As a person who has created events for over 20 plus years, that struggle really doesn't change Everybody has a struggle with making the ask One year I was tasked, as a leader, with making an ask to one of our big sponsors for $10,000. Of course, when you're planning on bringing in speakers and people that pour into the lives of your attendees, it takes a lot of money to do that at times. So, therefore, I had to make that ask, right?

I had put a big goal on my list that year to raise $30,000 of the overall $120,000 that we had planned for the budget that year. So I decided I was just going to wait for that right opportunity; that right time to make the ask. And I kept waiting. I don't know what I was waiting for I guess I was waiting for God to say, hey, it's the right time, you need to go ahead and ask

And finally, I decided it was time to book that appointment and show up and make the ask. But I did wait quite a while, and by the time I got to the appointment, I asked for the amount that I wanted And of

A Closed Mouth

doesnotgetfed

course, at the end of the day, I didn't get what I wanted, only got 2500, which was far below that the goal I had set for myself as far as the ask So what did I learn from that experience? Number one, after that, I decided to make a list of the things, that I won that year and what I didn't win that year.

And I suggest that you make a note and do the same. And what I learned is when is the perfect time to ask? When should you ask somebody that you plan to be a sponsor and what should you do before going in to make the ask?

Number one, you should definitely write down who those key people are that you're going to make the ask to. So know your contact person and always set up and find out, do your homework and find out who your backup person is because sometimes that's not the right door that you're going through

So, therefore, I learned from my experiences, to make a plan. Write your list ahead of time on who you plan to go to. And the time to ask is right now.

And the old saying, the early bird gets the worm Well, that's true It's just like they say, the squeaky wheel gets the oil Well, if you don't ask if you don't say, "hey, I really need your help", and tell the person what you're asking for, you can't get it. So you need to make the ask. The sooner you do, the better your chances are at getting it

I know because I went to the same person the next year as they had told me, had I come in a month

earlier, I could have got what I asked for. But because I waited and waited and I allowed fear to hold me back, I was not able to get the amount that I really needed to be to have When I came back the next year, I learned from my experience and asked early I was able to get even more than what I planned for the year before because I showed up early and I didn't allow fear to hold me back.

You have to learn to walk with faith. You have to learn to walk it and not talk about it You got to move in it And then the other thing is you have to be willing to hear the word "no" Sometimes you're going to hear no, no and another no.

But guess what? No is a long way to yes. Because sometimes the first door you go to, that's not the right door and sometimes it is But you may have to try another door or you may have to try around that But trust me, most of the time people want to help

If you have something that you are doing that is helping other people, pouring into other people's lives, lifting people up, inspiring and empowering and building up people, people are going to want to be a part of that So if they say no, that doesn't mean that you don't go back Sometimes you may be presenting it wrong, maybe it's not the key things they're looking for. So you need to do your homework. But know this, a no is always a long way to a yes.

So knock on the door again or try another door, but definitely don't give up And if you don't make the ask, the mouth doesn't get fed

Your Buyer Before the Sale VALUE

With so much software, technology, and automation promising more and more clients, we sometimes forget to focus on the buyer Even upon searching “valuing the buyer” and “valuing the client”, the results generated information citing the benefits of more sales and transactions. Not as many articles inspire solutions and transformations. Not at all shocking that so many sellers struggle with converting prospects into clients. Here are 5 methods to VALUE your buyers’.

V: Visualize Sales Success!

Begin with the end in mind. Ask yourself, what will it feel like for you and the buyer once you’ve created a win-win? Take the time to clarify what sales success means to you… define your why. Picture in your mind how you will look and feel when you and your client are celebrating creating their best possible solution! All greatness is first envisioned. WRITE and review sales targets regularly.

A: Align Beliefs & Behaviors!

You will only ever achieve what you believe. It’s quite normal to feel uncertainty and discomfort when you start on a journey toward something new. This adjustment requires aligning your expectations of success with your emotions of failure. Take time to rewrite any negative beliefs in a new positive way that aligns with your vision. Focus on the value you propose, not the sale close.

L: Listen for the Buying Signals!

The only way you can listen is by asking questions. This involves research and preparation. To have something you’ve never had demands doing something you’ve never done. Do your homework and review the LinkedIn profiles of prospects and key players, research the company and reach out for support from those who have succeeded and are succeeding. Leave no stone unturned.

U: Unlimited Resilience!

People fail not for the lack of resources, but instead for the lack of resourcefulness. Target, your products, and your services are a dream. Who do you already know that you can call, follow up with, and ask for guidance? Make a list and start calling. Remember to smile and dial.

E: Experiment with Excellence!

The only clear and discernable path to successful sales are the ones from last quarter. The sellers who are most likely to hit their targets hedge their bets with practice and repetition. You don’t need to see the end to take ONE step. Daily gratitude will keep you going when the going gets tough.

WHEN YOUR CUP IS EMPTY

We all have struggles in life. Many of us deal with learning how to love ourselves first and allow our boundaries to go out the window.

Even when things start to make us unhappy, many times we smile through it just to make everyone else happy The way we start allowing others to break us down during times we need to support the most can lead us to a dark place. This is not a good place to be. This book isn’t so much about my past relationship but a trigger that showed me that I was lacking self-love, selfcare, and self-respect. I had lost myself because of how I allowed someone else to treat me.

I learned before committing to another person in a relationship, it is important to have a mutual understanding that the two of you are not in things alone, but together. We must have enough faith and believe that God is FIRST He is the only one who can redirect and rebuild us

I’m excited to have this workable journal come to life. Inside these pages, it is my hope that you will find inspiration, positive affirmations, messages, and fun interactive activities to encourage you to think about who you really are. The journal will challenge you to learn how well you know YOURSELF.

TIME forYourself WITHOUT SACRIFICING Work or Family

As a professional woman, you are used to juggling a million different balls at any given time. You are expected to be Superwoman able to do it all and have it all But the truth is, this lifestyle is unsustainable At some point, something has to give You are overextended, overcommitted, and stressed out What you need is an empowerment coach who understands what you are going through. Someone who can help you find time for yourself without feeling guilty and have it all without sacrificing health or happiness.

Here are three ways for you to try:

1. Set Priorities

The first step is to sit down and make a list of your priorities. What is most important to you? What do you want to achieve? Once you have your priorities straight, it will be easier to start making changes in your life For example, if your priority is to spend more time with your family, then you might need to start saying "no" to work commitments that will take you away from home

The second step is to schedule "me time" into your day. This is time that is just for you no work, no family, no distractions. It is important to make this time nonnegotiable. Put it in your calendar and treat it like any other important meeting Me time can be used however you want reading, taking a yoga class, going for a walk the sky's the limit!

3. Cut Out the Energy Drains in Your Life

The third and final step is to cut out the energy drains in your life. This includes anything that sucks up your time and energy without giving anything back in return. Say goodbye to Netflix binges, social media scrolling, and negative energy conversations about things that don't matter. These activities will leave you feeling drained

Kathy A. Greggs

Interested in learning about community issues that affect you and your community? No one in Fayetteville, Cumberland County, NC is as knowledgeable and experienced in this field as Ms. Kathy A Greggs. Ms. Greggs is the epitome of advocacy for the people. Talk about changing laws that change lives; she is a force to be reckoned with. Yes, she knows how to get the job done. One good thing is that Ms. Kathy is not a politician, but a woman of high regard with a strong passion to stand for her community’s fight for protection and equality.

It all began in Camden, New Jersey. Born into a military family where both parents served this country, Kathy learned at an early age the importance of discipline, rights, and standing your ground when right. This young lady grew into a powerful woman using her life experiences to take on agencies and organizations that oppress others and overused their authority and positions.

While serving in the military, Kathy herself faced opposition and challenges that led to shining the light on the disparities between female soldiers and military policies and procedures that protected those in authority who were mostly men. Her stance against military sexual abuse eventually changed policies and justice was served. The emotional scars and her personal assault led her to fight for others who kept silent. Yes, she was not afraid to walk alone if it corrected a violation.

A pioneer in her own right, Ms Greggs continues to dedicate her life to what she strongly believes What exactly does Ms. Kathy Greggs believe in? She believes that all communities including the disenfranchised and demarginalized need infrastructure for sustainability. She believes that all people have a right to justice.

Her latest project led her to the reauthorizing of the Lautenberg Amendment the Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban of 1996 prohibited the possession of a firearm by anyone convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence. There was no exemption for public service officials or those required to carry a firearm. The bill’s sponsor, Frank Lautenberg, became its namesake. Added to recent accomplishments is the reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA).

These are great accomplishments protecting women suffering domestic violence crimes and their recovery. Greggs is currently a teacher at the Department of Defense Education Activity Elementary School at Fort Bragg, NC being a guiding light for all to emulate

During the height of the Coronavirus pandemic 2021, Ms Greggs fought for rental assistance for individuals facing evictions especially when the state received 85 million dollars of which only 15 million dollars was issued to the over 300,00 people in need. This pledge led to guidance to navigate and expedite the process which in turn minimized mass evictions in Cumberland County.

Success Women's Magazine

Priceless Daughters of the King

Dr. Sharon Arrindell

alk about her clothing as revealed in Proverbs 31: = "She girds herself with strength and makes her strong."

= "her clothing is fine linen and purple."

= "Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she s at the future."

could venture to say, like the songwriter some ago, "I AM WOMAN HEAR ME ROAR", and late whether they could accomplish her persona t into her mold My sisters in Christ I venture to e can, but only by the grace bestowed on us by ather When we enter into a genuine relationship Him, we are branded as His called and glorious tance (Ephesians 1:18)

Proverbs 31:10 exhorts: "Who can find a virtuous and capable wife? She is more precious than rubies” As one reads through this most memorable proverb, the writer makes a declaration about the woman of virtue, whom God aspires that all His daughters strive to become Her characteristics are of being trustworthy, hard-working, prudent, excellent, respectful, strong, professional, helpful, classy, regal, humorous, kind, energetic, virtuous, and absolutely "priceless". The author of this awe-inspiring scripture explains that this woman is worth more than rubies. Though the celebrated saying announces diamonds to be "a girl's best friend," rubies and sapphires are mentioned more often as priceless jewels in the Bible. Therefore, this woman of virtue is viewed as precious and expensive to those who recognize her likable qualities.

This daughter of the King of kings adorns herself with inward beauty and grace that can only exude as a result of her relationship with the Lover of her soul. According to one source "Great heat and pressure were required to transform the source materials in rubies into the hard mineral that they become" Hence, this description of those most blessed to be called God's daughters requires that they endure great heat and pressure, to become the precious jewels God intends

However, there is a price to be paid and it happens in the crucible of combat If you've ever wondered why the trials seem so severe, or why the enemy is always on your tail? The answer lies in your becoming the priceless ruby God intends. One jewel expert said "One of the most remarkable things about the formation of rubies is that geologists are not sure how it happens. Without question, however, the very existence of rubies is something of a minor geological miracle". Experts also said "Rubies are a red variety of transparent corundum" and corundum is a rare find. As daughters of the King, we too are rare finds and must carry ourselves as such. We are continuously fashioned on the Potter's wheel, which at times can be a painful process. To Be Continued…

MYRELATIONSHIP JOURNEYTO HEALING WITHGOD

My journey to building my relationship with God to heal started ten months ago when I found out that I was diagnosed with an autoimmune condition and lupus. Over the next ten months, I would start my journey of chemotherapy and numerous procedures and test. These tests would all come back negative and leave the doctors scratching their heads trying to find out what was wrong with me and why I could not eat or keep anything down. I was numb myself for the last few months as well. Then my twentyeight-year-old cousin would be murdered during this time of illness.

But the one thing that would remain consistent in my life was reading my word, praying, and writing in my journal daily to God I started to apply principles that I had never done before because God placed some mighty women of God in my life who would not allow me to die or give up in this fight But most of all I had God and His word first and far most So, I started studying the names of God and what they meant to my life

I had Jehovah Adonai (Isaiah 9:6 KJV)

I had Jehovah Chereb (Hebrew 4:12 KJV)

I had Jehovah Elkanna (Exodus 34:3 KJV)

I had Jehovah Elnose (Luke 7:36-50 KJV)

I had Jehovah Elohim (Genesis 1:1 KJV)

I had Jehovah Elroi ( Genesis 16 KJV)

I had Jehovah Elyon (Psalm 57:2 KJV)

I had Jehovah Ezer (Deuteronomy 33:7 KJV)

I had Jehovah Imneka (Judges 6:12 KJV)

I had Jehovah Jireh (Genesis 22:14 KJV)

I had Jehovah Nissi (Exodus 17:15 KJV)

I had Jehovah Ori (Psalm 27:1 KJV)

I had Jehovah Rapha (Exodus 15:26 KJV)

I had Jehovah Rohi (Psalm 23:1 KJV)

I had Jehovah Shalom (Judges 6:24 KJV)

I learned who Jehovah God was to me and it strengthen my relationship. My eyes were

to a whole new life and I was using wisdom daily and applying it. So, I pray you apply the word to build your relationship with God.
