Recap of Journal Club Thank you to Dr. Rosalyn Johnson for providing us with interesting articles (about a very relevant topic) to discuss and to Alyssa and Tavishi for leading our journal club sessions this month!

For the first journal club event this month, we discussed the role of angiotensin-

converting enzymes (ACE) in immunity via its expression in macrophages and neutrophils in an animal model. Overall, we learned that the over-expression of ACE in these cells will augment immune responses; however, more research must be done to understand the effects of ACE over-expression in human immune cells. For the second journal club event, we discussed the role of bradykinin and RAS levels in COVID-19 patients.
