The Brinnington Circle
The Ageing in Place Pathfinder Project and Stockport Homes are excited to be bringing the award winning and internationally recognised Circle model to create the Brinnington Circle. The Brinnington Circle will create a fun and entertaining monthly calendar of events and activities designed and suggested by older people themselves, creating new friendships and opportunities in the local community.
Our approach is to allow older people to develop and design the things they want to do, how and when they do them and then facilitate their ideas, suggestions and volunteering opportunities
We have a meeting every six weeks, the next being Tuesday 17th September 2-4pm, First House, Brinnington, where you can meet the team, find out about the fun activities we have planned and put your views forward
We are excited to work with local people to bring the Brinnington Circle to life, connecting older people, putting on some fantastic events and activities and having fun along the way!

Join our Community Allotment
Are you passionate about gardening, community building and sustainable living? Our community allotment needs your help! We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join us on our allotment to create a thriving green space where we can grow fresh produce, learn together, and have the opportunity to harvest and plant a variety of fruits and vegetables – that can be shared with the community. Sharing knowledge and skills and a place where friendships bloom alongside our plants.
Our allotment is located at Webb Lane, Offerton and we meet every Tuesday and Thursday from 1-4pm. You can volunteer as much or as little time as you can spare –every bit helps!
If you are interested in joining a fun and vibrant community allotment, please call Nerys on 07815476984 or Clare on 07929717570

Webb Lane Allotment
When the AIPP team took on a plot at Webb Lane Allotments, they had several aims:
To get people into nature
Companionship and building friendships.
Volunteering opportunities
Healthy living
However, the main aim was to grow produce that would benefit the community of Brinnington and with the help of Marley Brougham, this week saw the delivery of the first batch of apples from our inherited apple tree, to the Brinnington Pantry.
If you fancy joining us at the allotment you can find us there every Tues and Thurs afternoon 1pm-3pm Just ring Nerys on 07815476984 or Clare on 07929717570
‘Them Three Blokes’
A local band, ‘Them Three Blokes’ performed a one-off performance for Brinnington Hall Care Home It’s not your typical care home entertainment but for many of the residents, music is a bridge to their youth, a reminder of times filled with fun
We had songs from the 60s, 70s, 80s and beyond because not everyone is a Vera Lyn fan!! The band, led by Steve Earnshaw who had done some volunteering work here at SHG, played hit after hit The audience tapped their feet, others clapped along and faces lit up with smiles It was lovely to see some people get up and have a dance.
It is wonderful to use the power of music to connect those in the care homes with the wider community in Brinnington bringing people together a great success towards reaching the goals of the AIPP.
