Due to the competitive nature of the admission process, the enrollment season is beginning earlier and earlier. Plan your tour as early as possible!
Visiting the physical campus is a valuable step for both parents and students. You get a firsthand experience of what the institution has to offer beyond what brochures and websites can convey. Being on campus allows you to assess various aspects like the facilities, resources, and the general atmosphere You can also gain a sense of the school's culture and community
Consider your child's strengths, interests, and focus, and try to find the schools that align best It's about finding that perfect match where your child can thrive academically, socially, and personally
To ensure a smooth transfer of information to a high school of interest, the following forms must be submitted to Jensen Rafeedie, St. Mark’s Registrar.
A RECORDS RELEASE allows St. Mark’s to share student information with outside institutions. Such information typically includes recommendations, test scores, report cards and middle school transcripts. Further down the application process, this may also include birth certificates, health and immunization records, accommodations, psychoeducational evaluations, and/or other testing results.
The following documents are typically required as you submit your initial applications After Labor Day, you will receive electronic copies of these records from the St Mark’s Registrar Some schools require them to be sent directly from school to school, yet others can be be uploaded directly to the application portal:
Grades 6 & 7 Final Report Cards
Grades 6 & 7 Standardized Test Scores
Grades 6 & 7 Transcript
Grade 8 report cards and test scores will be provided to the preferred high schools at the conclusion of each quarter

A BRAG SHEET is a personal account of who your child is—their character, personality, dreams, and goals. Nearly every school will require a recommendation written by a teacher who can speak to your child’s abilities, character, and work ethic. Be sure to complete your student’s BRAG SHEET to help our teachers showcase your child’s very best talents.
It is typical for schools to request teacher recommendations - one for MATH and one for ENGLISH. Many schools also request a school statement. Typically generated through the online application process, teachers and/or the Middle School Head will receive an electronic request through email.
* It is important to enter the appropriate contact information so the request reaches the intended party.*

Now that you have toured the various schools, how do you begin to narrow your choices?
Schools should not be rated without evaluating them relative to your individual child’s talents, wants, and needs Knowing, as completely as possible, what your criteria are, and evaluating schools based on those criteria, will produce a list of schools that “works” for you and your child. Sharing our unique observations of your child’s learning profile can help with the discernment process
PARENT CONSULTATIONS with Mr. Cirillo will be available to book on Monday, August 18 and Tuesday, August 19, 2025. In this meeting, the student’s profile and interests will be discussed and, if requested, a range of schools will be suggested.
These voluntary meetings are meant to serve as a checkpoint in your Journey to High School. To schedule your parent consultation, please email Diana Terry at dterry@stmarkspbg.org.
Refer to the document, HIGH SCHOOL ADMISSION INFORMATION, which lists important deadlines and requirements for local schools. Please note, it is meant to serve as a reference and should not be the sole source of information. Dates and requirements are subject to change throughout the season
Each school will have different requirements for application. Other than school records, recommendations, and statements, most schools will also require entrance exams, shadow days, and interviews. You may also be required to pay an application fee, so be sure to have a payment method ready.
Due to the competitive landscape of high school admission, consider applying to multiple schools in the event your first choice doesn’t work out.
When you have narrowed your choices and know where you will be applying, please notify the Registrar by completing this simple form. This will ensure records are sent to the appropriate schools.
This form must be kept up to date any time you add a new school of interest, or decide not to move forward with a previously chosen school The Registrar must be notified of your applications in order for accurate and timely record transfers.
Enrollment decisions will be communicated anytime between December and April, depending on the school.
If you are accepted into multiple schools, remember to consider your child's strengths, interests, and focus. Choose the school where your child will thrive academically, socially, and personally.
You must notify the Registrar when an enrollment offer has been accepted. At the end of the final marking period, your cumulative file will be sent to your chosen school, including your final report card and transcript.
Enrollment decisions will be communicated anytime between December and April, depending on the school
This is not a time to panic if your child is in a “wait pool”
