GENERAL INFO

We’re excited to welcome students from inside and outside the St. Paul’s community to a fun-filled summer! We hope you will join us for Day Camp, Specialty Camps, or a mix of both!

SUMMER IN THE CITY: DAY CAMP

Day Camp is a flexible camp full of activities and weekly themes for preschool (age 3) through eighth graders. Day Camp is offered from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. daily with an option to come earlier and stay later at no additional cost. You may choose to attend a full day or a half day (9 a.m. – 12 p.m. or 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.), and you may select the days that work best for you (from one to five days per week). Please note: Preschool - PreK afternoon naps are provided for students enrolled in PM Day Camp.

SUMMER IN THE CITY: SPECIALTY CAMP

Specialty Camps are weekly, Monday - Friday, 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. and 1 - 4 p.m. Our Specialty Camps offer children from preschool through 8th grade opportunities to explore their interests, create, cook, craft, tinker, and more. One week of notice is required to change to a different camp. Please note: Afternoon naps are only accomodated through our Day Camp program.

EARLY ROOM AND EXTENDED DAY CARE

Early care beginning at 7:45 a.m. and extended day care until 5:30 p.m. (grace period until 6 p.m.) are provided at no additional cost. After 4:30 p.m., we will show a movie related to our Day Camp theme.

LUNCH

Lunch is served daily at noon and is included in the camp fee for campers signed up for the full day. Half-day campers can purchase a lunch for $7.00. Lunch sign-up will be at the drop-off table daily. Pick-up is 12:45 p.m. for half-day campers joining us for lunch. We will send out a lunch menu every Friday before the next week of camp. Half day campers can bring their own lunch, but the fee is still required..

DROP-OFF & PICK-UP

Drop off is directly in front of the main entrance (Main Street). Parents will need to walk their student to the sign in table where a staff member or volunteer will get the student checked in. Parents are welcome to walk their camper into the school. Pick up is in the same location.

Drop-Off Timing:

• AM Camps - drop-off anytime between 7:45 a.m. - 9 a.m.; pick-up at noon (12:45 p.m. if camper is staying for lunch)

• PM Camps - drop-off anytime between 12:45 p.m. - 1 p.m.; pick-up anytime between 4-5:30 p.m.

ACTIVITIES FOR EVERY AGE

Each camp with a wide range of student ages will have student groupings based on grade level. All activities will be tailored to each grade level group.

FIELD TRIPS

Many of our camps will take field trips throughout the summer! Most field trip fees are included in the camp fee. Transportation is provided for all field trips.

SAFETY & SECURITY

All staff are CPR/First Aid trained. In addition, they attend Safeguarding God’s Children and St. Paul’s Summer in the City training to provide a safe and quality camp experience for all students. A full-time security guard will be on duty throughout the summer (8 a.m. - 4 p.m.). Additionally, all external doors are locked at all times.

FLEXIBLE SCHEDULES

Our flexible care meets all families’ needs. Our Day Camp program is the most flexible with drop-in care available for full or half day. Contact Leslie Englund at lenglund@speds.org or 816.268.6536 (desk) with any scheduling questions.

We will be closed the week of June 30 - July 4 for the Fourth of July!

WHAT TO BRING

Each child must bring a labeled water bottle and sunscreen every day. Please label any extra materials needed for specialty camps (examples: American Girl Doll, jacket, etc.)

We encourage students to wear clothes and shoes that allow for active play (flip-flops are discouraged).

CANCELLATION POLICY

Full refunds are given when a written request is received two weeks or more before the start of the camp. A 75% refund is given upon written request two weeks prior to the camp start date. Minimum enrollment numbers must be met for each camp to be offered. If a camp must be cancelled due to low enrollment, you will be notified one week prior to the camp start date. If a camp is canceled, you may select another camp or request a full refund.

DAY CAMP

PRESCHOOL (AGE 3) THROUGH 5TH GRADE

Day Camp is a flexible option and weekly themed activities for incoming Preschool through incoming fifth graders. Camp is offered from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. daily with an option to come earlier and stay later at no additional cost. You may choose to attend a full day or a half day (9 a.m. – 12 p.m. or 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.). You may select the days that work best for you (from one day per week to five days per week). We recommend arriving 10-15 minutes before camp starts. Day camps will include activities that follow the themes listed below; activities will be adjusted to suit students of various ages.

Half Days: $239 per week

Full Days: $478 per week

Flexible Days starting at $47.80 per half day and $95.60 per full day.

Week 1 -Nature Explorers (June 2-6)

Embark on an exciting journey with Nature Explorers, where kids will step outside and immerse themselves in the beauty of the natural world! Young adventurers will go on nature hikes, discover fascinating plants and animals, and create art inspired by the great outdoors. Through hands-on activities, kids will learn about the ecosystems around them, observe wildlife in its natural habitat, and gain a deeper appreciation for the environment.

Week 2 -Sports Mania (June

9-13)

Get your game face on for Sports Mania, a high-energy week filled with action, teamwork, and friendly competition! This fun-filled week is all about learning new sports skills, improving fitness, and making lasting friendships through team-building games. Whether they’re practicing their dribbling skills, mastering the perfect soccer kick, or participating in relay races, every child will have a blast staying active and building confidence.

Week 3 -Magical Creatures (June

16-20)

Step into a realm of fantasy with Magical Creatures, where kids can let their imaginations soar! This week, young dreamers will discover the mysteries of mythical creatures like dragons, unicorns, griffins, and more. Kids will create their own magical creature projects, from designing mythical beasts to crafting enchanted accessories. They’ll also participate in magical activities like dragon egg hunts, unicorn races, and enchanted obstacle courses. By the end of the week, every child will have created their own mythical world—full of magic, wonder, and creatures of the imagination!

Week 4 - SITC Goes Red, White & Blue (June

23-27)

It’s a colorful week here at SITC, and we’re not just talking about the sun shining on our beautiful KC city surroundings. Campers and staff will show their love for their country through creative red, white, and blue crafts and classic games that bring everyone together. By the end of the week, kids will not only have created their own patriotic masterpieces, they’ll also be filled with pride and excitement for the holiday ahead!

Week 5 - Super Hero and Heroine (July 7-11)

Join us for a thrilling week at the Superhero Training Academy, where young heroes-inthe-making will create their own superhero identities and discover the true qualities that make someone a hero! Kids will face exciting mock missions, and learn the importance of teamwork, courage, and integrity. They’ll design their own costumes and train their strength and agility, all while discovering real-life heroes in their community and beyond!

Week 6 -Disney Favorites (July 14-18)

Step into the enchanting world of Disney Favorites, where kids will embark on a fun-filled adventure with all their beloved Disney movies and characters! This week is a celebration of Disney magic, as campers explore the stories, songs, and characters that have captured their hearts. By the end of the week, every child will feel like they’ve stepped into their very own Disney story, filled with imagination, creativity, and lots of magic!

Week 7 - Jurassic Park (July 21-25)

Get ready for a prehistoric adventure at St. Paul’s Jurassic Park, where kids will step into a world filled with dinosaurs, fossils, and thrilling discoveries! Kids will embark on a journey to uncover the mysteries of the past with activities ranging from fossil digs to dinosaur trivia challenges. They’ll also get to design their own dino-inspired crafts and even “track” their favorite dinosaurs on a thrilling scavenger hunt. We will turn your kiddo into a true Jurassic expert, ready to roar with excitement and share their newfound knowledge of these ancient giants!

Week 8 - Beach Bash (July 28 - August 1)

Join us for the ultimate week of fun as we celebrate the end of summer in style at SITC! It’s going to be a week filled with exciting activities, creative crafts, and endless laughs! We will end the week with a fun water day on Friday!

SPECIALTY CAMPS

Our specialty camps offer children from age 3 through 8th grade opportunities to explore their interests, create, cook, craft, tinker, and more. Specialty Camps are weekly, MondayFriday, 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. and 1 - 4 p.m. We recommend arriving 10-15 minutes before camp.

PRICING:

Half Day of Specialty Camp: $239 per week

Full Day of Specialty Camp: $478 per week

LUNCH:

Offered daily, and included in fee for full day campers. Half day campers can purchase lunch for $7.00 with pick-up at 12:45 p.m.

Feelings, Friendship, and Fun

Foster your child’s social emotional learning with a week of activities that promote emotional awareness and management, self-regulation, and relationship building.

Animal Art Adventure

Grade: PreK - 1st | Teacher: Ms. Panzino

We will make animals galore, from elephants to birds to stuffed critters and playful puppets. We will learn about printmaking, mask making, 3D construction, and more!

Food, Fitness, Fun!

Grade: PreK - 2nd | Teacher: Ms. Fisher

Feed your body and mind! Join Ms. Fisher as we create obstacle courses, do aerobics, yoga and games. After all the fun, each day we will make a healthy snack to enjoy with our friends.

Girls ONLY Stayover

Grade: 1st - 4th | Teacher: Ms. Harper

Everything we do at camp is designed to motiviate and encourage our girls to be their best self. Pajamas, pillows, and good times encouraged but NO BOYS ALLOWED!

Secret Agent Lab

Grade: 1st - 5th | Led by Mad Science

Step into the shoes of a detective! Uncover the science involved in evidence gathering and analysis. From decoding messages to metal detecors and night vision, campers will have the opportunity to check out spy equipment and discover the technological tools of detection!

Robot Wars

Grade: 3rd- 8th | Teacher: Ms. Spangler

Join Mrs. Spangler for robotics fun as we resesarch, design, and build our own robots. We will use the VEX IQ robotics kits to make a variety of robotic vehicles. Get ready for robot battles and relay races!

Community Connection

Grade: 5th - 8th | Teacher: Ms. Nash

Students will come together and serve our community in many ways. Each day we will participate in a different community service project, both on and off campus. Some activities may include helping in a local food pantry, visiting an animal shelter to support homeless pets in the city, or making lunches for those in need. This is a great opportunity for students to earn community service hours and have fun at the same time!

Join Ms. Fisher as we create and explore a variety of media including watercolor, paints, oils, and so much more!

Princess Adventure Camp

Grade: K - 2nd | Teacher: Ms. Cassie

This camp will allow campers to embrace their inner royalty with activities like designing crowns and wands, participating in royal-themed games, and enjoying stories about fairytale princesses.

Dream House

Grade: K - 5th | Teacher: Ms. Panzino

We will make our very own cardboard houses, create dream playgrounds, and construct the coolest dream camper! Using all repurposed materials, we will learn about printmaking, furniture making, and collage.

Cooks & Books

Grade: 1st - 5th | Teacher: Ms. Harper

Each day we will read a new story to inspire our cooking theme for the day. Tacos, cake pops, and homemade pasta are a few things that have graced our menu and storytime in years past. What will we eat this year?

Board Games

We’ll play different board games in hope of discovering the ingredients of the perfect board game.Then we’ll design and build our own board game!

Clay Creators

Using classic books as our inspiration, we will get excited about literacy, leading to moments of connection, mindfulness, and imagination!

It’s All About Dad!

Father’s Day is approaching! This camp is all about dad. We will show dad love with surprises each day. It might be a homemade tie or a treat to please his tummy!

Pirates and Mermaids

Come all sea lovers, and join Ms. Lane on an epic pirate adventure! Spend the week playing games and making crafts, and hunting treasure just like mermaids and pirates.

American Girl Doll Camp

City Market Chefs

Join this camp as we travel to NKC’s popular City Market, learn how to pick out the best produce, identify creative ways to cook healthy, and enjoy the art of cooking! On Friday, students will present a cooking show!

Make it in the Space

Grade: 2nd - 8th | Teacher: Ms. Van Maren

Students can openly create in the Makerspace with Mrs. Van Maren. Ideas include projects with circuits and soldering, laser and cutting and so much more! We will take a trip to Scraps KC to find materials for our creations!

Basketball Camp with Mr. Diener

Grade: 5th - 8th Boys | Teacher: Mr. Diener

Campers can improve their basketball skills with Mr. Diener through exciting drills, friendly scrimmages, teamwork activities, and much more! Whether they’re a beginner or looking to refine their game, it’s a great chance to learn and have fun on the court.

Nurture Nature

Take a walk through nature during the first week of summer break! Each day students will get out in nature and explore the world around them with Mrs. Haprer! We will go on a nature scaverger hunt, make bird feeders, a flower petal suncatcher and mix up some “dirt and worms” as a delicious treat to celebrate the end of our week!

Under the Sea

Dive in with Ms. Fisher as we explore the Ocean. We will learn about the sea, the creatures that live there and more. As we explore the ocean we will use what we learn to create, explore, and experiment!

KC Survivor Camp

Grade: 1st - 4th | Teacher: Mr. Drake

Learn kid-friendly survival tips, make survival themed crafts, conduct science experiments to better survive in the wilderness. At the end of the week we will go on a survival themed scavenger hunt at KC’s Swope Park!

Book Art and Play

Commotion in the Ocean

Time to jump in the deep blue sea with Ms. Harper and learn more about jellyfish, octopus, underwater sharks, fish and so much more. Students will come home with under the sea crafts and enjoy some yummy sea insprired snacks!

Robots Rock!

Grade: PreK - 1st | Teacher: Ms. Fisher

Who doesn’t like robots? Join Ms. Fisher as we explore STEM concepts, a variety of media and our imaginations to create the robot of your child’s dreams.

Sign Language

Grade: PreK - 1st | Teacher: Ms. Lane

Join Ms. Lane to learn some of the basics of American Sign Language, play some word games, and learn more about the Deaf Community.

Forest Friends

Grade: PreK - 2nd | Teacher: Ms. Panzino

Join us for a magical, outdoorsy camp full of woodsy wonderment centered around wild creatures, friendly gnomes, and campfire fun. If your child loves to make and play outside, explore, and imagine, this is the camp for them. Make a cardboard tent, a pretend campfire, a flower power cape, and so much more!

Card Making

Grade: PreK - 2nd | Teacher: Ms. Fries

Mix mediums such as watercolor and collaging, immerse yourself in scrapbook materials and let your creativity run wild. If greeting cards is not your passion, bring in your own scrapbook and get creative with us!

The

Wright Stuff

Grade: 1st - 5th | Led by Mad Science

From the earliest flying machines to the first rocket flights, this hands-on program will give children a bird’s eye view of the history and science of flight. Your child will build different flying devices and explore the science of aerodynamics and flight with the help of Newton’s laws. Then we’re heading out of the atmosphere with a look at rockets and our galactic neighborhood!

Stop Motion Animation

Grade: 2nd - 4th | Teacher: Ms. Lynn

Create movies using claymation, paper cut, and drawing. Add sound and publish!

Step-Up Sisterhood

Grade: 4th - 5th | Teacher: Ms. Sight

Step up Sisterhood helps a small group of girls learn more about themselves, their relationships, how to asssess their friendships and recognize bullying situations. They will learn about being leaders at school and how to build confidence.

Charcuterie Masterclass

Grade: 4th - 8th | Teacher: Ms. Waldrup

Throughout the week we will work on creating beautiful, themed charcuterie boards, from traditional meat and cheese to movie night! Everyone will learn the art of the salami rose. Our campers will also make their own grocery lists and then we will field trip to Aldi to get our supplies. Each camper will leave camp with their own ‘mini board’ to use for future creations.

KC Thrills Camp (All Day)

Grade: 6th - 8th | Teacher: Ms. Englund

Forget popsicle stick crafts and singing Kumbaya, this camp is action packed each day. We will visit: The KC Wheel & Pennway Putt mini golf, Worlds of Fun, Go Ape Zipline Kansas City, Summit Waves, and The Rush Funplex. This camp is sure to get some of your summer fun bucket list items crossed off. Transportation provided. 9am - 4pm.

Flower Power

Grade: K - 2nd | Teacher: Ms. Fisher

Summer is here! Childern will work with Ms. Fisher to read and learn about flowers. Each student will make plenty of flower-themed crafts, play botanical games, and create their own unique watering can before we plant a garden together at school!

If You Give a Pig a Pancake

Grade: K - 2nd | Teacher: Ms. Harper

Come laugh with Mrs. Harper while enjoying breakfast treats in the afternoon! We will explore Laura Numeroff’s books while crafting and preparing treats! Don’t let the Pig and Mouse be the only ones enjoying pancakes and muffins!

Circus Fun Camp

Grade: K - 2nd | Teacher: Ms. Cassie

Campers will experience the excitement of the circus as they make clown hats, learn simple juggling tricks, and enjoy face painting.

Magical Worlds

Grade: K - 5th | Teacher: Ms. Panzino

Let’s explore magical worlds together! In this camp, we will make fairy houses and gardens, a mermaid lair, a unicorn tail, and so much more! We will also learn about sculpting, construction, and include a little slime science and sensory fun. Perfect for all fairy enthusiasts!

St. Paul’s and the Olympians

Grade: 1st - 4th | Teacher: Mr. Drake

Recreate the magic of Camp Half Blood in the safety of St. Paul’s! Learn about the Gods, Heroes, and Monsters that inspired the iconic series, participate in challenges and crafts, and play Capture the Flag.

Stomp Camp

Grade: 1st - 4th | Teacher: Mr. Ronan

Inspired by the Broadway show, Stomp, we will make music and create movement using everyday items from around the school. This high-energy week culminates with a performance created by students. Warning: we sometimes make big noises and big messes!

Global Gourmet Cooking

Grade: 5th - 8th | Teacher: Ms. Frisby

Join us for a culinary adventure around the world! Campers will learn essential cooking skills, explore diverse cuisines, and create gourmet dishes from countries across the globe. This hands-on camp will help you discover new flavors, boost your confidence in the kitchen, and leave you with delicious dishes to share!

Snapology: Snap Jr.

Grade: Preschool - K | Teacher: Snapology

The animals living in our backyards or in our towns are very different from the animals in other parts of the world. While some animals have adapted to live in freezing temperatures, others have adapted to live in extremely hot and dry environments. In Snapology’s Animal Explorer class, students will learn where animals life and why an animal’s habitat is important for their survival. Through stories, games, and building animals with DUPLO® blocks, your little learner will be busy exploring biomes of the world while gaining critical social and developmental skills without even realizing it!

Haunted House

Grade: PreK - 1st | Teacher: Ms. Lane

Join Ms. Lane to re-celebrate Halloween with books, crafts, and games.

Racing to 1st Grade

Grade: Incoming St. Paul’s 1st Grade Students

Teacher: Ms. Waller

This camp is an introduction to the structure and atmosphere of 1st grade. Activities include language arts, math, technology, and hands-on science. Admitted St. Paul’s students only.

Bake for Haiti

Grade: 1st - 5th | Teacher: Ms. Harper

Campers will use their generous hearts and hands to bake up a mound of goodies for our Haiti fundrasier happening on Friday afternoon. We will create cookies, brownies, muffins and so much more!

Rockin’ Robots

Grade: 1st - 5th | Led by Mad Science

This is a beginner camp for Jr. Scientists to learn about the uses of robots in our world, how they sense and move, and spend time programming robots and participating in robot relays. They discover the science of circuits and how robots use sensors to explore things around them. They build their very own working robot to take home with them!

Make it in the Space

Harry Potter

We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted to the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Kansas City. You will study topics including fantastic beasts, potions, Hogwarts USA history, and dueling.

Fairy

Garden Camp

Grade: K - 2nd | Teacher: Ms. Cassie

This camp will encourage creativity by crafting miniature fairy gardens using natural materials and art supplies. Activities will include designing fairy wings, listening to fairy tales, and participating in nature walks to gather materials.

Taylor Swift “Shake it Off” Dance Camp

Grade: K - 5th | Teacher: Ms. Ella

Did you miss out on the Taylor Swift concert tickets when she was in town? That’s ok, “Shake it off” at this hip Taylor Swift Eras Dance Camp where we’ll learn dances the Swifties love! We will learn turns, tricks, jumps, pom pom dance techniques all to Taylor’s hits! Dance campers will learn choreography and will get an opportunity to perform at the end of the week.

Sweet Treats

Grade: K - 5th | Teacher: Ms. Panzino

The Kansas City Chess Club will teach beginners through advanced students how to improve their play. Daily activities will include: casual play, chess lessons, puzzles, competition games, and building Lego chess sets.

Lemonade Stand for Haiti

Grade: 1st - 5th | Teachers:Ms. Harper & Ms. B Campers become lemonade entrepreneurs and set up a business. Campers will design marketing flyers, estimate profits, create their lemonade stand, and make baked goods. At the end of the week, campers will sell their lemonade and baked goods. All money raised will be donated to Holy Cross School in Haiti.

Tea Party

Grade: 1st - 4th | Teacher: Ms. Frisby

Welcome to Tea Party Camp, where each day is filled with fun, friendship, and a little bit of fancy! Campers will host entertaining and elegant tea parties as they prepare delicious small bites, dress up in their favorite outfits, and create dainty crafts. Throughout the week, we’ll also learn about the art of tea parties, etiquette, and the joy of sharing special moments with friends!

Candle Making

In Snapology’s Pokémania program, students will explore the Pokémon® world and practice their Pokémon® training skills! They will create their own training gyms, unique battles, and even their very own generation of Pokémon®. Your student will also explore some real-world science as they examine the habitats, characteristics, and needs of different Pokémon®. They will do more than catch ‘em all, they will build and examine them all very closely and have a blast doing so!

Students can always drop-in for Day Camp, but Specialty Camps require advance registration. Specialty camps run Monday - Friday, 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. and 1 - 4 p.m. Lunch is served from 12 - 1 p.m. for any campers signed up for both AM and PM camp (Note: Half day campers can purchase lunch for an additional $7 fee per day).
