If you are looking for a tasty slice for morning tea that is easy to make, the following may fit the bill. My family all enjoy it and it disappears quickly at garden club meetings. Quick Banana Date Slice
125g butter 1 cup raw sugar 1 egg 2 /3 cup mashed banana (about 2 med sized bananas) 1 /2 cup coconut 3 /4 cup chopped dates 1 /2 cup coconut flour 1 /2 cup wholemeal plain flour 1 /2 cup wholemeal SR flour Preheat oven to 175°C. Grease and line a slice pan with baking paper. Cream butter and sugar with a wooden spoon or food processor, add egg and beat well. Add mashed banana then rest of ingredients, mixing well with a knife or spatula. Pour into slice pan and bake for 25–30 minutes. Test centre with a skewer after 20 minutes, if it comes out clean then the slice is cooked. Allow to cool, delicious fresh as is and it can be warmed up for desert if a few days old. Dear GR Staff,

over the larger ‘stuck on’ bugs with the thicker paste that is left in the bottom. It will surprise you how you only have to ‘paint brush’ them away. No scrubbing or hard work. I didn’t believe this would work when told about it, but it does. Squeaky hinges can drive you spare, well they drive me mad. I was told by a mate to rub the hinge and parts with a slice of cucumber. No more squeaking! Dear GR Team,

So sorry I’ve had to ring this through but I have a broken wrist and so can’t manage lots of simple tasks. Mending socks – I find it far easier to cut the end off once the toe has gone through and zigzag across with the sewing machine rather than darning. Another tip is getting full value from toothpaste, creams and salves that come in a tube by cutting the end off and squeezing the tube firmly so I get to use every last drop. I’ve just easily taken off three months’ worth of bugs stuck on the front of my car. Very hard to wash off. But here’s a solution that makes this job easy. You make a paste with water and bicarb soda to a runny consistency of thick cream. Paint this runny thickened mixture on bugs with an old paintbrush. Straight away smaller bugs dissolve. Go back
