MESSAGE FROM ADMINISTRATION Dear School Families, December is here! Before we know it, we will be celebrating the New Year. The weeks ahead in our homes will be filled with shopping, wrapping, cooking, entertaining and sharing Christmas cheer. In all the hustle and bustle of the season, let's remember that during the weeks of Advent we are preparing for the birth of Christ. The spirit of Christmas can be found each and every day, if we give to each other as God has given Jesus to us.

Our discipleship message for the week is a call for us all to come closer to God during this season of Advent which begins this weekend. Advent is a time of preparation for the celebration of Christ in our own lives and His birth at Christmas. It is the season for preparing and waiting. We prepare our hearts to remember Jesus’ birth in Bethlehem over two thousand years ago and for his coming again in his glorified body. We do not know when Jesus will come again, but when he does, all of creation will be drawn into God. Taking time to pray and serve others are great ways to prepare for Jesus’ coming at Christmas.

As we prepare our hearts during this Advent time for the coming of Christ at Christmas, many students are busy preparing their gift of song and entertainment, which they will share as part of the Advent season. In addition to all of the holiday activities in the next few weeks, we are planning and announcing details for Lucky Hearts Gala, National Catholic Schools Week, STEPS for Students and registration for 2018–2019. We’d especially like to hear your input on our first parent survey of the year – this survey is focuses on specific topics and there will be another survey in 2018 to address academics, homework and more. You may fill it out online or complete a hard-copy going home in green folders today. Thank you for your valuable feedback!

When we gather at table with our parish family this weekend for Mass, we will begin the season of Advent and a new liturgical year. In the Gospel we will hear the message that we need to be watchful and alert as we do not know when Jesus will come again. Maybe we’ll attend the same Mass and get to see you there! May Advent bring God's blessings to you and yours.

WHY 100% PARTICIPATION? Because each child is an important part of the St. Anthony community, our goal is for every family to make a gift every year to the Fund for St. Anthony.
