PFA/FEP LINED BALL VALVE
RFFL SERIES
The Superseal RFFL lined ball valve utilises PFA lining which has the same chemical inertness as PTFE. Due to its chemical composition, PFA retains a high amount of mechanical strength at elevated temperatures. Up to 200°C (400°F).
The Superseal Model RFFL Energised Flexible Seat gives the ball a light loaded cushioning effect in all positions. The line pressure against the floating ball further energises the seat. Therefore the higher the pressure the tighter the seal, whilst at low pressures the valve is easier to turn than brands.
The inherent lubricity properties of the PTFE seat give the Ball a cushioning effect and this combined with coated Ball & integral stem ensures no jamming or stem breakage. The resilient cushioning effect also extends the life of the valve. Traditional 2 piece ball & stem design, with ‘Flat’ teflon seats place more strain on all components. In larger sizes a trunnion mounted ball is also available to further ensure no stem or seat leakage, caused by the operator forcing the ball off axis due to particulates jamming the seating area.

Flowturn 3-way valves provide lateral diverting flow from a common inlet to either side exit with a quarter turn, alternatively diverting flow from a single source to two different lines. The valve is a Transflow-Diverting type, so the possibility of completely stopping flow during port positioning is eliminated. However, this also means probable product mixing during a portion of the port change. Care must be taken at a blocked port not to exceed that of the flowing media by more than 1723 kPa (250 psi), or temperature at the blocked port not to exceed flowing media more than 93°C (200ºF). The valves are designed for flow either into or out of the common side port.

1. Durability
The metal contact mechanism between ball and seat is ensured by spring energised seat and provides long life.
2. Half opening control
The metal mechanism enables the possibility of half opening the valve to control flow.
Consult us, as options like V-Port may need to be considered. Also extreme wear through cavitation can occur when valve is in half open position.
3. Low torque operation
Small friction coefficient between ball and seat, and spring energised seats make manual operation easy.
4. Leakage

PRINCIPLES OF VALVE DESIGN
The standard SLHBF/SLHBFFS design is double offset (double Available in firesafe & non firesafe in soft and metal seated. seated version incorporates a metal seat retainer with an insert for high pressure service and long life.
The basic concept of the SLHBF/SLHBFFS is to only utilise thin slice of a ball valve at the seat ring area. The body is only wide enough to hold the disc, shaft & seat in place, all the remaining material is eliminated because it serves no purpose. Ball valves have 2 seats, but floating balls only seal on the upstream seat hence the sealing effectiveness of a HP Butterfly Valve is the same. The disc seating edge is a segment of a sphere and creates a reliable, high pressure seal against an un-interrupted 360º seat sealing surface. The disc profile is very thin & allows maximum flow with a low pressure drop.
The most common use of the SLHBF/SLHBFFS is to shut-off flow inside a pipeline. Every component of the valve is designed to contribute to this goal. The disc, shaft, bearings, packing & disc pins all work together to ensure that the disc is accurately positioned when closed to allow the seat to energise to the disc & create a seal.

At the point of the disc opening, the double offset disc provides a cam-like action, thus preventing excessive seat wear & ensuring a long maintenance free life.

PTFE-Seat System - SLHBF/SLHBFFS
In the preferred flow-direction, the PTFE-Seat system provides optimum performance. In this design, the line pressure acts as a positive force in the seat system even in fluctuating working conditions. The seat ring is retained by a metal seat retainer and is well protected by the valve-body, thus preventing seat distortion.
Bi-directional* - SLHBF/SLHBFFS
The primary PTFE-seat ring is backed up by a secondary metal ring. This metal seat provides a mechanical load to energize the PTFE-seat. The metal sealing ring secures and encapsulates the PTFE ring to ensure rigidity. In combination with the line pressure a Bi-directional* sealing against the line pressure is obtained.
* Bi-directional flow, however, bi-directional leak tight shut off must be specified with order.
Fire Safe - SLHBFFS
The model SLHBFFS has a secondary metal seat which gives bi-directional sealing in the event of the PTFE seat insert being burned away in a fire.
Metal to Metal Seat - SLHBF/SLHBFFS
High temperature service and Abrasive service. Bi-directional and inherently firesafe design. The primary metal seal enables this execution to be used up to 670°C. Seat-rings available are stainless steel ANSI 316L-chromium plated, (maximum allowed temperature: 310°C) and Inconel 625 (maximum allowed temperature: 760°C). As a result the Metal to Metal range meets the full pressure and temperature rating according to ANSI class ratings. PRINCIPLES OF VALVE DESIGN - TRIPLE OFFSET
Superseal Model SLHBFFS-T 150 to 2500 Class triple offset metal seat butterfly valves provide a bi-directional and bubble-tight shut-off which is attributed to the geometry of the triple offset seat. Available in metal to metal and metal laminated graphite seat designs. Can also be used for flow control linear flow characteristics between 90 degrees and 70 degrees of opening.
The valve stem is offset from the seat area (1st offset) and the valve seat surface centre line is offset against the centre line of the pipe (2nd offset) and the conical axis is offset from the valve centre line (3rd offset: inclined cone). The 3rd offset completely eliminates rubbing or scraping. The seat surfaces of the body and seal ring in this triple offset design, contact with an inclined “cone-in-cone”, and this design requires precision seating tolerances and durability to ensure a slight precision lapped wedge-mating effect. In addition, the angle of contact between the body and seat ring provides a low opening and closing torque due to almost no wedging and no scraping action on opening or closing (unlike trunnion mounted ball valves). This eccentric triple offset design provides excellent sealing performance and seat durability and it hardly ever needs repair under normal service conditions.
The seat design can be all metal to metal (optional resilient metal seat design) or multiple laminated using resilient metal alternated with one or even two of the following laminations depending on service: - graphite/aramid fibre/ ceramic fibre.

The APV-Superseal triple offset butterfly valve design incorporates metallic composite cone bevelling. The cam effect ensures the valve seat can be released from the seal ring through the whole switching process with zero friction between valve seat and plate seal ring during the entire stroke process. This extends valve life, ensures no overtravel of the disc, allows for a lower torque and ensures bubble tight closure of the valve, resulting in zero-leakage performance.
The butterfly plate seal ring is designed as multi-layered seal ring. This seal compresses on a radial basis and move flexibly and elastically.

Due to the elasticity and the radial compression of the multiple laminated seal ring, the contact pressure is uniformly distributed around the seating surface guaranteeing zero leakage.

The vulcanised tongue and grooved seat design with spherical sealing provides rigidity to prevent distortion at higher pressure and ensures compression between the precision profile disc and seat. The rolling action of the disc coupled with the stability of the seat eliminates any tearing or bunching thus minimising seat damage.
Vulcanising the elastomer liner combined with a tongue and grooved body ensures complete support and increased stability to the seat to withstand higher pressures. This guarantees positive control against distortion, particularly in the stem seal area, eliminating risks of leakage.
The seat design only has a small volume of elastomer swelling hence the torque is reduced and longer life is assured.

SUPER-CHECK is a non-slam check valve because it operates on flow cessation, not flow reversal. The normal position of the plates is closed, held against the seat by the unique spring design. As flow begins, the heels of the two plates are lifted off the seat face on the central rib.
This cracking pressure is less than 14 kPa (2 psi) across most of the range (larger sizes can be more). As flow increases, the plates then pivot against the spring pressure. Since the heels have already lifted off the seat there isno scrub or wear, either on the seat, body or plate seating surfaces. A pressure of only 28 kPa (4 psi) is required to keep the plates fully open (up to 400 NB).
When flow stops and the pressure ceases, the spring closes the plates. Flow reversal is then stopped by the closed Supercheck valve and in fact any back pressure only serves to make the valve seal more tightly.

Do away with expensive full SS bodied valves. The TUF-SKIN is factory bonded over all “wetted areas” i.e. in bore & full faces Viton or EPDM or teflon over entire valve with S/S or A-Bronze trim. The external body can be epoxy coated. Only the outer body is iron, even the flange faces are fully encased by the liner.
R in front of figure # denotes Rubber Check Tuf-Skin design. This design gives a much larger and together seating area for better seal and longer life. Also ideal where even stainless steel is subject to corrosion. This design prevents eventual leakage of o-ring seals normally used in soft seated duo-checks and also provides superior seal on flange contact area. The seat and flange face are both ribbed for superior sealing.

The SLP and SW Unicheck Swing Check Valve is available up to 700mm in various body materials and dimensions. The SW Series is retainerless. The SLP and SLP-T is non retainerless design and lends itself to applications requiring limit/micro switches, counter weights etc. The SLP and SW flapper has spring assisted closing, suitable for horizontal or upwards vertical service (downwards requires an external closing spring, which is an available option only in SLP and SLP-T Series). Design is to API 594 face toface dimension generally in accordance with ASME B16.10 short pattern/ API 6D long pattern and tested to API 598/ISO 5208. The SLP/SW series has a large bore providing a larger flow when compared to dual flap style or slim line uniflap checks. The SLP and SW 125 Class is ideal for waterworks & chemical service, whilst the 150 up to 1500 Class range is suitable for oil and gas service & has an intrinsically firesafe design.

The SLP/SW series valves are designed to be fully automatic in function. The smooth opening and closing action reduces line hammer to a minimum SLP/SW series valves are engineered to present an essentially unobstructed orifice.
Simplified design

LARGE PORT SIZE
Inlet ports and disc have been shape optimized to achieve a fully open position at low flow rates. Therefore, the SLP/SW series operates exceptionally well in the flow rates typically found in pipeline containing control valves and lines with varying media flows.
Compare the SLP/SW series to typical full-sized swing check valves. Due in part to their oversized, heavier discs, these valves only fully open at larger flow rates. When activated at a lower flow rate, these valves lose true controllability and do not fully open. A partially open disc creates an obstruction that produces a higher pressure drop and fluttering of the disc valvedisturbing the flow & increasing the chance of water hammer.

BALL CHECK VALVE - BC SERIES
APPLICATION & CHARACTERISTICS
These full port ball checks with uninterrupted flow (equal to bore of pipe) are resistant to clogging and are ideal for wastewater, stormwater treatment, pumping dirty fluids. There is no accumulation of debris/deposits and the valve can be cleaned in-line without removal of entire valve and other neutral liquid applications. They can be used in horizontal & vertical service. BC series check valves have a low head loss and are self-cleaning due to the rotating ball.

OVERVIEW
The unique design of the hi-strength fabric reinforced rubber flapper disc creates an elastic spring to close-against the flow, combined with the tilted body seat (closing angle 35o) act to reduce the closing time, minimise the water hammer and flow reversal. Simplicity of design with three components (body, disc & cover) in one valve, and disc, hinge and pin are integral and fully encapsulated with special rubber for maintenance free, longlife, 1,000,000 continuous cycles tested with no sign of wear or distortion to the valve side and seat, body and cover are ductile iron. This valve will operate trouble free for a longer period compared to conventional check valves.

For installation in applications such as industrial, mining and mechanical services Suitable for super-heated steam, H.T.H.W steam condensate and water.
This design consists of two discs, kept in contact with parallel body seats, using the line pressure and seating action to effect tight closure.
Temperature changes in the line are accommodated by the expanding disc & do not affect the action of the valve. When being opened or closed, the discs slide across the seat faces, dislodging any foreign matter. The valve operating stem is outside screw rising through the handwheel. These valves are suitable for full bore steam use, where a low pressure drop across the valve is required. Also suitable for water, oil, gas, etc.

Resilient seated uni-directional valves are tested leak tight up to 4 Bar (Elastomer) and 2.8 Bar (PTFE) on seat. The Flowturn DCNP is one of the only Knife Gate designs in the world offering a rugged and flexible PTFE seated valve with a tight shut-off. Above 4 Bar these pressures seat leakage rate is estimated at up to 2.66 drops/minute/inch (0.11 drips/minute/DN) as per MSS-SP61. However an actual seat test can be performed above 4.0 Bar if required. Special packing systems and bonnet designs are available for high pressure applications.
Flow direction is from the oposite side of the valve for the seat This provides superior shut-off by pressure energising the gate against the seat and also protects the seat.

REPLACEABLE SEATS
Encapsulated Bi-directional seats ensure water tight shut-off in both directions. When seats do wear and need replacement, replacing the seat is easy.
GATE DESIGN
Each gate is precision ground and hard chrome plated as a standard. This provides superior abrasion and corrosion resistance. The edges are polished flat.
GUIDING GUIDES
Gate guides at the valve inlet and outlet (top & bottom) ensure alignment of gate throughout it’s travel.
DOUBLE STEM BEARINGS (Handwheel operated only)
At the top of the yoke, our knife gate valves are equipped with two stem bearings in a stainless steel housing and a grease nipple for reduced torque and easy operation.
PACKING
Proprietary multi-layer composite packing system ensures tight shut-off across a wide temperature range. Packing is fully adjustable and for non-hazardous service can be replaced without removing valve from line provided the line has been isolated and the valve is not under pressure. For air or gas applications, some packing leakage will occur, especially at higher pressures.
KNIFE GATE VALVE - MODEL DCNP-B
STANDARD DESIGN FEATURES
Bi-directional wafer style, fully lugged, rising stem full flow integral body knife gate offering true bi-directional tight shut off (resilient seat) clockwise close on-off operation. The DCNP-B model has multi row composite packing system and double row stem bearings (handwheel operated only). Stainless steel safety guards and stem protector are also included. Suitable for pulp, sludge, water, chemicals, bio-mass, slurry, bio-gas (not air tight). The gate is fully guided in the body throughout its entire travel to provide true bi-directional service.
BODY
• Mono block integral body for extra strength and leak tightness.
• Cast-in gate guide claws (top & bottom) ensure a tight energised seal and eliminates potential valve shut-off clogging while avoiding seat damage.
• Unique multi row packing system comprises braided PTFE/silicon/PTFE-sheet to form a composite sealing system ensuring drip tight shut-off for different media/temperature and pressure applications.
• Suitable for dead-end service.

GATE
• Gate surface is polished and hard chrome plated both sides.
• Polished flat both faces and edges all around seating surface. The machining of the body inside, allows for more control in the different dimensions tolerances. This machining results in a perfect adjustment of the body with the gate and seal, reducing the required torque to maintain the tightness and avoiding any build-up of solids that could prevent the valve from closing. The valve design allows an end-of-line installation. Full port design in all cases for greater flow capacity and minimal pressure drop. The gate is guided on the whole stroke to ensure bi-directional shutoff.
SEAT
• Precision design side-entry seat is replaceable, reducing the cost of maintenance.
• Replaceable seat is encapsulated into the integral valve body and ensures bi-directional flow.
• For air or gas applications leakage will occur especially at higher pressures.
• Seat is encapsulated into the body in contact with the gate all over its perimeter. This layout provides an adequate water tightness and seamless liquid flow in both directions. The seat is protected by the body itself.

Flowturn ‘HB’ Series Globe Pattern Needle Valves are specially designed and ruggedly manufactured for use in corrosive and hazardous environment. ‘HB’ Series valves are used in process control, instrumentation and flow control applications. ‘HB’ Series are precision machined, and designed for durability and maximum efficiency to provide a high quality valve for use in fluid and gaseous control systems of different applications, to meet the exacting standards of our growing and demanding customers. The model S-M9 is complete with an integral bleed plug.
Flowturn ‘HB’ Series Valves are available in high grade stainless steel, carbon steel, monel and other materials in variety of end connections including male / female threaded NPT, BSP, BSPT, ISO, EN-DIN and JIS tapered pipe ends. Valves can be supplied to meet current revision of NACE MR01-75 (Sour Gas Service). All valves are 100% factory tested and complete traceability is available upon request.

The Flowturn range of Manifolds offer a safe and economical method of installation to control and measure pressure of liquids and gaseous media. They are ruggedly manufactured and precision machined to the most exacting dimensional tolerance to ensure perfect installation and application.
Flowturn Manifolds are functionally installed to control, measure, isolate, equalise, calibrate, drain, vent or differentiate the pressure of liquids and gases.
Flowturn Manifold series offer optional 2, 3 and 5 valve configurations which come in remote mounting (pipe to pipe), direct mounting (pipe to flange, flange to flange) onto the instrument on a 2 1/8 ” (54mm) centre.

Australian Pipeline Valve Plug Valves are manufactured to cover a wide range of applications.
APV Quarter Turn Plug Valves are excellent for consistent and accurate flow control of gases and viscous liquids can be designed from corrosion resistant materials to meet the needs of abrasive media, even in high temperature and high pressure applications.
Excellent for gas, but also ideally suited for viscous liquids, APV plug valves regulate fluid flow with the use of conically tapered or cylindrical plugs that can be rotated inside the valve body.
APV plug valves are available in three versions: short, regular and venturi patterns. With a compact face to face dimension, short plug valves are suitable for applications where some flow rate reduction can be accepted. Regular pattern plug valves maintain flow with minimal loss and have a longer face to face dimension. When the flow rate is not critical, venturi pattern plug valves minimise pressure drop with a long lead in and out of the port.

• Low temperature service suitable from - 46°C to + 232°C (-50°F + 450°F) - normally used for below zero temperatures to - 46ºC must have a minimum average charpy “V” notch impact strength a / 15 foot / Lb.
NACE MR.01.75.
• In natural gas it is possible to encounter small amounts of Hydrogen Sulfides (H2S) which may cause corrosion.
The phenomenon is normally known as “Hydrogen Sulfide Embrittlement” or “Sulfide Stress Cracking”.
The absorption of Hydrogen from part of steel causes ductility which, when added to other elements of stress caused by the service itself, may cause failure of the forged or cast component. Steels with yield strengths above 621 Mpa (90,000 PSI) or with hardness over 22 rockwell (235 Brinell) may be subject to “Sulfide Stress Cracking”.
In Nace MR.01.75 all basic material components are properly treated in order to remain bellow the hardness of 22 rockwell. In such a case, plugs are electro nickel coated or hardened to prevent galling action.
• A 18.12 stainless steel material which contains Molybdenum is suitable for service temperature from -232°C to + 371°C (- 450°F to 700°F). Normally used for valves for high temperature service or where high corrosion resistance is needed.
SPECIAL
• Trim in 13% Chr. - 316 - Monel, Stellite No. 6 (coating). Body in WC6, F51, CF8M, ENP etc.
• Optionally available, Xylan™or LoMu® style (similar) PTFE impregnated anti-friction coating on plug & stem for superior corrosion resistance with the added advantage of reduced torque. Xylan™ is a PTFE based compound frequently used to coat valve components to provide offshore corrosion resistance. F6a/410 Stainless Steel is also available for superior hardness characteristics while being an effective anti-corrosive material.

The standard style plug valve has the stem extended from the top of the valve. The valves have a bolted cover which retains the plug in case the gland is removed. The gland maintains the pressure in the cover and prevents any leakage through the stem as well as retaining the plug in position.The gland supports the packing and acts as an anti-friction bearing to prevent stem packing rotation.
Plug lubrication grease is injected through a nipple (fitted with a check valve). Greasing can be done when the valve is under pressure.The plug grooves avoid grease leakage into the line as during rotation each groove is isolated from the other grooves
