THE POSITION VISION & VALUES

College Administrative Support personnel play a crucial role in ensuring the College delivers excellence in Catholic education, aligned with the ethos and values of Edmund Rice Education Australia.

The Student and Parent Reception position provides highly professional administrative and organisational support to students, families and St Edward’s College staff.

A key responsibility of this position is to deliver exceptional customer service to students and their families in a welcoming, safe and inclusive manner.

It is expected that staff in this position work collaboratively as part of a larger team and will be called upon to provide relief in other College Administrative Support positions, as directed by the Principal and the Executive Assistant to the Principal.

The Student and Parent Reception models the vision and values of the College by:

All staff are expected to:

• Always conduct themselves with professionalism and in line with the EREA Code of Conduct and all St Edward’s College Policies and Procedures.

• Be a positive voice of support for the school with existing and prospective families, staff and others in the community.

PROFESSIONAL ATTRIBUTES

• Has an affinity with and appreciation for the charism of Blessed Edmund Rice and the EREA Charter Touchstones.

• Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office, Compass and the Adobe suite with the ability to learn new software and an aptitude for learning new skills and increasing professional knowledge.

• Confidence in dealing with a range of people with an understanding of the importance in exercising confidentiality, discretion and initiative.

• Outstanding organisational, planning and time management skills.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically in a fast-paced environment.

• A courteous, engaging and efficient manner, with a customer service focus and a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team and autonomously.

• A commitment to the ongoing and proactive protection and safeguarding of children and a NSW Working with Children Clearance number, or willingness to obtain.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage all enquires through the College switchboard.

• Manage Student reception enquiries including the management of the College Information email address.

• Manage student attendance.

• Extended Leave Letters.

• Process ID cards for students.

• Providing a first point of contact for students with regards to Sick Bay & First Aid.

• Provide administrative support for the College mobile phone policy.

• Receipting of monies and petty cash.

• Issue & maintain casual keys and register.

• Manage incoming & outgoing mail daily.

• Organisation of catering requirements for college functions under the direction of Executive Assistant to the Principal.

• Maintain / order catering supplies for ERC kitchen and staff room.

• Preparation & allocation of Year 7 lockers.

• Liaise with College Enrolments & Marketing team to assist with organising College events.

• Assist key College staff in the administrative processes related to evacuations and lock down.

• Assist non-teaching staff with ordering of stationery.

• Maintain EpiPen & Asthma kit register.

• Manage Medical Alert Action Plans.

• Annually apply for student concession card with Transport NSW.

ABOUT ST EDWARD’S COLLEGE

The College was founded by the Christian Brothers and has been educating boys on the Central Coast since 1953, and is governed by EREA NSW Colleges Limited. The College provides a wonderfully rich education which is authentic to the values which underpin the touchstones for schools conducted in the traditions of Blessed Edmund Rice the founder of Christian Brothers schools worldwide. These touchstones being: Liberating Education, Gospel Spirituality, Inclusive Community and Justice and Solidarity.
