Breaking Legs & Noises Off CHARLOTTE PLAYERS

The Charlotte Players keep their theatre season alive with more productions in the 2018. Breaking Legs will be presented Jan. 5 – 14 at the Langdon Playhouse. The comedy setting is an Italian restaurant owned by a successful mobster and managed by his beautiful, unmarried daughter. Her former college professor arrives to ask for financial backing for a play he has written about a murder. The three main Mafiosi are intrigued with producing the play. When the author learns that his backers are gangsters, all hell breaks loose. A madcap situation of murder and menace served up with plenty of pasta and laughter. The local production is directed by Ken Crisp. The Langdon Playhouse is located in the Charlotte Players Community Theater Center at 1182 Market Circle, Murdock. Noises Off will be staged Jan. 19 - 27 Cultural Center of Charlotte County.

Called the funniest farce ever written, Noises Off presents a manic menagerie as a cast of itinerant actors rehearsing a flop called Nothing’s On. Doors slamming, on and offstage intrigue, and an errant herring all figure in the plot of this hilarious and classically comic play. Noises Off will be directed by Gary Obeldobel. Divas in a Man’s World will be presented Jan. 24 at the Cultural Center of Charlotte County. This star-studded concert spectacular features Steven Andrade as Cher and the hilarious Gary Dee as your host and Joan Rivers impersonator. These productions are performed at the Cultural Center Theater 2280 Aaron St., Port Charlotte Evening show times are 7:30 p.m. and matinees (for Breaking Legs and Noises Off) are 2 p.m. Tickets may be ordered at the Charlotte Players website at www.charlotteplayers.org or call 941255-1022.
