HELLO DEAR READER! Welcome to the fourth issue of The Mag! I hope this finds you and your loved ones healthy and still in good spirits. We will get through this together.

Regina Correa - Designer/Editor

Editor's Picks For spa-like moments

I often wonder, how we go through summer every single year! Thankfully, the rainy days have been welcoming for me. And we have about 45 or so until Fall. It cannot get here fast enough. Certainly, I have been trying to figure out ways to get away for a change of scenery, air, and obviously climate but, it hasn't worked out just yet. A walk in the park isn't cutting it for me anymore. Who is with me? I live for traveling and exploring the world and because of the pandemic and unexpected (but welcomed) work, I can't go anywhere. I guess, I'll keep enjoying every crepe myrtle blooming as I walk around Mid City. It always makes me smile.

Key Elements to Create an Ideal Master Bathroom

A

master bathroom is as important as the master bedroom. They go hand in hand when it comes to supporting you in the beginning and at the end of your day. A welldesigned master suite will help you relax at night and invigorate you in the morning. Whenever planning for the ideal master bathroom, make a list of things that are paramount. These are the real deal breakers; it will help you keep your design focused and remind you of its importance. Think about the look and feel you want to achieve when you walk through the door. Whether you want that spa-like feel or remind you of your favorite hotel suite, with careful planning you can achieve that at home. There are four key elements which I have outlined for you in the paragraphs below. They are space planning, material selection, lighting and added features that will enhance your grooming and daily care experience.

Space – This is about the layout of your bathroom and how you utilize what you have. In interior design this phase is called schematics - where we determine the client’s requirements and goals. Consider the dynamics of your daily life and how you function in it. Ask yourself, what do I want in the space? A walk-in shower? Large or small? An oversized jacuzzi tub or a regular soaking one to help you relax after a stressful day? Double sink vanities, an enclosed commode for privacy, etc... All of these questions and answers are to be carefully considered during the planning phase. Think of the details for each attribute and write them all down; it will help you define the space and ensure your needs are met. If you have a hard time figuring it all out, hire an interior designer for at least a consultation. They work with renovations regularly, know the rules and how to circumvent them when necessary. A consultation will prevent costly mistakes, and this will save you both time and money in the long run. A little invested in the beginning will give you a great plan of action to guide you to a space you love at the end. If you can afford to hire a designer, even better. They know how to work magic with the space you have, designing with your desires in mind but the experience and training to take it to another level. 3 | Riche Home and Lifestyle

"Your home should tell your story, showcasing a collection of things that are meaningful to you"

Materials – This is about your selections. The pieces of the puzzle: countertop, vanity, tiles, sink, toilet, tub, faucets, etc... It is smart to start with great quality materials. You don’t have to spend a fortune, but keep in mind great quality materials cost more for a reason. You pay for what you get and they will last a lot longer than their counterparts. Pay special attention to plumbing fixtures, mainly shower systems and jacuzzi tubs. These have intricate mechanisms that when faulty create costly repairs. There are many options available in the market, so make sure you do your research when making your selections. Lighting - This is a very important element in the space; especially if there is minimal or no natural lighting. Great lighting will make the room look grand, larger; layering the light sources will allow for an inviting, balanced, well-lit space. Recessed or can lights are great for an overall ambient light while sconces enhance the beauty of the room. Sconces can also double as task lighting when applied by the vanity - think the perfect lighting for make-up. Dimmable lights add to the mood and feel of the space offering another excellent way to layer for effect. A beautiful chandelier or pendant fixture is the perfect accent lighting that will add a touch of elegance, grandeur or glam to the room. Special features – These are the special details that make all the difference. The extras or features that will make your bathroom extraordinary. Some see them as unnecessary splurges, others feel they are worth having. You should have what you want, you work hard, you deserve it! Some of those special features are: a jacuzzi or freestanding tub to enhance the spa-feel; an electric radiant underfloor heat to provide warmth for your feet: a steam shower or shower jets to help you relax after a stressful day or an intense workout; a sound system for ambient music or relaxing sounds; a beverage bar with a coffee maker for a cup of coffee while you’re getting ready or a cooler for a drink or a glass of wine. These are the features that are important to you and is an excellent convenience at close reach. The special features you add to your master bath can make it more than just the “bathroom” but the place to be!

A unique master bathroom is worth the investment. Starting the day or winding down in a space that has been designed to help you energize or relax is priceless. Careful attention on these four elements will guide you to create a master bathroom that caters to all your needs each and every single time you walk through that door.

Mindful Thoughts This piece is part of the Sacred Mornings ebook brought to you by Deanna Causey @soulsayers

INSIGHT Have you ever had a moment when you received a sudden, deep understanding of something you had been trying to understand? Or maybe an intuitive apprehension about how something works, after you just couldn't seem to make sense of it? That's insight. Insight comes like a revelation. A bright, lighting bolt of clarity that makes you say, "Oh! NOW I get it"! This ability creates solutions for you, fostering your ability to problem solve and choose the best options based on outcomes. Insight empowers, releasing you from always asking other people what they think and what you should do. No more a slave to others' opinions, you begin to make decisions about your life with strength and power. So if you value standing on your own two feet, having the confidence to make decisions, ask for insight. Today, I want you to envision your mind's eye being acutely aware and alert. See your brain not being overwhelmed when faced with perplexing situations but rather, examining all the pieces of the puzzle and efficiently coming up with an answer. Your intellect is elevated. Your reasoning is enhanced. You reject any thought of not being capable or intelligent. See yourself calling on all the gifts placed in you to figure out the answers you need. "Your brain generates about 12-25 watts of electricity. This is enough to power a low wattage LED light bulb." "The slowest speed information passes around your brain is approximately 260 MPH." "There are about 100 billion neurons in a human brain, which is about the same as the number of stars in the Milky Way galaxy." "There are 2,500,000 gigabytes of storage space in your brain. The top-of-the-line iPhone 11 has 256." Today's Mantra: My mind is fluid and expansive There are no limits to my ability I excel in simplicity and complexity I have everything I need to find my way I am thankful and give praise for truth SACREDMORNINGS|ŠSOULSAYERS,LLC
