
DIVERSE LEARNING TEACHER Application Process

Mark Bonnici the Principal of St Edward’s College invites suitably qualified and experienced teachers to indicate their interest and willingness to fulfil this position. The Diverse Learning Teacher promotes the College and EREA ethos by working to support the learning of students with diverse learning needs. This role includes assisting with the implementation of measures to identify students that may require additional support or extension to achieve learning growth. This teacher would also facilitate the development of strategies to support the learning of these students, including assisting teachers in developing strategies associated with differentiation and adjustment.
The Diverse Learning Teacher is required to work collaboratively with the Leader of Diverse Learning and subject teachers to develop appropriate and effective strategies and resources to support student learning, with a particular focus on improving student literacy and numeracy skills. The Diverse Learning Teacher will demonstrate initiative and a commitment to innovative and engaging pedagogical practice and ensure that all strategies are aligned to the St Edward’s Learning Aspiration Statement.

The position requires a person who:
• Has an affinity with and appreciation for the charism of Blessed Edmund Rice and the EREA Charter Touchstones.
• Demonstrates an ability to work with class teachers, parents and students to develop appropriate assessment strategies, identify resources and implement effective strategies to maximise learning opportunities for students with diverse learning needs.
• Demonstrates excellent modelling of teaching strategies to support students with diverse learning needs, with relevant qualifications and experience in developing literacy and numeracy skills, in a teamteaching environment.
• Demonstrates an excellent capacity to collaborate with all relevant parties in the design, implementation, modification and evaluation of Personal Learning Plans.
• Can demonstrate an understanding of disability and adjustments which will support students in accessing their learning.
• Demonstrates an excellent ability in the use of data to inform teaching practice.
• Demonstrates an ability to relate positively with students, staff and parents and a willingness to work in a collaborative team.
• Demonstrates an understanding of the processes involved in the preparation of funding submissions for students with diverse learning needs.
• Demonstrates successful teaching experience utilising effective organisational, administrative and interpersonal skills.
The successful applicant will commence this permanent full-time position early Term 3, 2025.
