MESSAGE FROM ADMINISTRATION Dear STAOPCS Families, It’s finally here! Our Lucky Hearts Gala 2018 is tonight! Online bidding for the Silent Auction continues into the evening. The casino, big board, live auction and much more await those attending. We’re looking forward to celebrating the year and sharing in the fellowship and FUNdraising! The Gala is traditionally our biggest fundraising event of the year helping to bridge the gap between tuition and cost of operations. Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone for your contributions in making this Gala the best yet!

Our Discipleship message for the week is about blessings. What is a blessing? A blessing is a gift that is meant to be helpful, useful or encouraging. God's original idea in creation was for His creatures, including mankind, to experience prosperity, peace, and joy, but that changed when sin entered the world. God’s blessings restore His favor on us and on others. The ultimate blessing that God has given is the new life and forgiveness that comes through faith in His Son, Jesus Christ. It’s important to remember that the material blessings we enjoy from day to day are temporary, but the spiritual blessings available to us in Jesus last forever. When we help others, love others, or forgive others we are sharing some of the many blessings that God has given us.

Our IOWA© standardized testing continues on Monday for students in 1st – 8th grades.

You can make a difference for your child by making sure they get a good night’s sleep, eat a hearty breakfast and are at school on time on testing days. Congratulations to our Advancement Department! Our Dolphin Donor Day was featured in a presentation given by Leslie Barerra, Director of Media and Technology form the Catholic Schools Office at the National Catholic Education Association’s recent convention in Cincinnati, Ohio. It was an honor to have our program featured on the national level. We continue to accept and process applications for Pre-K3, PreK-4, 2nd, 3rd and 7th grades for '18'19, so spread the word.

We gather at table with our parish family this weekend for the third Sunday of Easter. In the Gospel, the risen Jesus appears to His Apostles and tells them that they are His witnesses. How can we become witnesses and share the Good News of Jesus with others. Maybe we’ll see each other at Mass. God's blessings to everyone for a great week!

TESTING INFORMATION During the weeks of April 9-13 and April 16-20, students in 1st through 8th grades will be taking the IOWA Assessments as well as students in 1st through 7th grades will be taking the CogAT. We will not be testing on Wednesday or Friday each week. We are using these days to review skills and concepts for the subtests and administer make-up tests.

Please make sure your child is in school and on time on testing days. They need to be here by 8:00 a.m. and students coming in after this time will need to come back at 10:30 a.m. We do not want to disrupt the testing environment for our students. Please do not schedule any dentists or doctor appointments on these days. It is important that you child is in attendance.

EARTH DAY T-SHIRTS Earth Day T-shirt order forms went home in Green Folders today. T-shirts are $12 and all proceeds will support TreeCovery—which helps provide tree recovery and support to Texas communities affected by natural disasters. All order forms must be turned in by April 13th. You will be billed through your FACTS© account.
