Old Pauline
Thomas Gresham Committee St Paul’s Art Association
I am always inspired by the incredible enthusiasm our community shows for the school’s events programme, and I’m confident this new academic year will continue that tradition. Our goal remains to build meaningful connections with as many of you as we can—whether you’re a parent, alumnus, staff member, or friend of St Paul’s. I hope you’ll discover something in these pages that captures your interest, and I look forward to welcoming you to an event this term.
Sally-Anne Huang High Master
The Autumn Term marks the return of the St Paul’s community for another school year, and it’s also a chance to warmly welcome families joining us for the first time, introducing them to the rich and varied calendar of school events. This year, we’re especially excited for our next series of House Social events to join parents from each House together, as well as the biennial Spring Fling in March to raise funds for the St Paul’s Bursary Programme. Led by Rachael Kirkham, our Engagement and Events team has thoughtfully curated a diverse programme designed to appeal to both curious observers and passionate participants alike. We always value your thoughts and ideas, so please do share feedback or suggest future events by contacting the team at community@stpaulsschool.org.uk.

Union Minutes, 1853–1897
Thursday 13 November

Virtual Event – Zoom Webinar
Among the many gems in the school’s archives are records of student groups. One of the oldest sets of records is from the St Paul’s School Union, founded in 1853. The Union was a student-led debating society that met weekly to discuss big ideas and record their debates (as well as matters of internal governance, both petty and weighty) in exquisite detail. Their minutes are a treasure trove for scholars interested in how Paulines interacted with one another and how they thought about a broad array of issues. A group of student researchers from the Archive Society meets weekly with Teacher of History, Charles Irons, to unpack the stories.
