Prestigious award which provided recognition to outstanding students pursuing postgraduate studies, promoting excellence in education and research in Northern Ireland.
Connecting people in ways which has never before been possible lies as an overarching opportunity for the incoming Fourth Industrial Revolution. While communities in some areas of certain cities have become fragmented within themselves, virtual connections have already started to emerge and will of course continue to do so at a rising rate.
This thesis looked at the role architecture has played on past industrial revolutions and begins to question the essential functions it can begin to hold when facilitating innovation through this period of unknown. A potential lies in experimental architecture as it can inspire spaces that allow for the equitable distribution of technology and access to virtual connections to create a more cohesive community through technology.

Propose the readaptation of an exiting building to create a sustainable public structure which facilitates the integration of a disadvantaged group with the broader local community.
Design.Approach/
Empower individuals with autism to control their surroundings for comfort and enhanced mind-body interaction. Creating legible and customizable spaces through a carefully orchestrated arrangement, the design facilitates movement and unity while offering the possibility of isolation.
Design a novel architectural typology for secular weddings and funerals, integrating insights from film and filmmaking as analytical and design instruments, to craft an experiential space enriched by cinematic and new media influences.
Design.Approach/
Examine the interplay between human movement and the surrounding atmospheres. Juxtaposing distinct atmospheres and emotions, akin to the building’s dual functions and harness the city’s inherent ambiance. The serene coexistence within the architectural forms while embracing the lively street dynamics, reflects how emotions evolve across various events.
Adopt Montage as a method of exploring context and design concept to integrate a Building Conservation School into the coastal town of Carnlough in County Antrim.
Design.Approach/
Introduce a new expression of roof structures to the Carnlough skyline which are both sympathetic to the contextual integration but appropriate to providing an inspirational environment to those studying building conservation.
