MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Dear Families & Friends,

Each fortnight at St Michael’s we have a MJR (Make Jesus Real) focus across all classes. The focus for the next two-weeks is Gratitude: Gratitude is something we can learn to practice and strengthen like a muscle. I encourage you all as families to extend this focus into your homes. It can be as simple as each family member sharing something they are grateful for from that day before going to bed.

For me, I am incredibly grateful to be a part of such a beautiful community. When I reflect on the past two-weeks we had Graham Brooks (Mr Digger) visit us with his ANZAC Trailer, Boogie Bounce started for students in Kindy – Year 4, we had a heartwarming gathering of the special women in our community for Mother’s Day, our Year 5 & 6 students visited La Salle to view a production of Oliver, we had our Faction Cross Country Carnival with McAuley taking out the win and we finished this week with our first Walk to School Day from Palmerston Park & our Year 6 students participating in their Confirmation Retreat Day.

Yes, many of these things may happen at other schools, but it is the spirit of our community, the kindness of our students and the dedication of our staff that make each of these events so special.

May you all have a fantastic week ahead.

FAITH FOR THE JOURNEY

Loving God, We thank You for the gift of Pope Leo XIV.

Fill his heart with the wisdom of the Holy Spirit, so he may lead the Church with love, courage and faith

May he be a shepherd who listens, a teacher who inspires and a servant who brings hope and peace to all people.

Bless Pope Leo XIV as he begins his mission, and help us to support him with our prayers and open hearts

May he always walk in the footsteps of Jesus, and guide us to live with faith, compassion, truth and service.

Amen

MOTHER’S DAY

The Year 1 Mother’s Day Assembly was a heartwarming tribute, with students sharing prayers, poems and songs to honour the special women in their lives. Our students from Pre-Kindy to Year 6 also created thoughtful portrait artworks of their mums, which brought joy and pride to everyone who saw them
