In 1881, God gave a small group of miners a mission to bring to these mountains the world’s greatest treasure: the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ, the Eucharist, and the Faith and Charity that flow from Him.
Today, that mission has spread from the streets of Old Town Park City, to the meadows of White Pine Canyon, to the Heber Valley and beyond. St. Mary’s seeks to evangelize, catechize, give back in Charity, and enrich the community through the Catholic Faith and its intellectual, artistic, and cultural traditions. To bring all the treasure of Jesus Christ, for the salvation of souls, and the Greater Glory of God!

Please welcome Fr. Paul Shirima who will represent the Apostolic Life Community of Priests in the Opus Spiritus Sancti and will speak at all weekend Masses at our Church of Saint Mary of Assumption on October 12-13. Fr. Paul was ordained a priest in 2011 in Tanzania. Since his ordination, Fr. Paul has done parish ministry as an associate priest in several parishes in Tanzania, as a teacher at the Seminary, and as youth Director. Since August 2021 Father Paul has been a graduate student in Jewish- Christian Studies at Seton Hall University in South Orange, NJ. Currently, Fr. Paul is pursuing graduate studies in Spirituality at the Oblate School of Theology – in San Antonio, Texas.
Mission Appeal: As a young Missionary Community, they have many needs. At present, they are facing the challenge of meeting the tuition fees for 77 major seminarians diligently studying both Philosophical and Theological Studies at Jordan University in Morogoro, Tanzania. Any assistance they can get from this Mission Appeal will help support the formation of these young men who will soon move into the priesthood. Those who will directly benefit can’t thank you enough for your consideration in this. Your generous financial and spiritual help will make the difference. Please be generous in your response to Father’s appeal. Donations can be placed in the second collection box in the gathering space or you can scan the QR code.
AT MOST 10:30 AM MASSES
We will be hosting Children’s Liturgy at the 10:30 AM Mass with exception to the following dates: 10/13, 10/27, 11/10, 11/24, 12/22, 12/29.
This schedule follows the CCD schedule. We have 2 classes: In the preschool room we have 3 years old – second grade or First Communion, and in room # (next to preschool) we have 3rd grade – 5th grade. We welcome older children to volunteer to help. We will take the children after opening rites and bring them back after the creed. It is usually 20 minutes of reviewing the days readings on their level and a small activity. Families that would like to have their children participate should sit in the pews reserved in the back right of the church. Parents interested in volunteering to assist and/or help teach should reach out to Chelsea Kirst 435-513-2468 and Lauri Hawkins at lhawkins@stmarysparkcity.com.

Dear sweet Jesus, I kneel before you and give you thanks for the great treasure of the Most Blessed Sacrament. May it nourish me with a lively faith and with true repentance. May your cross be my strength, your resurrection be my life, and your grace be my sure confidence. With the Father and the Holy Spirit, your love is the full satisfaction of my desire, my refreshment, and my own love. May you be glorified in all things everywhere and may your peace be the joy of all people. Amen.
