The Alliance for Children and Families has reinvented its National Conference program. Customize your conference learning experience based upon the Commitments of High-Impact Organizations and your personal learning style.

All of the learning opportunities are aligned with the Alliance’s Commitments of High-Impact Organizations. Read about and identify your personal and organizational Commitments of focus to select the learning opportunities that will lead to the greatest impact.

Then, think about how you learn best. This year’s workshops are not one size fits all. The Commitments: Educational Offerings Impact is not about what you do—how many people you serve, how long you’ve been in existence, or how far your service area reaches. It’s about the positive change you achieve and whether or not it lasts. High-impact nonprofits are in pursuit of breaking the cycle of poverty, not serving generations of families in crisis. Organizations that achieve impact are influencing either directly or indirectly: • The number of people living in poverty • The number of people living safe and healthy lives • The number of people on pathways for educational and employment success

Leading with Vision Leaders, regardless of their roles within the organization, are courageous and disruptive. They embrace new ideas, look outside of traditional relationships, and disregard hierarchy. Those who lead with vision are not deterred by complexity or ambiguity; when confronted by challenges, they listen carefully and think critically. They are among their organizations’ best ambassadors and champions of the cause.

Governing for the Future Governing boards of high-impact nonprofits analyze market, political, and practice trends to define the organization’s preferred future and ensure mission alignment. They push and support their organizations in pursuing lofty goals, taking risks, and innovating. They are guardians of the horizon, and they do this by helping their organizations define and realize their future aspirations, rather than solving the operational problems of today.
