under My Skin,” and “Save the Last Dance.” The vocalist Bob Helfrich will sing “Moondance.” Of course, there will be a march, John Philip Sousa’s “Washington Post,” and for Saint Patrick’s Day, the band will perform the main theme for the Irish Dance sensation Lord of the Dance. For Valentine’s Day, the band will perform three Beatles love songs you can sing along with. There will be the dramatic and impressive overture “The Hounds of Spring” to show of the musicality of the band and a driving Blues Brothers arrangement which includes “I Can’t Turn You Loose,” “Soul Man” and “Everyone Needs Someone To Love.” The concert will conclude with the driving drum feature by Benny Goodman “Sing, Sing, Sing.” All concerts are free with donations accepted. Lee County Community Band to showcase its brass section
On March 13, the Lee County Community Band will showcase its 21-member brass section with Tijuana Brass, Salute the Duke, and Trumpet Filigree. The concert will be at Cape Coral High School beginning at 3 p.m. Under the direction of Richard Bradstreet, the band also will lead the audience in an Irish sing-along; and perform robust marches, a medley of Broadway Hits, ‘S Wonderful, featuring vocalist Jan Fenn; Make the World Go Away, with vocalist Norman Jones; and all-time favorite Go Daddy-O. The band performs six concerts between November and April; all take place at Cape Coral High School, 2300 Santa Barbara Blvd.. The programs are free (donations welcome) and open to the public.

Paradise Concours festival debuts March 11 - 13 in Naples
The inaugural Paradise Concours festival – which includes a dream car show, leading-edge artists, musicians, and culinary delicacies – is set for March 11-13 at Paradise Coast Sports Complex. The festival will host a general Concours car show with nearly 1,000 special vehicles on PCSC's four professional-level synthetic turf fields and a Concours d'elegance car show with approximately 150 prestigious vehicles inside the PCSC Stadium. Visitors can enjoy a large art show of nearly 200 booths held on the field next to the PCSC stadium and an additional 15 VIP artists and art galleries inside the stadium. Various youth activities will entertain the kids on the PCSC great lawn. These festival activities will run

SW Florida Event Center to re-open in Bonita Springs
After closing the doors in May of 2020, the owners of the Southwest Florida Event Center announced they will re-open the event and concert venue in late March. In a press release posted on the event center's Facebook page Jan. 26, owners Jennifer and Richard Shanahan said, "Southwest Florida Event Center is re-opening. The exciting news comes on the heals of extensive restructuring and positive changes for the patrons and artists alike." The first concert event will be March 25 and feature a tribute to The Beatles with performances by Todd Rundgren, Christopher Cross, former Chicago lead singer Jason Scheff, Badfinger featuring Joey Molland and Denny Laine, founding member of The Moody Blues and Wings. Tickets for the show sold out in minutes the day they went on sale (Feb. 11). The January announcement further stated, "Throughout the break in the music, the SW Florida Event Center has not wavered in its mission; to bring an intimate venue with extraordinary international talent to Southwest Florida. When Covid-19 closed the venue in 2020 our primary goal was to look out for our ticket holders; this view has not changed." In regard to future capacity for concerts, the statement reads: "Upon re-opening, SWFL Event Center will accommodate 200 less patrons per show. The Event Center is focused on

bringing even bigger talent with even more personal experience. In addition, the SWFL Event Center will be teaming with local culinary talent to provide the finest dining experience." Festival set for March 5
More than 20 acclaimed and bestselling authors are coming to Fort Myers to showcase their books and meet fans at the 23rd annual Southwest Florida Reading Festival on Saturday, March 5 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The festival will be held on the downtown Fort Myers Regional Library campus located at 2450 First St. The Southwest Florida Reading Festival is a free, all-ages, annual outdoor event. Fans have the opportunity to listen to and meet a diverse line-up of bestselling authors, participate in contests and activities and find the latest and greatest in books and technology. In addition to author appearances and autograph sessions, there will be food truck vendors, storytelling programs, arts and crafts, youth writing contests and a free book for every child and teenager. Caloosa Sound
Amphitheater
Construction is well underway in Centennial Park for the new Caloosa Sound Amphitheater located between Edwards Drive and the Caloosahatchee River. The City of Fort Myers reports construction could be completed by the end of March, and a special event will be held to showcase the new city facility. Programming of the new amphitheater will be handled by Caloosa Sound Convention Center (Mainsail Lodging and Development - owners of the Luminary Hotel & Co.)

SW Florida country star Ben Allen hosted a singer songwriter showcase with Nashville hit makers Gary Hannan and Wynn Varble Jan. 27 at the Nauti Parrot Oasis in south Fort Myers. Wynn's three number one songs are: “Have You Forgotten” by Darryl Worley, “Waitinʼ on A Woman” by Brad Paisley, and “Iʼm A Little More Country Than That” recorded by Easton Corbin.
