Beta vulgaris

This variety produces striped beets, red on the outside with alternating rings of red and white. Used just the same as ordinary beetroot, boiled, sliced or baked. Sow in cool seasons in hot climates, year round in cooler climates. Avoid extreme hot or cold times of year. Sow 10mm deep, sunny position preferred. Emerges in 7–14 days. Golden Detroit has orange skin, rich golden interior and dark leaves with attractive coloured stems perfect for salads when small. After soaking, sow seeds direct at 12mm deep and 20–30cm apart. Pea – greenfeast

Pisum sativum

Greenfeast are traditional sweet juicy peas for shelling and are produced in abundance on dwarf bushes about 90cm high by 15cm wide with white flowers. Sow direct in soil in a full sun position, 15cm apart. An easy rewarding crop for new and experienced gardeners.

Beetroot – White Beta vulgaris

A smooth white round heirloom beet from Holland that has a super sweet beetroot taste without the red staining. Pre-soak seeds for 2 hours to moisten the hard seed coating, sow directly into soil in a full sun position, 15mm deep, 10cm apart with rows spaced 30cm apart. Germinates at 7–14 days, ready to harvest after 50 days. Can harvest once 4cm diameter, but becomes woody if left to grow larger than 8cm diameter. Leaves can be harvested at any time.
