Born and raised in the Bay Area, Steven Prusky is a longtime fan of the Oakland Raiders, from the early days of Daryl Lamonica, the haydays of Kenny "The Snake" Stabler, to current days. Vastly improved in the last 10 years, the Raiders who have a reputation as a team of near championship misses in recent years. This trend continued in 2016, with quarterback Derek Carr suffering a broken leg in the fourth quarter of the Raiders’ postseason game against the Indianapolis Colts, which they won 3325. The injury represented a major loss to a team built around Carr, who threw 26 touchdowns in 2016 and achieved just shy of 4,000 yards passing. Unfortunately, the defense did not meet the same high standards and gave up more in yardage than it achieved in offense. Although dependable in the clutch, they were not able to pressure quarterbacks enough and this made the Raiders vulnerable after losing Carr. Despite their early playoff exit, fans have a lot to be excited about as a young Raiders team approaches the next season with motivation and talent.
