What a delicious time we have had in Reception particularly as we celebrated pancake day in our Forest School sessions this week!
The children made their own pancake batter in the Forest and then we cooked our yummy pancakes over the campfire before choosing our topping! We also practised flipping pancakes in our phonic lessons by reading and flipping special paper pancakes!

In phonics the children have been learning the sounds ow, ur, oi and ear through lots of fun, interactive games and have knocked our socks with their brilliant sentence and question writing!

In maths this week we have been learning all about the composition of the numbers 6,7,8 through games such as matching pairs, bingo and making bonds through Lego, numicon and snap cubes!
In our focus skills this week we have been honing our woodwork skills, learning how to create beautiful prints using styrofoam etchings and writing all about our fascination in our special interests books.

We have also loved exploring our new weaving and threading area, well done everyone we can't wait for another exciting week!
