St Michael’s Week 2015 Celebrating Quietness

Each year during St Michael’s Week, St Michael’s Uniting Church presents two people with the St Michael’s Medallion in recognition of their outstanding contribution to the community. Two organisations that embody the theme for St Michael’s Week of ‘Quietness’ have been chosen to receive medallions this year. Both organisations work quietly to make significant changes to the lives of many Australians. The awards recognise the tireless efforts of these organisations to prevent trauma and violence and promote positive growth and wellbeing. We invite you to join us for a week of events celebrating the power of quiet achievement. Bookings for events can be made at www.stmichaels.org.au If you would prefer to make a phone booking you can call our office on 03 9654 5120.

ST MICHAEL’S DAY BREAKFAST

BLESSING OF THE ROCKS

Launching the St Michael’s Day festivities, this breakfast is one of the great events people of the St Michael’s Congregation look forward to each year.

Rocks have been placed in the gardens of St Michael’s as symbols. Millions of years old they remind us that we are here for but a fleeting moment in time. They also remind us of strength and stability.

We are honoured to have a special speaker from Assistance Dogs Victoria join us for this delicious breakfast, catered by Ann Wilson.

All in attendance will scatter petals upon the rocks. The petals are symbols of softness, and our need for peaceful serenity.

Seating is limited - tickets are availble from the Hall Foyer after service from Sunday 30 August.

The blessing of the rocks gives us the opportunity to pause and reflect on the time we have and how we wish to use it.
