William Temple, the late Archbishop of Canterbury, wrote that to worship God is to “to purge the imagination by the beauty of God.” The universe holds almost infinite fascination, our world is full of wonder, and life itself is brimming with incredible variety. If we were to truly look, we would see there is so much that gives us pleasure, that offers us fulfilment, that captures our imagination, that challenges and inspires, that gives us cause to look forward with anticipation—and that speaks to us of God’s creativity and power.
God’s people are a sign to the world of who God is, and signs are meant to be “out there” where people can see them. Too often we settle for doing the odd good work here or there—such as pursuing social justice, providing for the Qualified & experienced teachers to suit all levels of poor, and caring for the hurting—rather than being a good news people. students
