From the Editor

HELLO DEAR READER! I hope this finds you and your loved ones in good health. It's July! Gosh, I can't believe we have turned the corner on this year already. I hear across the board, and I agree, that the days, weeks, and months are going by way too fast! I keep trying to schedule fun trips but keep hitting roadblocks. Gulf Shores has been the extent of my adventures this year. Still, I'm grateful for what I get to do. Now that summer is officially here, we must look for ways to remain cooled and hydrated. As the temperature seems to be breaking records, it never hurts to be prepared. I still encourage everyone to take walks and enjoy nature perhaps early in the morning or later in the afternoon when it is not so hot. And please make sure you drink lots of water. Your body will appreciate it. If going out is not an option, make sure to open the draperies or blinds and allow natural light and the nature surrounding you to enhance your living spaces. It makes all the difference in the world. Have a fantastic month! Enjoy what's inside, Regina Correa

Enhance Your Living and Interiors with Plants " Plants instantly attract the eye, calm the soul and bring a peacefulness to any room." Petria

Living well and loving where you live is one motto that I will never get tired of saying. Simply because it holds that much meaning to me and I truly wish most people would take it to heart.

A house becomes a home once it is filled with things that are meaningful to each of us, however, it does not end there. There are multiple elements that will finish the look and bring the cozy, comfortable, homey feel to a home: plants are definitely one of them. Living in a place that is filled with plants will certainly improve your health and well-being. Plants not only increase the aesthetic look and feel of the space, but they also hold amazing health benefits. Studies have shown that indoor plants will... Purify the air by absorbing toxins and producing oxygen Reduce stress - calm heart rate and lower blood pressure Reduce sore throats and colds Increase oxygen levels in your space Sharpen focus Besides these fantastic health benefits, indoor plants will also... Soften the look of any interior Beautify your home Add color and life to any space 3 | Riche Home and Lifestyle

Whenever I am interior designing a space, I always include plants in every room. They are excellent accessories that add color, life, texture, scale, and freshness to the home. In addition, plants will upgrade the look of any space regardless of the plant being big or small. Whether on a large ceramic pot, a basket on the floor, or on a high surface, there is a wide array of selections of plants that will add a touch of life to a corner, table, sill, wall, or counter.

Keep in mind that green isn’t the only color for plants. Some have other colors that will give you that desired pop of color. If you're going the colorful route, desert gems, purple passion plant, croton, and red aglaonema are worth looking into. By the way, if you don't have a green thumb, succulents are the best route. With a dose of love and some water, the indoor plants listed below will not disappoint. I noted some that are pet-friendly and/or good for the bedroom. Plants in the bedroom are great as they increase oxygen levels. Colorful plants will not only enhance to the look and feel but add color to your home.

In case you have pets, take the time to ensure the plants (or flowers) you are adding to your space are not harmful to them. Lastly, if you just don’t have the time or energy to care for plants go with faux ones. Though not my favorite option, since they won’t bring in all of the health benefits but still will add to the overall look of your space. You may also include elements with floral or botanical prints (see page 6) to benefit from its aesthetic effects in your home.
