These ZB (Zinc Borate) treated products are approved for use as defined in AWPA U1, Use Category UC2. ZB treatment protects the product from termites and fungal decay without compromising structural integrity or consistency of the product. Each piece of Zinc Borate treated 1.35e T-TEC LSL is individually edge sealed in red for easy identification after installation.
Although they may have many uses, a primary application for these items will be for bottom-plate material due to their superior compression strength and dimensional stability –compared to solid wood options.
MILL MONTH OF THE FEATURED
More than a company…a family.
Their Father’s Shed
Gorman Bros Lumber Ltd , founded in 1951 in West Kelowna, British Columbia, has evolved from a modest family venture into a prominent player in the global lumber industry
Origins and Early Development
The company's inception traces back to the harsh winter of 1949-50, which devastated the Gorman family's orchards in British Columbia's Okanagan Valley.
In response, brothers John and Ross Gorman, along with their wives Edith and Eunice, began crafting and selling wooden fruit boxes using leftover wood from nearby sawmills This initiative led to the establishment of their own sawmill in 1953, marking the birth of Gorman Bros. Lumber.
Expansion and Acquisitions
Over the years, Gorman Bros. expanded its operations and product lines. In 1990, the company acquired Downie Timber in Revelstoke, BC, known for its premium cedar, fir, and hemlock products. This acquisition complemented their existing facilities, including Lumby Pole and Oroville.
In 1999, Gorman Bros focused on enhancing the quality of their lumber by constructing a 60,000-square-foot storage facility to keep lumber dry until shipment. They also introduced the Waco Molder, becoming the first to use a moulder to create boards with a furniture-finish edge.
Commitment to Values and Community
Gorman Bros. has consistently emphasized quality, innovation, and community engagement. The company operates in the traditional territories of the Secwepemc, Sylix/Okanagan, and K’tunaxa peoples, fostering respectful relationships with Indigenous communities.

Sprenger Midwest and Gorman Bros. Lumber

NEW Synthetic fiber-based Technology
Wood fiber-based materials have a unique look and feel that have appealed to architects, building professionals, and homeowners for centuries. However, the durability of these materials are negatively impacted by nearly all climates, whether humid or dry, or cold or hot.
RISE Siding and RISE Trim are also manufactured using a fibrous-based technology – RISE® Technology – however, the synthetic fiber-based technology we use makes our wood replacement products look and feel just like real wood. They're also:
Stronger than products made from non-fibrous materials, including wood flour, silica dust and extruded plastics.
More capable of holding up under all weather conditions, including high moisture and severe freeze/thaw conditions, because, like plastic, they will outperform wood, wood flour and silicabased products.

Sprenger Midwest is proud to stock AC Fir Plywood from Roseburg and PotlatchDeltic.

NEW! Finger-Jointed Laminated Columns
By Diamond K Posts
Glued with Waterproof Glue Engineered by Timber Tech
Made with #1 KD Southern Yellow Pine .60 CCAKDAT on lower end with a 50-yr warranty on treatment.
Only the best raw materials are used in Diamond K Posts and we start with #1 Southern Pine lumber for both treated and untreated portions of the column. The bottom treated part of the column is protected against rot, decay and insect damage (.60 CCA).
SPECIALTY STRUCTURAL FRAMING COLUMNS
Individual plys have more complete treating than larger solids. Straighter, stronger and lighter columns greatly reduce labor cost in field as well as eliminate call backs. Posts won't crack or split and are of uniform dimensions with lumber planned to specific sizes
Untreated portion on upper end eliminate the need for hot-dipped, galvanized nails. Longer lengths available in a minimal amount of time from placement of order.
Individual plys can be notched for a superior truss bearing connection.
Adhesive between plys greatly cut down on interior layer slip resulting in better weak-axis stiffness.
