MESSAGE FROM ADMINISTRATION Dear St. Anthony of Padua Catholic School Families, Thank you to everyone who came to our meet and greet for Mrs. Tucker, our new principal. She was very excited to meet everyone and looks forward to beginning her new position here at St. Anthony of Padua. Standardized test scores are going home today with students from 1st-8th grades. Parents are invited to a Mission Matters meeting next Wednesday, May 23rd at 8:15 am to learn more about standardized testing scores. We have a lot of end of year activities yet to come. Fun Field Day, middle school exams, 8th grade graduation, kindergarten celebration and more are on the way. You’ll want to get the activities on your calendar so you don’t miss out on the fun.

The countdown to the end of school is on with just 9 days to go! We can’t believe how fast time is flying by. We are on a tight schedule for getting everything done that is required before the start of summer. Therefore, we may not be able to facilitate conferences/meetings or return emails and phone calls as promptly as usual unless there is an emergency. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

In the excitement and busyness of the end of the year we can easily forget that we need to live our lives with Jesus as our model. Our discipleship message calls us to remember that we are all one body, one family in Christ. Even when just a few members of our family are not living as Jesus calls us to live, we all suffer. We all know what Jesus expects of us. We know the character traits and social skills that we need to demonstrate so that we are living our lives like Jesus.

None of it matters however, if we are not putting that into practice. For the remaining days of school we are asking everyone to stay focused on being a Disciple of Christ by respecting others, sharing the love of Jesus with one another and being Christ-like in all that we do. Let’s finish strong!

The first tuition payments for ’18-’19 are due on June 1st. We continue to accept and process applications for PreK3, PreK4, 2nd, 3rd and 7th grades for next year, so spread the word.

Waiting lists continue to grow at other grade levels.

We gather at table with our parish family this weekend to celebrate Pentecost Sunday. In the Gospel, Jesus promises His disciples that He will send them the Holy Spirit to teach them and to guide them. We know that we can rely on the Holy Spirit to do the same for us each day. Maybe we’ll see each other at Mass. God's blessings to everyone for a great week!

Information has been sent home to parents with returning students entering Kindergarten and 7th grade for the 2018-2019 school year. Please make sure all vaccinations are current before we return to school in the fall. You can e-mail them to Mrs. Pavlock or drop off a hard copy to the front office. Please check summer office hours if you plan to drop off a copy.

If your child requires medication (scheduled or PRN) during the school year, please make sure all required medication forms are completed before the start of the 2018-2019 school year. We must have a doctor’s note to administer ANY medications, including OTC medication such as Tylenol, Advil, Tums. Medication forms for Allergies, Asthma, Inhaler self-carry and regular medication can be found at www.staopcs.org under the Parents tab.

4TH QUARTER STEWARDSHIP PROJECT Our 4th Quarter Stewardship Project benefits St. Anthony’s Bread Food Pantry. The pantry is located right here on campus and serves to fight hunger in our community. St. Anthony’s Bread functions solely on the donation of food from our parish. We are excited to work with the Food Pantry to help those in our very own neighborhoods. Thank you for your participation!   

Each class is assigned an item to bring in for the food pantry.

Please have your child bring the item to school from May 14th to May 25th.

The list is based on the current needs of St. Anthony’s Bread: Pre-K3 – Canned Soup Pre-K4 – Tomato Sauce Kindergarten – Boxed Desserts (Brownie Mix, Cake Mix, etc.)

All shipped orders include a shipping fee of $10.00. NO COD’S. Exchanges may be made by coming into the store, or mailing/shipping the merchandise back with a note stating what we need to do. Alterations are the responsibility of the customer. All sizes are standard sizes.

We do not accept any merchandise for return that has been washed, worn, altered, or have names written in them, EXCEPT in the case of manufacturing defects.
