In 1881, God gave a small group of miners a mission to bring to these mountains the world’s greatest treasure: the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ, the Eucharist, and the Faith and Charity that flow from Him.
Today, that mission has spread from the streets of Old Town Park City, to the meadows of White Pine Canyon, to the Heber Valley and beyond. St. Mary’s seeks to evangelize, catechize, give back in Charity, and enrich the community through the Catholic Faith and its intellectual, artistic, and cultural traditions. To bring all the treasure of Jesus Christ, for the salvation of souls, and the Greater Glory of God!

St. Ignatius of Loyola, born in 1491 in the Basque region of Spain, is celebrated not only for founding the Society of Jesus but also for his profound spiritual insights and enduring legacy in Christian spirituality. His life’s journey from a soldier to a spiritual guide is a testament to the transformative power of faith and introspection.
BUILD THE FAMILY. FORM THE COMMUNITY. SERVE ONE ANOTHER.
In this Sunday’s Gospel, Christ reminds Martha that her sister Mary has chosen “the better part” by staying at his feet rather than helping her sister serve. We come to St. Mary’s to know, love, and serve Christ through the sacraments of the Church.
But being part of the Mystical Body of Christ also means being of service to one another here within the parish community. People come back to St. Mary’s because of the holistic nature of our parish: we worship Christ together like Mary, and we serve one another like Martha.
St. Mary’s is a family, and while we welcome locals and visitors alike to come and sit at the feet of Christ to listen to him and to learn from him, many of us are also called to be like Martha–to serve the needs of our community so that the Church might be whole and welcoming to all.
St. Mary’s is pleased to announce our new St. Martha’s Ministry. Following the model of this wonderful saint, this ministry will focus on welcoming and serving the hundreds of faithful who come to our parish every weekend so that they may experience our renowned sense of
community in its fullness. Help welcome people as they enter into God’s house, serve refreshments after Mass to promote fellowship and to meet new people, and maintain our beautiful gathering space, which is often the first experience visitors and inquirers to the faith might have. This ministry will enable the parish to build up both our hospitality needs and catechetical needs for the future.
This is more than just a volunteer opportunity. This is your chance to emulate this great saint who dedicated her life to serving Christ’s temporal needs in order that he may focus on our spiritual needs. If you would like to learn more, please contact Director of Evangelization Anthony Jewett at ajewett@stmarysparkcity.com. To sign up to help in this ministry, please scan the QR code below.

Dear sweet Jesus, I kneel before you and give you thanks for the great treasure of the Most Blessed Sacrament. May it nourish me with a lively faith and with true repentance. May your cross be my strength, your resurrection be my life, and your grace be my sure confidence. With the Father and the Holy Spirit, your love is the full satisfaction of my desire, my refreshment, and my own love. May you be glorified in all things everywhere and may your peace be the joy of all people. Amen.
