The students at St Luke’s Grammar School are engaged, curious and optimistic.
St Luke’s strong culture of learning encourages each child to achieve their potential in a supportive environment where every child is known. For students to flourish we believe in the pursuit of excellence alongside connection, wellbeing and a sense of fun.
We deeply appreciate your consideration of St Luke’s for your child’s education. Our Northern Beaches location gives the school a unique community feel, and we prioritise knowing our students well, ensuring that each child from Cottage through to Year 12 feels valued, supported, respected and appreciated for who they are. Co-education provides an environment where our students are authentically connected and learn to collaborate, respect a range of perspectives and find their own identity.
As an Anglican school, St Luke’s mission and purpose is underpinned by the Christian faith. Our approach is invitational and inclusive, with the hope that students are curious about the Christian faith and leave the school with a thoughtful and considered worldview. We want St Luke’s students to learn well, live well and look beyond themselves showing compassion, kindness, justice and humility.
The balance of learning and wellbeing dispositions in our LEARNING@STLUKE’S framework ensures our students are thoughtful learners and equipped with the skills they need for a rapidly changing world where adaptability and flexibility are crucial.
It is an exciting time for St Luke’s as we begin construction of our Senior School Campus for students in Years 10-12. We are committed to providing a modern and engaging environment that will serve the needs of our students for years to come.
We hope to partner with you on your child’s educational journey as we continue to nurture young men and women of character, ready to serve and impact the world.
Geoff Lancaster, Principal

GRADUATE profile
SOLID CHRISTIAN foundation
As an Anglican school, we believe everyone is made in the image of God.
Our aim, therefore, is to provide an inclusive and welcoming environment, embracing students from different backgrounds and worldviews into a thriving culture of Christian faith and learning. Students are encouraged to grow in knowledge and
wellbeing
The St Luke’s approach to pastoral care is to know each student and therefore support them with the particular skills they need to flourish in learning and life.
Staff will look for opportunities to support each student with skills to:
understanding of the Christian faith. They are invited to consider the claims of the Christian message and make an informed decision about their own worldview.
Our approach to Christian education is that it should engage the head, heart and hands. We want our students to be curious thinkers and learn deeply, develop care and empathy and put these things into practice by serving their community and beyond.
• Strengthen the mind Through self-awareness, emotional management and coping skills
• Support the body Through rest, nourishment and movement
• Reinforce positive relationships Through inclusive and supportive relationships, development of empathy and contributing to the wider world; and
My faith has been deepened through a community that encourages personal growth and reflection.
ADRIANA, YEAR 10
• Build purpose Through setting goals and maintaining habits, seeking meaning and making wise decisions.
St Luke’s provides regular monitoring of students requiring more support and has a counselling team to give targeted interventions where needed. We seek to work in partnership with parents and carers to care for each student at St Luke’s.

LEARNING FRAMEWORK
LEARNING@STLUKE’S moves beyond the traditional approach to learning.
It brings together character traits, learning, and wellbeing dispositions that allow our students to grow and develop so that they can be successful in their school journey and beyond. By using Guy Claxton’s Learning Power Approach as a foundation, we have identified five domains - Be Restorative, Be Resilient, Be Resourceful, Be Relational,
and Be Reflective, to support St Luke’s students to develop capacity and capability. The framework encourages students to reflect on how they can become more powerful learners and encourages teachers to focus explicitly on developing these different learning dispositions. We do this together as a community through the way we talk about learning, the way we structure learning activities, and the routines we use for teacher professional development.

children for the transition to Kindergarten the following year. Children develop the confidence to learn through play and investigation. thinking skills and learn how to make connections between concepts and the world.
In addition to Literacy, Numeracy and experiential play, Cottage students receive specialist teaching in Music, Languages, PE, Christian Studies, Art and Information Skills.
