We’re excited to welcome students from inside and outside the St. Paul’s community to a fun-filled summer! We hope you will join us for Traditional Day Camp, Specialty Camps, or a mix of both!

SUMMER IN THE CITY: TRADITIONAL DAY CAMP Traditional Day Camp is a flexible camp full of activities and weekly themes for incoming toddlers through eighth graders. Camp is offered from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. daily with an option to come earlier and stay later at no additional cost. You may choose to attend a full day or a half day (9 a.m. – 12 p.m. or 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.), and you may select the days that work best for you (from one day per week to five days per week). Please note: Toddler - PreK afternoon naps are provided for students enrolled in PM Traditional Day Camp as needed

One week of notice is required to change to a different camp. Please note: Afternoon naps are only accomodated through our Traditional Day Camp program.

EARLY ROOM AND EXTENDED DAY CARE Early care beginning at 7:45 a.m. and extended day care until 6:00 p.m. are provided at no additional cost.

LUNCH Lunch is served daily at noon and is included in your camp fee for those registered for full day.

FIELD TRIPS Many of our camps will take field trips throughout the summer! All field trip fees are included in the camp fee.

CANCELLATION POLICY Full refunds are given when a written request is received two weeks or more before the start of the camp. A 75% refund is given upon written request two weeks prior to the camp start date.

Minimum enrollment numbers must be met for each camp to be offered. If a camp must be cancelled due to low enrollment, you will be notified one week prior to the camp start date. If a camp is canceled, you may select another camp or request a full refund.

SAFETY All staff are CPR/First Aid trained. In addition, they attend Safeguarding God’s Children and St. Paul’s Summer in the City training to provide a safe and quality camp experience for all students.

A full-time security guard will be on duty throughout the summer. Additionally, all external doors are locked at all times. If we are walking to a field trip location, security will accompany the group.

DON’T FORGET Each child must bring a labeled water bottle every day. Please label any extra materials needed for specialty camps (examples: American Girl Doll. jacket. etc.)

We encourage students to wear clothes and shoes that allow for active play (flip-flops are discouraged).

TRADITIONAL DAY CAMP TODDLERS THROUGH 8TH GRADE Traditional Day Camp is a flexible camp full of activities and weekly themes for incoming toddlers through incoming eighth graders. Week 1 - Disney Magic (June 6-10) Disney might be the most magical place on Earth, but Summer in the City at St. Paul’s is a close second! Summer in the City is a place that feels magical, sparks imagination, and encourages kids to explore. This week in camp, we will dive deep into the wonder of Disney including the science behind the rides, hands-on Disney crafts, Disney inspired snacks and more. Feel free to wear your favorite Disney character shirt all week. There will even be a real Disney character every day! On Friday we will have a Disney Dance Party.

Week 2 - Going Green (June 13-17) St. Paul’s wants to help our campers learn to love and respect nature. Campers will learn more about the environment and the simple changes we can make to take care of our planet. We’re making recycled art and even going on a nature scavenger hunt!

Week 3 - Sports Fanatic (June 20-24) This is the perfect week for campers to try out some new games and activities, including soccer, basketball, yoga, kickball, and pickleball. We will also participate in team building exercises and practice good sportsmanship.

Week 4 - Party in the USA (June 27-July 1) As we get ready to celebrate America’s birthday, campers will explore all things red, white, and blue. We will learn about the history of our country with star-spangled games and projects. The week ends in a celebration fit for the land of the free!

Week 5 - Full STEAM Ahead (July 11-15) This STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math) camp will challenge and thrill students with plenty of hands-on activities. Campers will dive into a range of topics in a fun and enriching way while completing cool science experiments. We will even have one of our expert St. Paul’s math teachers , Mrs. B. on-site every day for some math exercises for Kindergarten and up! All week long, campers will develop hypotheses, solve problems, and work together to find the answers to big questions.

Week 6 - Game Show Mania (July 18-22) The Price is Right, St. Paul’s Spartans! This week ensures lots of laughter and excitement during our very own Summer in the City versions of fun and popular game shows. Winners will pick special prizes from the Summer in the City Treasure Chest!

Week 7 - Splish Splash (July 25-29) Grab your swimming suit and towel and join us every day for some “cool down fun.” We will spend the week playing in the sun, running through the sprinkler, and making summer treats! We will also have an end of camp BBQ Cookout and spend time signing Summer in the City camp memory/autograph books.

WEEK 1 (JUNE 6 - 10) “Modge Podge and All the Hodge” Mystery Camp You won’t know until you get here! Campers will engage in something interesting, fun, silly, and exciting every day using Mod Podge glue and other crafting supplies. What creations will you make this week? Sign up, and see!

Encanto Theatre Camp If Encanto taught us anything, it’s that there is definitely a little magic in all of us! Find your inner magic this week as we recreate Encanto scenes and learn songs, like the hit, We Don’t Talk about Bruno, and more! The camp will conclude with a filmed performance that will be shared with campers and their family as a memento. Camp taught by a local actor.

Lego Camp Prepare to create your own Lego City during this exciting week at St. Paul’s with Mrs. Englund!

Build anything from roads to skyscrapers with your friends while exploring the art of architecture and letting your imagination run wild!

City Market Chefs Join this camp as we travel to the popular City Market, learn how to pick out the best produce, identify creative ways to cook healthy and enjoy the art of cooking! Whether you are a novice or expert, we can all learn a new cooking technique or two! Why not learn from the best?! On Friday, students will share what they learned in a cooking show at St. Paul’s!

Creative Circuitry

Lemonade Stand/Business Academy

Time to get creative with electricity! Students will create different projects that center on circuits.

This may include motor bots, LED cards, scrappy circuits, and experimenting with Snap Circuits.

This camp is perfect for any little engineer or tinkerer.

Grade: 3rd - 8th Time: 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Campers become lemonade entrepreneurs as they learn how to make the best homemade lemonade and set up a business. Campers will design marketing flyers, estimate profits, create their lemonade stand, and experiment with baked good recipes. At the end of the week, campers will sell their lemonade and baked goods using Spartans Play Cash.!

Influencer/Broadcasting A camp designed to get motivated students started on their career as self-starting social influencers. We focus on safe and appropriate use of Social Media, how to build a unique brand, how to create and interact with a community, and much more in this student driven class.

Bookmarks Book Club Reading fires the imagination, builds confidence and creates a platform to a prosperous future. Inspired by Netflix’s Bookmarks: this camp will spark meaningful age appropriate conversations about empathy, equality, justice, self-love, and anti-racism as we bring books to life!

Twirling Trolls Theatre Camp Hair Up! Find your happy place with Poppy in this Trolls inspired acting camp. Campers will act out scenes and dance to fun songs from the trolls soundtrack. Campers will complete Troll crafts, games and obstacle courses. This camp concludes with a showcase for invited guests! Camp taught by a local actor.

Checkmate Challenge Chess Camp The Kansas City Chess Club’s certified staff will show beginners through advanced students how to improve their play. Daily activities will include casual play, chess lessons, training exercises, National Rated competition games, building Lego chess sets and chessboards, All levels are welcome!

Midtown Magellans Explore and enjoy all of the cultural offerings in our immediate neighborhood! With planned walking trips to the Nelson Atkins Museum, The Kemper Museum of Fine Arts, The Plaza Fountains, and other local stops, campers will love adventuring around town. An active camp for those who want to enjoy the sights right here in our very own neighborhood!

City Travelers We will go on field trips using our feet, city bus, and street car. We will visit the Kansas City main Library, City Market, and other places close to school. Let’s go on some local adventures!

WEEK 2 (JUNE 13 - 17) Tiptoe into Toddler Join Miss Marston for a sneak-peak of Toddler life at St. Paul’s. This week will give you a chance to experience some typical school routines. The morning will involve play, exploration, laughs, and plenty of hugs. This camp provide a smooth transition into school!

Rock Band An experimental camp that invites younger students to play with professional musical equipment in a facilitated creative environment. Learn the basics of guitar, drum machines, live sound, and recorded music.

Around the World in 5 Days Time to grab your passport, pack a bag and enjoy a different country each day of the week.

In St. Paul’s Around The World in 5 Days, you will get to try tasty foods, make crafts and paint carry-on bags. Come along on a daily adventure and enjoy making tacos, pizza, and ramen.

Second Grade Superstars Magic Tree House Welcome to a week of adventure! We will travel in time, play games, and learn about the cultures of fantastic places. You will collaborate with friends to write your own chapters in the Jack and Annie saga. We will also learn about Merlin, Morgan, and King Arthur.

Rainbow Play Who doesn’t love the wonder of rainbows?

Come explore colors with exploratory art and sensory play during this wonder-filled camp.

Students will rotate between various color focused centers that engage their senses and invite creativity and curiosity through stories, sensory bins, and open-ended art making!

Tea & Talks

Stomp

We are going to discuss all things that girls love while hosting our own tea party! Unicorns, princesses, movies and more - this is a time for your child to talk about and explore their fantasy-filled interests. We are going to make some new friends, engage in imaginative play, and have lots of fun!

Inspired by the Broadway show, Stomp, we will make music and create movement using everyday items from around the school. This high-energy week culminates with a performance created by students. Warning: we sometimes make big noises and big messes!

Superhero Camp

A more advanced class for the musically motivated! Bring your own instruments or use the many available tools provided by Mr. Kae to embark on your own songwriting journey.

Spelling it Out This F.U.N. Spelling BEE camp will not only help campers improve their spelling, it will also increase their vocabulary. Snapshot to Third Grade Each day will feature a theme third grade studies throughout our year. Starting with Oregon Trail on Monday, Rainforest on Tuesday and Wednesday, working with the Vex IQ Science Building Kits on Thursday, and a technology montage on Friday. Students will create a short iMovie to share with parents at the end of the week!

Acting for Theater Always wanted to learn what it takes to be an actor on the stage? How to memorize lines and play different characters? Community Connection Each day, campers will participate in community service projects including volunteering in a local food pantry, caring for pets in an animal shelter, and supporting our St. Paul’s community, just to name a few.

Iron Chef Training Camp: Restaurant Taste Test What do the judges look for in Iron Chef creations? Do Kansas City restaurants make the Iron Chef cut? In this camp, we’ll learn and use objective criteria to evaluate the taste, aroma, and presentation of some favorite Kansas City restaurants. Campers will take a field trip each day to a local restaurant to test their Iron Chef mettle.

St. Paul’s Girls Basketball Camp Lace up your basketball shoes and get ready for a fun filled week with Coach Ward. This camp is an opportunity to improve passing, dribbling, shooting, and defensive positioning.

Campers will learn different offenses and defenses and practice in game situations.

Every day will have individual and team competitions. Taught by Mr. Ward.

Little Medical School Playroom In St. Paul’s Little Medical School Playroom students will explore STEM activity sets which help ignite a child’s passion for science and health while inspiring role-play, health awareness, creativity, and problem-solving.

Put on an old t-shirt and get ready to get messy! We’ll have a full week of getting our hands into different textures to engage the mind and body with new expierences. Come fingerpaint with shaving cream, learn all about oobleck, make slime, and more!

Grade: Toddler - Preschool Time: 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Reading Boost Camp Move it, move it! Shake it, shake it! Say it, make it, read it, write it! Students will boost their brains and confidence with this hands-on, multi-sensory reading and language arts camp.

Feelings, Friendship, & Fun! Foster your child’s social emotional learning with a week of activities that promote emotional awareness and management, selfregulation, and relationship building. Students will spend time engaging in Sunshine Circles, picture book themed activities, and social emotional skill building through play. This class will be divided into two groups by age: Preschool/PreK and Kindergarten/1st.

Young Actors Camp It’s time to tell your own tale! Practice story construction, character development, and performance skills through ensemble exercises that activate your actor’s tools: body, voice, and imagination.

Breakfast Bunch Come on in to St. Paul’s Breakfast Bunch where you can skip breakfast at home. A camp where you’ll get to experience a one-of-a-kind menu.

Campers will fry up bacon, crack eggs, and flip some pancakes. We will even create recipe books and design cool aprons to take home.

Harry Potter Singing at Sight Do Re Mi Fa So - let’s go! Learn all about the basics of music. We will learn how to sing a scale using the old Italian singing technique known as Solfeggio, or Solfege, and then use it to sing familiar songs together!

Reading Boost Camp

Learn the world of Dungeons and Dragons!

An old favorite for many! Explore the world of pen and paper role-playing games. Campers will feel like heroes while performing, solving problems, and writing creatively. We will take a field trip to the Nelson Atkins Museum and visit the Medieval section for some inspiration.
