PREMIERE
TEXT: EFTHIMIS FILIPPOU DIRECTOR: DIMITRIS KARANTZAS
Τhis is the first collaboration between author and award-winning scriptwriter Efthimis Filippou and Dimitris Karantzas, the critically acclaimed director from the younger generation of Greek directors. The starting point of this collaboration was a discussion about Bernard Marie Koltès’ shocking work R o b e r t o Z u c c o (1990). Just like in Koltès’ work, Filippou’s original play, titled Ρ ο μ π / R o b , also talks about a serial killer. However, the production of these two Greek creators at OCC turns spectators into both witnesses of and accomplices in a mysterious ceremony about a dead man who was murdered. He is reborn through the narrations and testimonies of victims and his followers. He comes back to life to be glorified and eventually devoured by a society that always needs to create leaders, saints, or mere scapegoats. Are you ready for a production that is an unorthodox rite of violence, stereotypes, memory, identity, rationality and irrationality?
