Climate neutrality

At ULMA Lifting Solutions, sustainability is a fundamental pillar that guides our decisions and actions, both in product development and in our internal management. We are proud to offer innovative, energy-efficient solutions — such as our hygienic solutions and high-performance equipment — designed with sustainability in mind.

Our initiatives include energy efficiency projects, such as the installation of solar panels to reduce our carbon footprint and the transition towards renewable energy. We have also implemented the replacement of lighting systems with LED technology, which not only reduces costs but also improves the quality of lighting in our facilities.

In terms of resource management, we highlight our “Zero Paper” policy at Inoxtruck, which has made it possible to digitise documentation and reduce paper usage through the use of QR codes. In addition, we have undertaken an ambitious battery recycling project, recycling 35 tonnes—representing 40% of total recycling in 2022.

Our circular economy strategy also extends to servitisation and equipment rental, which prolongs product lifespans and reduces waste generation. We work to design more sustainable products, using circular economy principles to minimise the use of raw materials and maximise equipment durability.

We also have a strong commitment to reducing waste and increasing material recovery, aligned with the ULMA Group’s goal of achieving climate neutrality by 2050. This initiative is supported by internal policies on recycling, emissions reduction and resource efficiency, which are integrated into all our operational processes.

In line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), our actions also include sustainable mobility projects, such as the ekokilometro-ciclogreen initiative, which encourages car-sharing and the use of sustainable modes of transport.

Our ISO 14001:2015 environmental management certification, together with ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 accreditations, reinforces our commitment to quality, safety and respect for the environment. These certifications ensure that our practices not only meet the highest international standards, but also reflect our dedication to building a more sustainable future for all.

Pharmaceutical industry – Handling of metal barrels in clean rooms.

Spain.

Implementation of a semi-electric stacker to optimise handling in confined spaces.

About Laboratorios Liconsa

Context and needs

Implemented solution

Laboratorios Liconsa is a leading name in the European pharmaceutical industry, specialising in the manufacture of key medications such as Omeprazole and Lansoprazole. Its commitment to innovation and quality positions it as a strategic player in the sector.

Liconsa faced difficulties handling metal barrels in its clean rooms, which are characterised by confined spaces and strict hygiene standards. The need to lift loads to great heights without compromising safety and ergonomics required a specific, compact and corrosion-resistant solution.

To address these challenges, Inoxtruck designed a custom EMS200 semi-electric stacker with key features:

Compact design – Adapted to operate in confined spaces without losing efficiency.

Duplex electric mast – Lifting capacity of up to 2,585 mm, optimising high-level handling.

Advanced clamping and rotation – Electric clamping system with 360° rotation and speed control, improving precision and ergonomics.

Hygienic construction – Built in AISI 304 stainless steel with IP65 protection, ensuring durability and ease of cleaning.

Project impact

Greater efficiency – Reduced time in barrel handling, optimising workflow.

• Improved ergonomics – Elimination of manual effort and reduction of workplace risks.

Hygienic compliance – Equipment designed to ensure the cleaning and disinfection required in the pharmaceutical industry.

Precise adaptation – A completely customised solution for an environment with unique conditions.

Conclusion

Liconsa chose Inoxtruck for its ability to provide customised, innovative solutions adapted to the most demanding environments. The implementation of the EMS200 transformed the laboratory’s operations, improving safety, ergonomics and efficiency.

This project demonstrates Inoxtruck’s commitment to excellence in the pharmaceutical industry, providing equipment that combines technology, hygiene and optimal performance.

Case Study

Process optimisation in the dairy industry.

Corporación Alimentaria Peñasanta, S.A. (CAPSA / Central Lechera Asturiana).

Production and packaging of milk in PET bottles and Tetra cartons.

Spain.

Automation of the transfer and handling of defective containers.

Corporación Alimentaria Peñasanta, S.A. (CAPSA), known for brands such as Central Lechera Asturiana, is a benchmark in the dairy industry. Specialising in the production and packaging of milk and dairy products, its commitment to quality and innovation positions it as a leader in the sector.

In its production line, CAPSA faced a challenge in managing defective containers generated by filling, labelling or transport errors. Manually transporting them to the waste area was time-consuming and physically demanding, affecting productivity and team well-being. In addition, exposure to milk and its derivatives required equipment that was highly corrosion-resistant and easy to clean.

To tackle these challenges, Inoxtruck designed a mechanised solution tailored to CAPSA’s needs, incorporating:

4 EPS stackers — to facilitate the efficient transfer of containers from the production line to the waste area.

2 EBT 10S tippers — to automate feeding the shredder, improving precision and safety.

Both machines feature a hygienic design, surfaces resistant to corrosive environments, and high ergonomics, ensuring optimal performance in demanding conditions.

Greater productivity – Reduced time spent on waste management and optimised use of resources.

• Improved ergonomics – Elimination of manual effort and reduction of workplace risks.

Hygienic compliance – Equipment designed for daily cleaning without affecting its reliability.

Operational sustainability – Low-maintenance, long-life equipment adapted to adverse conditions.

CAPSA chose Inoxtruck for its innovation, customisation and technical experience. The implementation of this mechanised solution optimised operations, improved team ergonomics and enhanced the sustainability of the process.

This project reaffirms Inoxtruck’s commitment to excellence in the dairy industry, demonstrating that the combination of technology and innovation is key to overcoming operational challenges.
