Obstacle Course Challenge 2

DARE ID: RC.06.06

Welcome to the obstacle course Challenge 2! This challenge is all about refining your turning techniques an essential skill for safe and confident driving. Mastering turns helps you navigate bends, roundabouts, and corners with ease, whether you’re cruising through city streets or tackling tricky terrain.

CHALLENGE

Navigate a simple obstacle course with cones, completing 5 laps while maintaining precision and control. After each lap, execute a smooth turn to return to the starting position before continuing to the next lap.

GUIDELINES:

i. Navigate each turn with precision.

ii. Avoid collisions at all times.

iii. Stay within the track boundaries, ensuring no markers/cones are hit.

GUIDELINES

1. Use of Cones

i. Place 6 cones to serve as key markers for track boundaries and turns.

ii. Ensure the cones are sturdy and highly visible to avoid losing track of them during navigation.

2. Cone Spacing

i. Position the cones with a 100 cm gap between each one.

ii. Use a tape measure to guarantee precise and consistent spacing across the course.

3. Track Design

i. Arrange the cones to form a balanced track with a combination

ii. Tight turns to challenge precision.

iii. Gradual turns to evaluate smooth handling.

iv. Keep the course manageable but engaging to encourage smooth navigation.

v. Mark track boundaries clearly to prevent unintentional course deviations.

4. Starting Point

i. Position your RC vehicle exactly 20cm away from the first cone.

ii. Use a tape measure to ensure accuracy in the vehicle's starting position before the challenge begins.

5. Ending Point

i. Mark the ending point clearly at a specific location on the track i.e 50cm past the last cone.

ii. Use the tape measure to measure and mark the ending area accurately. This point signals the completion of the track.

6. Navigation Tips

i. Approach each turn carefully, maintaining a steady speed to avoid sharp or abrupt movements.

ii. Focus on precision, aiming to avoid any collisions with the cones.

iii. Practice smooth transitions between tight and gradual turns to enhance control and adaptability.

iv Finish by stopping at the marked ending point for a clean and controlled end to the challenge.

DARE LEVEL:

1. DARE Attempted

i. Completing the course but with penalties: Successfully finished all 5 laps, but hit the cone or went off track multiple times.

iii. Exemplary driving skills are shown, with smooth transitions and stops at the ending point.

iv. Awarded 250 STA.

ii. Penalties significantly lower the final score due to cone collisions, going off track, or inconsistent performance across laps.

iii. Acknowledge the attempt with 50 STA.

2. DARE Achieved

i. Meeting the core challenge: Completes all 5 laps without exceeding minor penalties i.e fewer than 2 cone hits or 1 off-track instance.

ii. Demonstrates good control, precision, throughout the laps.

iii. Achieves a solid 150 STA.

3. DARE Surpassed

i. Going above and beyond the requirements.

ii. Completes all 5 laps with no penalties (i.e., no cone collisions or off-track instances).
