SPEND AT HANGOUT MALL
What is Hangout Mall? Hangout Mall is a store where students can spend the STATERs (STA) they have earned on items they desire to buy like snacks, stationery, gift cards, or even shares in fictional companies —providing a hands-on lesson in spending, saving, and decision-making.
How It Works
There are two various ways for students to purchase from the Hangout Mall;
i. The O line Hangout Mall is a physical mini-store designed for students, located within the school premises. Students can easily purchase items using their STATERs ATM card, creating a seamless financial transaction experience within the STATERs ecosystem (i.e Earn, Save & Spend).

ii. The Online Hangout Mall is a digital store integrated into students’ web wallets, allowing them to browse, purchase, and receive deliveries directly at their school. This creates a convenient shopping experience while reinforcing financial responsibility within the STATERs ecosystem.

What Makes Hangout Mall Unique
i. It’s not just a Store, It’s a Learning Lab: Most schools' reward systems stop at “points for prizes.” Hangout Mall goes further by embedding real world financial behavior into every transaction. Students are not just buying they are budgeting, prioritizing, and reflecting.
ii. It celebrates the Whole Child: By o ering a wide range of items from snacks to stationery to gift cards students can express their personality and preferences, even if they are not top of the class. This is powerful in developing confidence, especially for students who shine outside traditional academics.
iii. It is math-driven: When a student calculates if they can a ord a Roblox gift card this week or need to save another 20 STATERs, they are doing math that matters to them. That emotional connection makes the learning stick because it is experiential.
iv. It Builds Identity Through Choice: The ability to choose what to buy whether it’s a pack of Skittles or a personalized play pack gives students a sense of ownership and agency. Which is rare in most school systems, and it’s deeply empowering.
v. It’s Integrated into Daily School Life: Unlike traditional school stores that open once a week or during special events, Hangout Mall is accessible, making it a consistent part of the student experience not a novelty.
