We’re excited to welcome students from inside and outside the St. Paul’s community to a funfilled summer! We hope you will join us for Traditional Day Camp, Specialty Camps, or a mix of both!

SUMMER IN THE CITY: TRADITIONAL DAY CAMP

Traditional Day Camp is a flexible camp full of activities and weekly themes for incoming toddlers through eighth graders. Camp is offered from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. daily with an option to come earlier and stay later at no additional cost. You may choose to attend a full day or a half day (9 a.m. – 12 p.m. or 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.), and you may select the days that work best for you (from one to five days per week). Please note: Early Learners - PreK afternoon naps are provided for students enrolled in PM Traditional Day Camp.

SUMMER IN THE CITY: SPECIALTY CAMP

Specialty Camps are weekly, Monday - Friday, 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. and 1 - 4 p.m. Our Specialty Camps offer children from toddler through 8th grade opportunities to explore their interests, create, cook, craft, tinker, and more. One week of notice is required to change to a different camp. Please note: Afternoon naps are only accomodated through our Traditional Day Camp program.

EARLY ROOM AND EXTENDED DAY CARE

Early care beginning at 7:45 a.m. and extended day care until 6 p.m. are provided at no additional cost. After 4:30 p.m., we will show a movie related to our Traditional Day Camp theme.

LUNCH

Lunch is served daily at noon and is included in your camp fee for those registered for full day.

FIELD TRIPS

Many of our camps will take field trips throughout the summer! Most field trip fees are included in the camp fee. Transportation is provided for all field trips. Parents are always welcome to follow behind the van and attend.

ACTIVITIES FOR EVERY AGE

Each camp with a wide range of student ages will have student groupings based on grade level. All activities will be tailored to each grade level group.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Full refunds are given when a written request is received two weeks or more before the start of the camp. A 75% refund is given upon written request two weeks prior to the camp start date.

Minimum enrollment numbers must be met for each camp to be offered. If a camp must be cancelled due to low enrollment, you will be notified one week prior to the camp start date. If a camp is canceled, you may select another camp or request a full refund.

SAFETY & SECURITY

All staff are CPR/First Aid trained. In addition, they attend Safeguarding God’s Children and St. Paul’s Summer in the City training to provide a safe and quality camp experience for all students.

A full-time security guard will be on duty throughout the summer (8 a.m. - 4 p.m.). Additionally, all external doors are locked at all times.

FLEXIBLE SCHEDULES

DON’T FORGET

Each child must bring a labeled water bottle and sunscreen every day. Please label any extra materials needed for specialty camps (examples: American Girl Doll. jacket. etc.)

We encourage students to wear clothes and shoes that allow for active play (flip-flops are discouraged).

TRADITIONAL DAY CAMP

EARLY LEARNERS (AGE 2.5) THROUGH 5TH GRADE

Traditional Day Camp is a flexible camp full of activities and weekly themes for incoming Early Learners through incoming fifth graders. Camp is offered from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. daily with an option to come earlier and stay later at no additional cost. You may choose to attend a full day or a half day (9 a.m. – 12 p.m. or 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.), and you may select the days that work best for you (from one day per week to five days per week). We recommend arriving 10-15 minutes before camp starts. Weekly camps will include activities that follow the themes listed below; activities will be adjusted to suit students of various ages.

**NEW** for 5th-8th grade students: Older students can drop-in to a specialty camp as needed. Please email Kellee Pearson, Director of Auxiliary Programs, at kpearson@speds.org to coordinate.

Week 1 - Kansas City Spirit Week (June

3-7)

Get ready to show your Kansas City pride as we celebrate each of these Kansas City sporting teams throughout the week: KC Monarchs, Sporting KC, KC Current, KC Royals, and the KC Chiefs. We will participate in several sporting games daily, and watch highlights of some of our local sports heroes. This week we will emphasize teamwork, respect, sportsmanship and support.

Week 2 - The Eras Camp (June 10-14)

Join us for this exciting music and dance camp as we explore the different eras of music and dance. Celebrating artists like Beethoven, Elvis, Mariah Carey, Taylor Swift, and many other best-selling musicians in history! We’ll even pay homage to the rich cultural heritage of music by incorporating a special focus on KC’s Jazz district. Each day we will learn about different eras. Students will learn dance combos, sing songs that build their self confidence, and stage presence as we end the week with a little performance.

Week 3 - Outdoorsy Tent Life (June

17-21)

‘Happy Campers’ will experience both indoor and outdoor camping activities all week. We will learn camping hacks & tricks, learn campfire songs, play cards & board games, and participate in creative outdoor adventures.

Week 4 - SITC Goes Red, White & Blue (June 24-28)

It’s a colorful week here at SITC, and we’re not just talking about the sun shining on our beautiful KC city surroundings. This week campers and staff will be showing their patriotism by making some super cool red, white, and blue crafts and playing classic games in preparation for the upcoming holiday. Every day is a great day at SITC, but the July 4th holiday is always extra special!

Week 5 - Camp Invent - STEAM (July 8-12)

A confidence-boosting STEAM summer camp where kids build creative inventions and lasting friendships by participating in exciting hands-on experiences. Mrs. B will drop in to guide us through some math lessons to enhance our understanding for inventing.

Week 6 -Whodunnit Mystery Camp (July 15-19)

Are you interested in mysteries? In this engaging mystery camp students will learn about problem solving, critical thinking through short stories and games, which give them clues to solve mysteries.

Week 7 - Go For the Gold (July 22-26)

Join us at camp this week as we head to the summer olympics! We will jump our highest and run our fastest as we participate in fun olympic like games like torch relay race, long jump and more. This week, we’ll light our own Olympic torch as our campers go for the gold! Mrs. B will swing by to teach us about some of the math involved in the olympics like, scoring and statistics and timing and measurements.

Week 8 - Sparty Party (July 29 - August 2)

We all embody the spirit of Spartans at heart and throughout the summer have gained even more pride and spirit for the KC Community. So you know what that means, we will party hardy and celebrate all of the fun we had in the heart of our city. We will wear fun themed spiritwear, have dance off fun, silly photobooth play and show expressions of gratitude in a couple of creative ways! Bring your swimwear on Friday!

SPECIALTY DAY CAMPS

Our specialty camps offer children from age 2.5 through 8th grade opportunities to explore their interests, create, cook, craft, tinker, and more. KC Mini Pitmasters

Feelings, Friendship, and Fun

Campers will be serving up smoky slabs, tender bbq chicken and flavorful baked beans in this full-service restaurant for dramatic play/role play camp. Campers will use their imaginations to become chefs, hosts, waiters, and customers.

Prepare to create your own Lego City during this exciting week with Mrs. Englund! Build anything from roads to skyscrapers with your friends while exploring the art of architecture and letting your imagination run wild!

Calling All Artists!

Join Ms. Fisher as we create and explore a variety of media including water colors, paints, oils, and so much more.

Cooks and Books

Each day students will read a new story that will inspire our cooking theme for the day. Tacos, cakepops, and homemade pasta are just a few things that have graced our menu and storytime in years past. What will we eat this year?

City Market Chefs

Join this camp as we travel to NKC’s popular City Market, learn how to pick out the best produce, identify creative ways to cook healthy and enjoy the art of cooking! On Friday, students will share what they learned in a cooking show!

Squishy Camp

There’s a whole world of squishies to explore! We will use flex-it foam to create crazy and crafty squishies that are fun for all ages. Come join us on a fun learning adventure!

Robot Wars

Join Mrs. Spangler for robotics fun as we research, design, and build our own robots! We will use the VEX IQ robotics kits to make a variety of robotic vehicles. Get ready for robot battles, relay races and more!

Making in the Space

Students will have the opportunity to openly create in the Makerspace. Ideas include projects with circuits and soldering, laser cutting, and more! We will also take a trip to Scraps KC to find materials to use in our creations.

Dungeons & Dragons

Enter the world of tabletop roleplaying games with the oldest and most popular ttrpg. Discover lost treasures, explore ancient ruins, and battle terrifying foes all from the comfort of the classroom and the safety of pencil and paper, and dice!

St. Paul’s Habitudes for Athletes

Get ready to discover your full potential, overcome obstacles, and achieve new goals in sports, in your own unique way! We’ll have discussions on how to be a strong team player, enhance your resilience, and set personal targets to improve your mental toughness in sports. Don’t forget your workout gear, as we’ll be putting our newfound skills to the test in a variety of sports games and exciting team building activities each day.

4H Overnight Camp at Rocks Springs Ranch

This is a 3 night overnight camp. Mrs. Pearson will transport students on Sunday afternoon 6/2 and return the evening of Wednesday 6/5. Activities include aerial archery, swimming, horses, rifles, canoes, climbing wall, and more! Campers return home more confident, independent, compassionate and resilient.

Nurture Nature

Take a walk through nature during the first week of summer break! Each day students will get out in nature and explore the world around them. We will go on a nature scavenger hunt, make bird feeders, a flower petal suncatcher, and mix up a “dirt and worms” delicious treat to celebrate the end of our week.

If You Give a Pig a Pancake

Come laugh with us while enjoying breakfast treats. Enjoy Laura Numeroff’s books while creating and eating some delicious breakfast items. We will explore all the Numeroff’s stories and do some related crafting. Don’t let the Pig and the Moose be the only ones enjoying pancakes and muffins!

Camp Barbie

Dragon’s Den

Does your camper love the magical mystical creature known as a dragon? Join us for daily dragon stories with dragon crafts, dragon games, and dragon-dueling sword lessons.

Emerald City

2nd Grade Superstars

Lions and tigers and campers, oh my! In this camp, we will read excerpts of The Wizard of Oz, while enjoying crafts and activities. This camp is designed not only for fun, but also to impart valuable life lessons, like, facing your fears like the Cowardly Lion, and show heart and compassion like The Tin Man.

Let’s Dance

Interested in learning about what it takes to be on a dance team? Campers will work on turns, tricks, jumps, pom and dance technique. Dance campers will learn choreography and perform at the end of the week at the Girls Basketball scrimmage game.

KC’s Next Great Baker

Explore the world of baking and create a delicious array of treats. We will start the camp by trying different treats from local KC bakeries. Campers will follow recipes and add unique ideas to be the best baker they can be!

Design, build, and paint your own derby car. Then, test your design against others in a series of races on our own derby car track!

St. Paul’s Power Hour!

Each day we will start with talking about healthy bodies and healthy habits. We will watch and study workout plans of young athletes. We will then go outside and go through a physical workout together. We may do indoor workouts as well. We will use body weight, dumbbells, fitness equipment and more. We will end each class with a healthy snack to replenish our bodies.

UMKC Roos Girls Basketball Camp

Students will travel to UMKC’s campus Mon. - Thurs. from 9am-1:30pm and will return to school to put their lesson to action in our gym from 2-4pm. On Friday, hoopers will remain on our campus for scrimmage for fellow campers.

KC Chess Club

Stomp Camp

Inspired by the Broadway show, Stomp, we will make music and create movement using everyday items from around the school. This high-energy week culminates with a performance created by students. Warning: we sometimes make big noises and big messes!

The Kansas City Chess Club Coaches will teach beginners through advanced students how to improve their play. Daily activities will include: casual play, chess lessons, puzzles, competition games, and building Lego chess sets. Each camper will receive a chess workbook, chess medal, and chess set! Old MacDonald Had a Farm

Do you love all things that live on the farm?

It’s time to learn some new things about these amazing animals. Students will make a feathery chicken, a 3D standing cow, and pinecone pig. We will also eat farm foods and even have a surprise animal visitor come to our classroom. .

Campers will create their own magical fairy world. Learners will use imagination and creativity to create a fairy house and garden.

Kids Martial Arts

Kids Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is the perfect combination of fun, physical activity, and learning. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu teaches respect, self-control, teamwork and a positive mental attitude! This camp will be taught by Body Fit.

Girls Only Stayover

It’s PJs and girl talk all week long in this camp that inspires camaraderie and friendship. Girls will express their creative side, make treats, play games, and more! KC Survivor Camp

Learn kid-friendly survival tips, make survival themed crafts, conduct science experiments to better survive in the wilderness. At the end of the week we will put our survival skills to the test in a survival themed scavenger hunt at KC’s Swope Park!

Art of Mythical Creatures

Explore the mysterious worlds of mythical creatures and the origins of their stories. Be inspired by mermaids, krakens, unicorns, dragons and more for your camp art projects. Take home your art creations for magical fun.

Explore different styles of art using unique media such as wood, cardboard, and clay!!

Princesses & Fairytales

Each day we will explore life as a fairytale princess. We will make Elsa’s magical wand, a jeweled princess crown, Belle’s enchanted mirror, Ariel’s mermaid tail, and so much more. Come dressed as a beautiful princess each day and get lost in the fairytale life.

Harry Potter

We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted to the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Kansas City campus. You will study topics including fantastic beasts, potions, Hogwarts USA history, transfiguration, and dueling. Come ready to test your knowledge of Harry Potter’s world.

Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory!

This camp is for our campers who love and dream of chocolate! We will work on all kinds of chocolate delights: chocolate Wonka bars, Chocolate pudding with fresh raspberries, Choco cupcakes, and Oompa Loompa chocolate fruits. Campers will submerge into the world of Chocolate Adventure and make enough treats to eat in class and bring home to share with family! Grade: 2nd - 8th Time: 9 a.m. – 12 p.m Cost: $23 2

Just BEAD It!

Create colorful crafts with beads. Students will use creativity and imagination to make bracelets, necklaces, lanyards, ornaments, and sun catchers. Leave with one-of-a-kind crafts while learning the power of beadwork.

Cardboard Arcade

Using recycled cardboard and other unique craft materials, campers will work with their friends to design and build a working arcade! At the end of the week, other campers play your games!

St. Paul’s Speed & Agility Camp

We’ll do fun activities to improve our speed, balance, and catching skills, which are important for all sports and can help prevent injuries. Along with exercises, we’ll chat about staying hydrated, eating right, and setting goals, making sure we enjoy being active and staying healthy for life!

KU Volleyball - 5 Day Camp

Students will travel via St. Paul’s school van to Lawrence KS each day for this hitting and intensive skills Volleyball Camp. Basic skills are stressed in drills, while team play is incorporated to teach how all the fundamentals fit in the game. Monday - Friday, 8am-4pm.

KU Volleyball - 2 Day Hitting Camp

Students will travel via St. Paul’s school van to Lawrence KS each day for this intensive Volleyball Camp. Emphasis on teaching and developing fundamental techniques of attacking - Drills for arm swing, approach, attack selection - Attacking all types of sets and angles. Takes place on Monday and Tuesday, 8am-4pm.

Spidey and Friends Super Hero Camp

Lemonade Stand for Haiti

Campers become lemonade entrepreneurs as they learn how to make the best homemade lemonade and set up a business. Campers will design marketing flyers, estimate profits, create their lemonade stand, and experiment with baked good recipes. At the end of the week, campers will sell their lemonade and baked goods. Families are invited to support the business on Friday. All money raised will be donated to Holy Cross School in Haiti.

KC Night Owl Explorers

Does your camper like to stay up late and sleep in each morning? This is the perfect camp for them! Get ready for some nighttime fun. We will attend evening games for the KC Royals, KC Current, and KC Monarchs. We will end the week at Starlight for Shrek the Musical.

WEEK 8 (JULY 29 - AUG. 2)

Welcome, Early Learners!

Join Early Learner Teacher Miss Marston and ECC School Counselor Miss Spendlove for a sneak- peek of the Early Learner program at St. Paul’s. This week will give you a chance to experience some of the typical school routines. The morning sessions will involve playtime (indoor and outdoor), exploration, laughs, and plenty of hugs. This camp offers an opportunity for a smoother transition on the first day of school.

Pop into Preschool

Get your preschooler ready for school! This camp allows incoming St. Paul’s preschoolers to meet a preschool teacher and go through the routine of a typical preschool day! Your child must be completely potty trained for this camp. Grade: Incoming St. Paul’s Preschool Time: 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Racing to First Grade

This camp is an introduction to the structure and atmosphere of first grade. Our activities will include language arts, math, technology, and hands-on science. This is a great way to transition to 1st grade. Admitted St. Paul’s students only.

Creative Circuitry

Time to get creative with electricity with Ms. Van Maren! Students will create different projects that center on circuits. This may include motor bots, LED cards, scrappy circuits, and experimenting with Snap Circuits. This camp is perfect for any little engineer or tinkerer.

Weird & Wacky Science

Come join us for fun with weird and wacky science! Each day will feature new, cool and hands-on experiments. During our activities, campers will learn about crystal formations, magnetism, static electricity, and gravity.

Community Connection

Campers with a big heart will participate in community service projects, both on and off campus. Potential activities including volunteering at a local food pantry, caring for animal shelter pets, and gardening at a community urban garden, just to name a few. Middle schoolers can use their time towards their annual community service hours.

KC Swifties Unite

Cruel summer? Not if you’re in this camp! We’ll be rockin’ the music from Taylor Swift all week with a real performance at the end of the week! We will also play fun games related to the world’s biggest star!

St. Paul’s Habitudes for Athletes

Get ready to discover your full potential, overcome obstacles, and achieve new goals in sports! We’ll have discussions on how to be a strong team player, enhance your resilience, and set personal targets to improve your mental toughness in sports. Don’t forget your workout gear, as we’ll be putting our newfound skills to the test in a variety of sports games.

Brookside Soccer Camp

This is a fun and in-depth soccer camp taught by Brookside Soccer Staff!

• 1 - 2 pm: Preschool & PreK

• 2 - 3 pm: Kindergarten & 1st

• 3 - 4 pm: 2nd & 3rd

Outside of soccer practice, Preschool and PreK students will nap/rest, and older groups will make cool-down treats like smoothies and popsicles. Swimwear clothing required on Friday.

Tie Dye - Oh My!

Come experiment with cold water dyes! Learn how to create traditional tie-dye spirals as well as a variety of shibori folding, tying and clamping techniques.

YouTube Fanatics

This camp caters to youtube fans! We will make slime, enjoy some toy unboxing as well as other trendy crafts on youtube. Students can pick some playful youtube challenges to do, like the try not to laugh challenge, pancake art challenge, campers will decide!

Commerce Capital

Learn what it takes to run a business and be part of a community through this summer edition of Commerce Capital. Campers will work together to develop business plans, create budgets, apply for loans, and create marketing and advertising. The camp will culminate with the opening of our city to other SITC camp goers!
